I have read some weird stuff and this is definitely a case of curiosity got the better of me. I do not feel well, I would like to dip my whole brain in bleach and then contact a priest.

I have seen Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer mentioned in quite a few reader groups I am in, along with a few Instagram posts and was excited to see it offered here!

Overall I give 4/5 stars
Was this the best monster romance I have ever read? No. Was it one of the more unique story-lines that seemed longer than it was, and actually had me semi emotional near the end? Yes, yes it was.

As I am almost certain this was made to be entirely satire, I found myself attached to Tanis and Big Al by the end of the book. The spice was,,,,something and PLEASE take the more intense trigger warnings seriously (such as the gore, death, cult, and amputation ones or anything mentioned that may trigger you), but I genuinely enjoyed the love and general plot line of this book.
Again, while it was goofy and out there, it was pretty unique and I'd be lying if I said I have read anything else like it. Faust's writing style was enjoyable and easy to read. Again, a bit silly from time to time, I felt like some things were purposely ridiculous and written as such, but it gave me a good chuckle.

The beginning/first half of the book wasn't easy to follow in my opinion.
I had a lot of questions, and narrowed my eyes a few times trying to understand where the plot was going, and why. Also how Tanis was described, she almost seemed underage, and I wasn't sure what the author meant. I double checked and only in the last half of the book does she give us her age as 18, almost 19.

I had almost given up on Tanis and Big Al, but I decided to keep reading. I really wish it had been longer only here - to explain if Big Al knew the folks at the cult before they arrived there or not. It seems implied, but it truly didn't make much sense to me. But once the book hit around page 22-25 (halfway point) and they escaped the cult, I was hooked. I had to know what happened next! I feel that the story was much more coherent and flowed a lot better after this point.

All in all, its silly and funny and I enjoyed reading this book!

This book isn't your typical erotica book. This involves a scaly lover. a pining redhead country girl and questionable mating practices.

Tanis is a girl born into a world where dinosaurs have become labor workers and live alongside modern humans. Tanis has had a fascination with dinosaurs for years...but is her interest more sexual in nature?

I typically do not read straight erotica due to my own tastes, and typically prefer romantic fantasy with some sprice. However, I did enjoy this short book. I found it quite interesting and love how it took the monster romance genre on with a twist. I wish the story had been longer instead of cutting off where it did.

There were some moments that truly gave me shudders, but I won't spoil that for other readers.

If I was rating it according to what I normally read I would give it two stars, but as an erotica I would rate it as 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars for this system.

Dinosaur Smut?? Yes please. This delivered exactly what I was expecting. Such an easy and fun read. Highly recommend for some point reading or a pallet cleanser between heavier books.

This is my third book by Lola Faust. My third dino romance/erotica/smut/whatnot book.
And I am so confused now. I don’t think a single book has ever done that to me, made me so confused. Ok, and a single author who keeps confusing me more and more.
When I read the first book (Triceratops and Bottoms), I was just very, very much entertained mostly. When I read the second book (Dino Stud), I was mostly disappointed, as it was more of a human and heterosexual romance. And then this. I honestly do not know what to make of it all. Is the author genius? Is the author a very disturbed person? Did the author use AI to write this? Did the author have a group chat with random strangers to brainstorm them and laugh their heads off all while coming up with the weirdest scenarios ever? Either way, the end result is here, and it is weird af.
Dino DNA collected from rocks, dinos living as a workforce with humans, telepathy, the most far-fetched ever sex scenes, and a dino randomly eating his human mate's injured hand off, but everyone is happy about it, everything is fine and dandy, and yes, there is a place where dino/human love is accepted. And so on and on and on. What? WHAT DID I JUST READ?
Ok, yeah, this book was SUPER UNIQUE. Trust me when I say that I don’t think there is another book like this one out there.
But I think I might be done with this dino smut. At least for some time. I don’t know for how long though. Might be this month, might be this lifetime.

This book was absolutely wild. It was hilarious. At the end of the day, it really is dinosaur smut. If you’re going into this wanting to read a literary masterpiece with a complex plot and world building, I think you’d be disappointed.

But if you want to read dinosaur smut that knows it’s dinosaur smut and isn’t trying to take itself too seriously, you might enjoy it. The writing was easy to read, although some of the plot points were a little weird (even if you suspend disbelief about the dinosaur thing).

This was my first and very likely last foray into dinosaur romance, but it had me in stitches at times and I don’t regret picking it up!

This was such a fun, short read. It definitely didn't take itself too seriously, and overall I had a lot of fun with it. Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer was my first read in this genre, but I will be checking out more by Lola Faust. I had to put the book down a few times to catch my breath and had a fun time reading excerpts to my friends. I don't know if I will be able to look at my local museum's dinosaur exhibit the same way.

Big Al I pine for thee..
I genuinely could not stop laughing while reading this literary masterpiece. If NASA ever sends another golden record into space, I want it to only contain this book. I want a stressed out, disheveled professor teaching at a community college to have this as required reading. I want this book to be my epitaph on my headstone. We do not deserve this incredible tale of love, loss, and dinosaurs.

Tanis is your typical farm girl from Albertan who is rescued from her father’s abuse by Big Al.
Big Al is an allosaurus who has been watching Tanis from afar and the day he introduces himself, Tanis takes a bullet (shotgun pellets) to the shoulder to protect him.

Big Al decides then that he will not live without her and they make a run for it, stopping only for sleep and sex. Yup…. Dinosaur vs human sex, but that’s not even the weirdest part. Noticing that her arm is now grey and the flesh dying, Tanis gives big Al permission to EAT HER ARM to satisfy his hunger.

The story follows them through the trials and tribulations of an interspecies relationship including prejudice, cheating and animal slaughter.

After reading a fair number of monster porn books, dinosaur doesn’t seem like such a far stretch to me. The book is a quick and fun read with spice, so if you have an hour or two spare and can get past the inter species love, give it a go.

I......I don't know what to say. I am not even sure what I was expecting. Words fail me. This is equally disturbing and hilarious, shocking and familiar. I'd like to think that there is some commentary here about conventional romance novels and something like that......but then I think that maybe there is just someone out there for whom this is their kink and I'm not going to yuck on anyone else's yums. Even if they involve dinosaur dick.

This book is definitely wacky! I can't say I hated it, but also unsure if I liked it. Most likely I won't read this genre again but it was a fun read.

Okay so, this was an interesting ride. I've read one of Lola Faust's books, Dino Stud, and it was cute and fun. This book was MUCH DIFFERENT. I took the content warnings at the beginning as a bit of a joke and quickly learned I shouldn't have. The content didn't necessarily bother me, but the warnings were hilarious and I just read them and moved beyond.
This is not your typical erotica. There was an incredible amount of spice… if you still call it spice when it involves a dinosaur (or two). It's quite graphic (both the sex and the gore) and it's not for the faint of heart. There was also a ton of story jam packed into this little tale. Dare I say I wish it would've been longer? I'm not sure if I could handle much more but there's no harm in a bit of story building.

But - did I hate it? Absolutely not. Did it provide an escape from reality (as I'm typically trying to do when reading)? Wildly. Would I recommend this to other people? Very delicately, if I know their preferences.

That all being said, I think I'm hooked and can't wait to read more dino books 🤷🏼‍♀️ thank you Netgalley for a free copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

I read the trigger warnings, deeply. made a video of me reading them, and laughed along. Because the trigger warnings were hid behind jokes such as "pickup trucks" "south dakota" and "corn fields" right alongside "fisting" and "threat of sexual assault", all lessening the severity, there is one singular trigger warning I missed. "Carnivore". I saw it, I read it, I registered it and went "Yeah duh it's a dinosaur let's GO!!" AND DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT IT MEANT. That was intentional on the author's part. It was part of the joke. But when I read the end of chapter one I wanted to vomit. It was not a case of "not reading the trigger warnings, so much as the trigger warnings intentionally burying the lead in the interest of a joke.
And it is funny, monster mash genre on the whole is hilarious and fun and silly and hinges on not taking itself too seriously--but trigger warnings are the one place where we need to take ourselves seriously.
I did not realize that *that* act was a trigger for me. And I would have read anyway, I would have found out, but I would have had more warning if the trigger warnings were not intentionally a joke.
I DO NOT CARE IF YOU WANNA F/CK A DINOSAUR!! Good for you girl! Have fun! Your scaly boyfriend communicated clear enthusiastic consent and I am happy for y'all! Harmless f/tish, no one gets hurt, dinos aren't alive anymore so truly no one is hurt by this fun f/tish. That's why I decided to read this adorable series! But that one scene, the end of chapter 1, with an intentionally obfuscated "warning" has put me off for a bit. I had nightmares, my dude. I have felt viscerally uncomfortable since. I read it, in 1 night, on the night it was realeased, and that element made me so uncomfortable that I couldn't bring myself to write a review until now.
Keep writing, keep living your best life, but PLease never again intentionally confuse your trigger warnings for a joke.

From the cover, you get a fairly good idea of what you're in for...and yet this will completely bust through your previous expectations....I'm not even sure what I read but it was really something....
I changed my rating from one star to two because at least this wasn't as horrible as The Witching Hour. Just let that sink in...

Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer by Lola Faust was an entire experience, several actually. I will never be able to get this book out of my head – the good, the bad and the WTF. Everything that the cover promises, the book delivers and oh so much more!

How the author fit so much into one book is beyond me. Make sure that you read the trigger list, despite the hilarity of Canada and pickup trucks being included there are some that you should definitely be aware of and take seriously. This book had some WEIRD stuff in it. This book is not for everyone. But if you go into this thinking, “Hey I like Ice Planet Barbarians, and this is basically that but with Dinos” you would be incorrect. This is the third cousin that is the result of 4 generations of incest to IPB. Go in with your eyes wide open to the triggers and there is a lot of BDSM/erotica with dinos going on.

I will never forget this reading experience, which is why despite there being about a hundred “WTF?!” moments it is a 3 star for me. I will give the author a lot of props, she went full send on dino erotica. Honestly, I will probably read her other books in the series because this one was just so shocking that I want to see where else she can go with it. Probably one of the most oddly creative books I have ever read.

Oh Lord. I was not prepared for this. It was too graphic and taboo feeling for me, but I can see why people would find it a fun escape from the real world. I typically read more humanoid “monster” romance, and this pushed a little too far into the animal for me.

I can honestly say I have never read anything like this in my life. This was very interesting. Also, I can honestly say I would definitely read more by this author. This book is a wild ride that I enjoyed the whole time. I don't think I will ever forget it. Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the Ebook arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

It was an easy read. Although the anatomy of the dinosaur confuses me especially when the two of them *whispers* mating (i dont even know dinosaurs have feathers??). Also, the end of first chapter, no actually every chapter?? Im dead. Like, I'm actually perplexed and confused about the whole book. But atleast its happy ending right???

I didn’t know what to expect, but this was certainly something. I had heard about this series a few months back and it seemed so preposterous I needed to check it out. I don’t know that I would read more of this dinosaur erotica series, but it wasn’t the worst story I’ve read

It's as weird as it seems, but not as goofy as I would have liked. One of the erotica scenes made me have to skip forward as it was downright gross. I actually found myself more hooked into the plot, but then it loses internal consistency at the end. The whole story revolves around relatively grounded concepts - - running away from home, being broke, age of majority, etc. But then a straight-up murder is just completely glossed over, and the venture capital funding at the end is missing a 0, unless the dollar has experienced large deflation in this universe.

Ultimately, it just didn't deliver on the premise of a goofy dino sex romp.
