This is the second Lola Faust book I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed this outrageously original dino-smut/love story. Suspend disbelief, chuckle at the long long list of trigger warnings and by the end you'll be wishing you had a Big Al in your life!!

Overcoming family disapproval, a cult-like love sanctuary and men with I'll-intent, this is a dino story with a happy ending - several happy endings in fact. I belly-laughed as I could really imagine the author having such a giggle writing this, and in a world of such bleak times, maybe dino-smut is just the antidote needed. Thank you Lola Faust for truly making me smile and for proving I can still be surprised. Who knew I'd be willing Big Al and Tanis to make it as an interspecies couple!

This dino smut is pure dinosanity. You know a book is gonna be good when it starts with a whole page of trigger warnings including but not limited to fisting, carnivorism, South Dakota, cults, corn fields, venture capitalism. This is what I’m here for.

Tania is a farm girl from Canada- where dinos have been domesticated and can commicate telepathically w humans (#justbelieve). Big Al is an allosaurus who is described as having bbq breath and skin that smells like fish and flowers. Same Big Al. Same.

Tania and Big Al get caught canoodling and her dad accidentally shoots her. Big Al bolts to safety with Tania. Unfortunately, dinos don’t know any first aid, but they do know how to pleasure a lady. So rather than hold pressure on Tania’s bullet wound, Big Al causes more trauma by impaling her with his huge dino dick and then he EATS HER ARM OFF!!! This is taking wanting to “devour” a lover to the next level. Tania feels dizzy with love, but perhaps she’s confusing the feeling of severe anemia with first love. #hemorrhagicshock

The pair move on to have many adventures including a foray at a North Dakota polyamorous dino/human sex cult, shoplifting (one armed bandit), a brush with kidnappers, and finally settle down at a slaughterhouse. And they do this all despite having only one opposable thumb between the two of them. Tania is very well adapted to life w one arm despite no formal rehab. Move aside Big Al, Tania is the actual real savage beast here.

Despite the weird reptile/human intercourse, these two really love each other and I support. The heart wants what the heart wants. Def recommend this read. I love this series.

Smut- 4.65 stars
Romance- 4.23 stars
Story- 4.11 stars
Me googling “Allosaurus size” “Allosaurus dick” “Do I need a psychiatrist?” as I read this- 18 stars

Completely bonkers pastiche of…I’m not quite sure what? This book has way too much fun subverting purple romance prose and playing around with tropes. (#onlyonearm , anyone?). Tanis, the sweet farm girl, runs away from home with Big Al the allosaurus. Their relationship is not platonic. Their love is a love for the ages, possibly the Cretaceous or Jurassic ages. I honestly have never read anything like it and probably never will again. The content warnings page does alert readers to mentions of Canadians and Canada, so do take care.

“Could her life be like this always, running forever in the arms of her very own dinosaur?” Spoiler, yes it can. 18 yo Tanis meets and is instantly attracted to Big Al, an allosaurus. Fleeing their stifling lives they embark on a search for a place to be together. I enjoyed how much fun the author clearly had writing this and there are some really funny parts. YMMV with the more carnivorous aspects of Big Al (and mine were definitely tested) and I think this novella may have permanently altered my relationship with corn🌽. But fair play to Tanis who sees her dinosaur in all his complexity and is going for it. The CWs are very comprehensive and worthy of a check..The CWs are very comprehensive and worthy of a check..

I also enjoyed Big Al’s saurian flair and the styling of his hair (err feathers?)

*ARC received with thanks from NetGalley*.

Reader, I giggled, I gasped, I clutched my pearls, I laughed some more, I felt a bit green.

This is the story of beautiful but perhaps a little repressed, certainly poorly treated farm girl Tanis. I think she was 18 at the start of the book and had worked her cruel sounding father’s farm for 17 years. If my math is correct, he needs to be reported for baby labour. Where other kids her age might be dreamily drawing pictures of horses and ponies, Tanis’ thoughts always turned to dinosaurs. She drew the funky feathers, the colours, the teeth, the necks, with such intensity she got in trouble for it. Her early day dream time was not wasted when she encounters her saurian suitor, Big Al. A hunky, thicc thighed allosaurus with an engineering job and other substantial… parts. Here’s where my prep let me down: I was expecting a shifter romance. Friends, the only shifting that took place related to… gears. Big Al was unapologetically a predator. With a digestive system to match. Meat sauna? Check. BBQ breath? Check. I don’t want to spoil your… enjoyment, but the manner in which their early relationship is consumed. I mean consummated! Is a choice. But you date a predator, you accept that at times your crush packs a crunch. Was this book pure porn? Yes. Was it ridiculous? Absolutely. But it’s never not aware of this, nor losing its playful gleeful edge. Every other sentence whacks you in the face with silly sexual similes 🌽🌽🌽literal peens, and intertextual allusions to Shakespeare no less. Please check the comprehensive CWs if you feel you might be a person of slightly delicate disposition. This novella pushes some boundaries I was not expecting to see pushed. But the bonkers kind of makes it… ok?

this was fun! i love weird spicy books so it came to no surprise that i enjoyed this. i loved the relationships between person and dinosaur. i also loved the w/w scenes! don’t nearly see those enough in spicy dino books, ahah

I will give it to Tik Tok for being a place of influence. I would not have been interested in this novella without it.
Would I tell others to read this, yes. Do I think most people should read this, absolutely not. This novella is nearly the book equivalent of Pink Flamingos and that is saying a lot since John Waters is a published author.
Perfect for shock value smut lovers.

I’m not going to lie when I say that I specifically requested this book because of the title/cover and because I had heard of this author’s other Dino books and wasn’t really sure what to expect. I thought the book was entertaining and I’d definitely read others by this author. I liked the characters and the wild imagination of the author, but the writing itself felt somewhat elementary. Overall, a decent read.

So, this is a book I read…
I really can’t say that this was good, but it was definitely entertaining.
I laughed out loud several times, and made lots of highlights. Basically, this book is pretty much exactly what you would expect.

Well... I read it. It was words on a page. I have heard many people talking about this book and so when it became available on NetGalley I figured I would see what all the hubub was about. I don't want to ruin this book and its summary for anyone else, so I wont go into the nitty gritty. What I can say is Lola Faust is very creative. This book does not follow any sort of narrative structure I have read before. It is not a HEA or a HFN, so i would not classify this book as romance, despite the obvious Human Woman / Dinosaur companionship.

Recommendation,
I mean there is way better monster romance out there.

Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read and honestly review #WetHotAllosaurusSummer

This… this was something.

The story was very short and the plot wasn’t much.. but what was a expecting from a book called Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer. It was definitely a weird read - especially coming from someone who rarely reads smut, but like I said what was I expecting. It’s definitely wacky and I think that’s the whole point. It was fun to read and though I’m not into Dinosaur smut, I'm sure someone who is would thoroughly enjoy this.

I'm not much of an erotica reader. Do I enjoy a good romance? Hell yeah! Do I like it when my fantasy series has a little bit (or a lotta bit) of ~spice~? HELL yeah. But I still haven't really ventured into the world of erotica much.

But when I signed up for a NetGalley account a few weeks ago and saw that one of the books on the "Read Now" had one of those old-school romance covers with a *dinosaur* on it, I could not pass it up.

Does this book have a stunningly crafted plot with deep characters? No, of course it doesn't. But that's not why you picked it up, and that's not what you're looking for in a review. You picked it up because you were like, "wtf, is this dinosaur smut?" and it IS. It does what it says on the cover, and it's a good time. I was laughing out loud multiple times and texting the group chat to laugh about it. At 60-something pages, it's a quick read and brought a smile to my face. And honestly, it got surprisingly deep a few times. If you want a good laugh and are curious to see what the hell dinosaur erotica could be about, I'd say it's worth your time.

Thank you for this ARC!

It’s not a long book and I think that’s important because anymore and I don’t think I would have liked it.
Wow….. WTF did I just read. Lol you definitely have to read this with an open mind and laugh a bit! Would I recommend this to others uh probably not because they’d think I was crazy. Is it a good gag gift YES!
I can’t get over the infected arm that HE ATE and why the F did he cheat!! I thought there was true love after everything! Then it just ends…. So lost but I could help myself but laugh.
This book doesn’t seem finished at all maybe another chapter and i would have rated it a little better.

This book was recommended to me by a friend who is slightly more adventurous than I am. I will give almost any genre an honest shot. Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I am grateful for the listing of trigger warnings immediately listed within the first couple pages. I feel that they are significant.

Overall, I give the author a lot of props for such an imaginative, kinky story. However, I think this book is best suited for those who typically read within this genre.

The FULL story of Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer By Lola Faust is out and available now!!!

I had already purchased the paper back of this book that had the first two chapters in it after reading Dino Stud last month - I was extremely happy to see that the completed story was released!

Those first two chapters were pretty much a story in themselves, but it didn’t provide the HEA I had hoped for between Tanis and Big Al the allosaurus. The completed story of Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer provides even more story to these two starcrossed lovers and an HEA that any romance fan could be happy for!

Like I said, just with the first two chapters, this is a wild ride, where country girl Tanis falls in love with one of the allosauruses working on her fathers farm. Her dad is not impressed and tries to end their relationship which results in tennis getting injured and her and her allosaurus lover running off into the sunset.

This book is full of crazy adventures, human, and dinosaur relations, and the simple desire of a couple force from their home and family, trying to find a place where they belong.

Overall, Lola’s dinosaur erotica is far-fetched, outrageous. Lots of fun and totally addicting! My paperback copy included three other short stories, a three chapter teaser, and some other fun dinosaur shorts. All of these stories very in there, Roddick level and offer variety from historical to current day romances with dinosaurs.

It may just be me obsessed with dinosaurs, but this is way too much fun and I’m not gonna quit anytime soon!

Thanks to NetGalley for my Ecopy of this book. Opinions on my own.

this book was… Some thing else. I’m all for monster romance, but I think this might be a little too far. While some people might enjoy it. I was definitely not one of those people.

This short tale was sweet, short, and very very hot. I didn’t know what to expect beginning this and I’m glad I stayed with it.

I found Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer by Lola Faust to be an entertaining and steamy read with a unique twist on the typical romance novel. The forbidden love between a human and a dinosaur added a level of excitement and danger to the story. However, the writing style could have been more polished and the plot was at times predictable. Overall, it was an enjoyable read for those looking for a fun and unconventional romance.

This was...wild.

This wasn't particularly good, but I think it set out to be a wacky time and it definitely delivers on that front so I can't fault it for being what it is.

Dino porn. I knew going into this (based off the cover and description) that it would be ridiculous- but I also expected more. The story was much shorter than expected and it made me laugh, but that’s about it.
