Another great book in this series. I've been waiting on Harlow to get her story, and love that it was someone from her past. Great interaction and romance.

I try not to read books well into a series but I grabbed this one anyway. Well, I now have 7 more books on my TBR.

This is the 8th book in the Ancients Rising series, but can be read as a stand-alone (which I did). Shifters, witches, fae and second chances. Aodh escapes captivity by an evil witch and searches for his former teammates, who he believes abandoned him. His teammates are surprised when he returns believing that he was killed. Join Aodh and Harlow as they overcome the lies they believed and their team who are committed to stopping the evil witch feeding off of the fa.

This was a fast moving story that is filled with mystery, romance, friendships and, of course, second chances.

Thank you NetGalley, Katie Reus and Xpresso Book Tours for the ARC of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Ancient Warrior through Net Galley. This story is a sensational paranormal romance . Harlow is a Siberian tiger shifter and before the Fall she work in black ops with her twin and her team protecting all shifters . While hunting a witch who was a serial killer her dragon shifter lover and team member turned against her and tried to kill her . She had to kill him and was devastated ever since . Dragon shifter Aodh was tricked and poisoned and held prisoner by the evil witch deep under a castle in the fae realm . When the castle was destroyed Aodh was set free . He only has two things on his mind . One to find out why Harlow and the team never rescued him and two hunting down the witch and killing her . This story is interesting and intriguing and definitely Suspenseful with sexy times included . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This was a real sweet story with lots of smexy times, lots of banter between the team mates and some twists and turns. What I also loved was that there was a little side romance, someone else on the team who got their happy end.
Highly recommend.

Oh hell yes! I dropped literally everything, except my e-reader when another part in the Ancient Rising series of Katie Reus popped up on Netgalley. I’ve read a lot of different series from Katie, but this is one of my favorite series. And this one is about Harlow and Brielle. (If you haven’t read the previous parts: they are the tiger twins from Ancient Protector, who were with Star and Aurora) The story can be read as a standalone, but you’ll enjoy the dynamics between Christian (a vampire) and Alex (a lion shifter) sooo much better if you have read the whole series, which is no hardship. Aodh is new to the story, but the rest of the characters are mostly from the previous part, which is just awesome. We learn more about the time before The Fall, when Harlow and Aodh were lovers. But then Aodh betrayed her and Harlow had to kill him. But now he appears to be still alive! Of course Katie reveals only snippets of the story throughout the book to keep you hooked. (And yes, it works). Of course there are twists and turns and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly enjoyable! But I still hope there will be a story on Christian and Alex as well. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I have to go back to the previous book as I don't remember what triggered Aodh's release from his prison from the fae's dungeon! When he broke away from the realm that he was trapped, he ended up in Chicago.

Harlow, a tiger shifter, and Aodh, a dragon shifter, have a history together and she thinks he tried to kill her and he thinks she left him to rot in his prison.

Lots will be revealed along with their rekindled romance, action, drama, and lots of secrets revealed.

Could not put the book down and had to read it and find out what was going on!

Man I love this Ancient Rising series! Oh wait I love everything she writes! When Aodh manages to escape from the prison he’s being held in he seeks out, not only the witch that trapped him, but the 1 person he thought would never stop looking for him! Harlow, after killing the love of her life, knows there will never be another, or will there?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Harlow has always been a character that I was curious about. She was such a badass from the moment she appeared. I was really looking forward to seeing who the hero would be that could deal with her dominant personality.

Long before The Fall, Harlow & Aodh worked on a Black Ops team. They were responsible for policing the supernatural. When Aodh turned against Harlow, she was forced to kill him. Or so she thinks. Even after all the years that have passed, Harlow still feels the loss of her would-be mate. Now Aodh is back and wants revenge on Harlow & the rest of the team for deserting him. The only problem with that is that he loves Harlow deeply & could never hurt her. He has no idea why she or the rest of his team abandoned him, but he does know that he won’t let her go so easily.

When Aodh returns, Harlow knows that something went terribly wrong. The man that she thought she killed was not Aodh. It was a witch that wanted Aodh for the dragon inside him. After draining him of his powers for decades, Aodh is finally free. Now Harlow & Aodh have to work together with the rest of their pack to find the witch that destroyed both their worlds.

I loved both Harlow & Aodh. While it was hard for both of them to forgive the other one, they realized that they would have to work together to bring down the witch responsible for so much pain & suffering in their lives. I enjoyed Harlow immensely. She was a great heroine. Aodh wasn’t bad himself, but it was really Harlow that shined on the pages. My only complaint was that the book was way too short.

Rating: 3.75 out of 5.

Aodh and Harlow’s story is just everything. While you can certainly read these as standalone books, I highly recommend reading this whole series - they are all excellent!

This series convinced me that post-apocalyptic worlds aren’t all bad. I mean, sure, they survived something terrible when the dragons destroyed most of the world and a lot of the infrastructure we take for granted, but the stories that come out of it are phenomenal. We join our merry band of housemates with a focus on Harlow, one of the twin tiger shifters. She’s always come across as damaged in the past, but this book shares the betrayal she was living with for years.

Aodh, a dragon shifter and Harlow’s intended mate, has been locked up by an evil witch for years, until a battle knocked him loose from his prison. He believes that Harlow betrayed him, both living a lie because of the witch’s magic. Don’t worry, though, because this story comes with excellent retribution, a lot of clearing the air, a healthy dose of witty banter, smut, and a HEA (for more than just Harlow). We also get guest appearances from our favorite other characters in this world, which is always nice. I enjoyed watching this one play out and can’t wait to see where we go next (Axel maybe?).

Harlow and Aodh story was fast paces and was a perfect mix of romance and action. If the reader is familiar with the series, it was wonderful to see why Harlow held herself back and finally see some intense emotion from her. Aodh was a typical strong hero who is devoted to his fated mate. I also enjoyed Brielle's part in this story as well.

A big thank you to NetGalley and KR Press LLC for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This had great characters, and dynamics. It was enthralling and that witch was pure evil! LOL This is part of a series, but reads well as a stand alone This is Aodh and Harlow's story. 4 stars

Ancient Warrior is book 8 in the Ancients Rising series and another great addition to this series. Aodh is an ancient dragon who before the fall worked in the Black OPs with shifters Harlow, Brielle and Axel. They made a great team and during that time he fell in love with Harlow who he knew was his mate. Unfortunately, during an assignment the team was tricked and Aodh was imprisoned by the witch and the illusion she created made Harlow believe Aodh had betrayed them, and she was forced to kill him. So obviously their first meeting didn't go as planned with lots of hurt feelings on both sides. I love that it didn't take long for them to clear it all up and continue with their relationship. I loved the storyline with Brielle and as usual I loved all the side characters. I look forward to the next book in this series.

What I really liked about Harlow was her aplomb. Her past wasn't an easy one and haunts her in her present. And while she lives and works and has friends, she knows that something is missing. Finding out the truth about what happened really changes her hope for a future

Years ago Harlow and Aodh had been on a mission together but the man she loved turned on her and tried to kill her and the others with them. Harlow had no choice but to defend herself and kill him. At least she thought she killed him but now he's back and he's mad because from his point of view, he'd been captured by an evil witch who kept him a prisoner in his dragon form in a dungeon and fed off his energy, keeping him too weak to escape.

Aodh waited years for Harlow to find him and save him but when she never came and he had a chance to escape, he pulled all the energy together he had and escaped his prison. After the confrontation where both Harlow and Aodh think their versions of what happened are the right ones, they get a witch to read both of their memories to see what really happened and find out the witch that kept him captive made them both see something different so neither one saw the truth of what was actually happening.

Now they both have to get over the shock and work together to find the witch and make her pay for what she did, all the while trying to sort out the feelings they had for one another.

I've been reading this series and really liking it but this book was a little slow on the pacing for me. I found myself a little bored at times but it picks back up towards the end and so I'm glad that I stuck with it. If you like this series, I would definitely read this book as well. Just don't expect it to be quite as exciting as some of the other books in this series. It does have a good ending though.

Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great addition to the Ancients Rising series. Each can be read as a standalone, but it's best to read them all in order for continuity of the underlying story arc. This book focuses on Harlow and Aodh's story as they find their way back to each other after both thinking the other had betrayed them 15 years before. I love the host of other characters that are there throughout the series, shifters, fae, vampires, dragonlings and humans and the LGBTQ+ inclusivity as some of the characters find same-sex mates. Can't wait to read the next in the series!

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, steamy, action packed and held my interest. I didn't want to put it down. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is book 8 in the Ancients Rising series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as other books by this author.

I don't know how she does it but each book gets better and every love story unique. Aodh is one of my favorite dragons yet and Harlow's story more than exceeded expectations! This one is action packed, full of tension, the romance is sexy, and appearances of other favorite characters is a bonus.
