This was a short and sweet reminder of how easy it is to open up your home and connect with others in God’s name and in His grace over tea.

In Teatime Discipleship, author Sally Clarkson shares from the Scriptures, quotes, life stories and more that have shaped her unique philosophy of discipleship. Centered around the theme of teatime, Clarkson speaks of opening her home and her heart in order to cultivate deep relationships and ultimately share the hope of the gospel. She encourages readers that each discipleship relationship will be special based on their own story of God in their lives, and that He is willing and waiting to use them in the world. Filled with encouragement, teatime ideas, and recipes, Teatime Discipleship draws the reader to sit at the feet of Jesus and share his message with others.
Clarkson does a wonderful job of reminding all of us to slow down and invest in those around us. She shares how her own journey required her to reach out to others often, a reality that is especially prevalent in today's lonely world. Still she found encouragement from Jesus and reaped the benefits of a life spent giving of herself. In a time where we all desire to make an impact, such a simple act of sharing tea can often be overlooked. But it's this simple act that opens a multitude of hearts. I loved listening to the author narrate this audiobook version. She's speaks with such love and gentleness. A physical copy of this book would make a wonderful gift and would be an encouragment for years to come.

*Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book for review from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This would be a good book to give to as a gift to someone who is newer in the faith. I enjoyed the various recipes and the personal stories and I am a tea granny. Some of the teaching was geared more towards newer believers.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book is my core aesthetic. Jesus, tea, literature, community, beautiful blue teacups on the cover - all of it.

On a more useful note, I absolutely loved this book. There was nothing necessarily groundbreaking about its contents, but it was a beautiful reminder to slow down and set my priorities straight. Whether it means something as simple as pausing to make a cup of tea when I'm stressed, or hosting a big tea and welcoming friends and family, this book made me want to slow down and appreciate the important things in life. Some of the highlights of this book include:
- An extensive list of teas and what they are best paired with
- Sally's favorite recipes for hosting friends and family
- Simple ways to bring discipleship and hospitality into your own life

The only downside to this book is that I didn't know it was a coffee table book until after I started the audiobook, so I missed all of the beautiful pictures that I'm sure were in the physical copy.

“Teatime discipleship” it’s a little book about hospitality, love and devotion. Sally Clarkson shares with us some moments of her walk towards Christ, specifically the moments she was called to be there for others. Truly a blessed testimony filled with bible verses and some enticing recipes to inspire you to bless others.
The audiobook, narrated by the author, is as soothing and tender as you would have wanted it to be.
Truly a must read for all christian women.

This was a really cute book- with lots of awesome recipes! It’s a good reminder of how to slow down and bring discipleship into your home and life. I loved that she thought of different ways to show that Jesus was present in her home and ways to make her faith a part of her every day. There are so many great conversations that can happen over a hot beverage and it’s to easy to get people to open up over a coffee or tea.

This is one woman's guide to finding spirituality through teatime. It is, in a sense, a love letter to the art of tea drinking but also delves into the profound impact such a simple act can have. Anecdotes are interspersed with recipes and a quick guide to the different kinds of tea and how to steep these. It is a short, sweet, and simple guide to how spiritual a cup of tea can be.

I had this would be a sweet, quick and I was absolutely right! There are recipes, descriptions of types of teas and how to drink them, and great stories and lessons from the author's life. I listened to the audiobook, but I think it would be really handy to have the physical book on hand for hosting. Definitely a good read if you are interested in hosting and having people in your home!

Thanks to net galley, the author and the publisher for a copy of the audiobook to review. All opinions are mine.

I really enjoyed listening to Sally Clarkson's latest book. It was a soothing kind of book to listen to. I loved hearing about her life and her suggestions in reaching out to others. I think my tea-drinking daughter in law would especially love this book.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this audio book. All opinions are my own.

1. I received an ARC of the audiobook for this one and I’d like to start by saying that I’m sure a great deal of its charm lies in the photography that was not part of my reading experience.
2. The written content of the book is straightforward. Nothing that hasn’t been said before. Nothing profound on the subject of homemaking or relationship building or discipleship. Yet, it was still entertaining.
3. There are some tea recipes.
4. It’s impossible not to appreciate Sally Clarkson. She’s kind, warm, inviting and genuine. All this shines through in her writing.
5. I think this would make a nice Mother’s Day gift or something like that. Not sure it’s got enough meat on its bones to be a hearty read/listen but I’m sure the physical edition has a lovely presentation.

Thank you Netgalley and Sally Clarkson for this advanced Audio Version of Teatime Discipleship. I was not influenced for this honest review.

Teatime Discipleship is a sweet book that serves to encourage women to gather others over cups of tea (or coffee if you prefer...which I do!) to "Do Life With". This is a very simple and practical book. I can't say that I learned anything new, however I do believe I would have gotten more out of the book if I had read it.
I enjoyed how she wove scripture in throughout the book and ways to spread the gospel in just the simple act of sharing a cup of tea with another woman.
The recipes sound delicious that Clarckson offers.
I like how she kept reemphasizing how you do not have to do this grand formal pinterest worthy hostess event to open your home, it can be simple and easy and its more about the relationship you are persuing :)
Sure there are much deeper books out there (See Nancy Wilson or Rebecca Markle , Eve In Exile). But this was a sweet book!

This is yet another lovely book from Sally Clarkson. She is one of the few Christian writers today who is truly wise and worth listening to. This wonderful book gives practical insight into how women can disciple their children and friends, and cultivate a beautiful life of service and fellowship for the benefit of those around them and to the glory of God. Joy and loveliness are woven into every practice laid out in this book. I strongly recommend that you purchase and read this book (and any of her other books as well). It will enrich your life and spur you on closer to God.

I had the privilege last year, as a weary traveler in Oxford - toddler and entirely too much luggage in tow - to share a teatime and meal with Sally and her daughter Sarah. The life she depicts in this book, is exactly what I experience during our visit. She is caring and kind, and her diligent obedience to the Lord has overflowed and spilled into her children and grandchildren (check out Joy’s Substack and Sarah’s Patreon, both are as lovely as their mother).

I received an advance reader copy of this book (all the opinions expressed in this review are my own), but eagerly await a physical copy of it upon its publishing.

This is special. Such a short book, but it touches so many needs on so many levels: recipes, home decor, discipleship, self-care, hospitality, sacrificial love, and living a full life. I loved all of it and can’t wait to see the many pictures contained in the book! Huge Thank You to NetGalley and Dreamscape for the opportunity to enjoy this audiobook!

This was an okay book, I guess ... but I think that I would have enjoyed reading it more than listening to it...I think that perhaps I am not an audio-book kind of girl. (It was only offered in that version and I did listen to it, although I did tweak the speed of the reading as it was just way tooooo slowwwwwww.)
I would recommend reading it and not listening to it ... it has some nice stories but it was just not MY cup of tea :-)

Teatime Discipleship by Sally Clarkson is just like all the books by this author— absolutely lovely. This book is a treasure. It is the perfect gift book. Here, you will find things typical of a tea book— lovely recipes are definitely included! But this book is so much more. It is a simple encouragement to keep going and to also make time to rest. I listened to the audio version of this book and loved it in that format. I received this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

This is the kind of mentorship and encouragement that I always hope for when I pick up a book like this, and Sally Clarkson’s wisdom and candor is so refreshing. She begins by saying she hopes the book will feel like she is welcoming the reader into her home, and I think she did that with such grace and excellence.

It’s not a deep book. Sally Clarkson doesn’t seek to uncover mysteries of faith or scripture. She merely recounts the lessons she’s learned over 40 years of building relationships and sharing Jesus with people. It is beautifully simple and profound.

I absolutely loved this book, and I am so grateful to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and the author for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of this book. I can’t wait until it’s published so I can buy copies for my friends.

The pure squeals of joy that I let out when I got approval for listening to the new @sally.clarkson book, I am unashamed because the cover alone had me sold. The treat that Sally narrates the story is just icing on the cake. If you are a lover of her podcast, this will be a delight. I will definitely be grabbing a copy because I think the book will just be a beautiful addition to our house, but if you catch the audio, make sure to have a pen near by to jot down some recipes. So far, my family enjoyed French toast (a personal favorite to order, but never had the perfect recipe) and my children were delighted.

Some lovely delights from reading:
1. Women need women, friendships to inspire and help us feel seen. God is present and our love and friendship isn’t frivolous, it’s essential.
2. Hope isn’t a feeling, it’s a commitment. Holding fast to what scripture reminds us is true.
3. Say yes, be available for people. Make disciples. Be the friend to reach out.

Sally Clarkson has written something truly encouraging and I listened to this as an audiobook. With my busy life I listen to a lot of my books and highly recommend this. It’s 3 hours and 29 minutes long. The author actually narrated it and she did an excellent job. I visualized everything.
It had recipes sprinkled throughout and just plain one on one encouragement. It was refreshing with lots of ideas for refreshing. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks Dreamscape Media via NetGalley.
