This is such a wonderful book for any fans of Fablehaven! I love the story in the beginning, it made me want to reread the series, and the themed recipes are really special. The only downside to the book are some of the conventional ingredients that are used, like boxed mixes, food dye, and canola oil. Most of the recipes are completely homemade which I really appreciate. Recipes at the top of my list to try are Grandma Larsen's Sugar Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting, Lena's Loaded Crepes, and Tanu's Heartening Tomato Soup. I can't wait to make these recipes with my daughter once she is old enough to enjoy these books. |

5 stars to "The Official Fablehaven Cookbook"! The Fablehaven series was a favorite in my family. Precious hours were spent as I read them aloud to my children. We loved it! There are many recipes that look very good. I tried the Ogre Stew. It was delicious. There is a bonus short story! Be sure to check this one out. Your tummy and kids will love you. Simple, youth friendly recipies. Great for anyone who loves these books and wants to try out some new recipes. Something for every taste bud and cooking ability. Yumm! |

This book was so good I cannot stress this enough! Reading and cooking are two of my favorite things in the whole world so being able to do both is just fantastic! The kids and I create some of these amazing recipes and we look forward to making more! I have even made some of them vegan and will hopefully be able to do that with most. |

So I love to cook and this cookbook has some neat recipes a few I had to change so I could try it. But it's really good. 5 star And yes I do recommend it Already told a few people I know that like to cook and hopefully they like it to. |

How absolutely fun! I loved the original story at the beginning and oh my goodness the recipes are delightful! There’s crafts too! |

nice book, great addition and wonderful book for fand of the book series and i think a wonderful thing to have to combine a kids reading with cooking and maybe give them the opportunity to learn something. new while also having a way to still have the book series connection. the recipes are nice and the book is great. |

A story and a cookbook! Perfect. I am in love with this cookbook. They have done an amazin job at creating an adventure while creating some wonderful treats. Along with great recipes you will be treated to their new story “The Missing Brownies:A Fablehaven Adventure.” These house brownies are perfect for a cookbook, they are known to come in the night and create treats. This was a fun book for our family. It was so hard to pick our favorites. We enjoyed the Sorenson Buttermilk Pancakes, Fairy Garden Cupcakes and the Shadow Charmer’s Hot Chocolate Draught. There are 50 recipes in this delightful book and we can’t wait to try them all. We also can’t wait to share with the rest of the family. The pictures in the book are so colorful and appetizing. My 4 year old loved being able to hear a story that goes with what we are eating. It has ignited some adventures for him. I highly recommend this book for families who love food, adventure and some great story telling. We hadn’t had the opportunity to enjoy the books from this author but now my son wants to hear them all. We received this as an ARC and are so grateful. We will be buying this for our home and to share as gifts for family and friends. 100 Stars to this adventure. Enjoy |

This was a cute cookbook that I think would be great to cook out of for a Fablehaven party! I think everyone of all ages will love this. |

This was such a fun cookbook. I don't know what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. If you love Fablehaven and Brandon Mull then you will love this cookbook. My grandkids are wrapping up the series and this cookbook will be such a fun way to celebrate especially during Halloween. The recipes are fun and inviting. I look forward to trying these out with the kiddos! |

Full of fun and tasty recipes. Use them at parties or anytime to spice up your meals. A fun story starts the book off right. |

I really enjoyed The Official Fablehaven Cookbook by Brandon Mull. I was impressed, not only by the recipes, but also the side stories that linked this cookbook to the Fablehaven series. It's a great complement to the books, but I would definitely say that for a reader to fully appreciate this cookbook, they should be familiar with the series itself. Overall, I think the recipes looked good, used simple ingredients, had clear instructions, and sound like something I would actually eat! |

As a huge fan of the Fablehaven series I was delighted to read this short story and cookbook. I loved that some of the recipes were directly pulled from scenes in the books and that I get to now make them! It is always fun to revisit a childhood favorite series and this proved to be a joyful read that made me hungry. |

This was a fun cookbook! My kids loved looking through it and recognizing the names of their favorite characters from the Fablehaven world. They helped pick out recipes to try and enjoyed shopping and preparing the food together. The recipes are easy and kid-friendly. If you’re looking for a fun way to cook with your kids, this is a great cookbook to try! |

The recipes are inspired by the characters from the series. I haven't read the series, so that was not what made me request the book. I love all things spooky and the cover is just that. It's why I requested the cookbook from Netgalley. There's a cute story at the beginning of the cookbook about the missing brownies. It was a different pleasant addition to the cookbook. Their are a lot of food pictures, which is always a plus in my book. I don't think you should have a cookbook without photos to show what was being cooked. In addition to the food pictures, there are also illustrations. I thought this was a wonderful addition given the theme of the cookbook. The recipes all include information about them. For example, there's a recipe for fairy toast. I had never heard of this until I moved to Australia. The description describes fairy toast and how it is an Australian delicacy, mostly with children. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes. 5 out of 5 |

This is a cookbook meant to be shared with your children and your family. Recipes from the series will strike up many an interesting conversation while you work your magic together. The recipes are easy to follow, the prep is fun, the results delicious. It was a pleasure to add this cookbook to our home library, it has already generated some very special memories with many more to come. |

Our family read the Fablehaven series years ago and have been fans ever since. This year, the Official Fablehaven Cookbook was released and it is full of fun! It features an original Fablehaven Adventure called, “The Missing Brownies” that is funny and sweet and fans of the series will really enjoy it. Beyond that, there are recipes inspired by characters from throughout the series. Readers will love learning how to make Fairy Toast, Mummy Dogs, Zombie Cake Eyeballs, and my personal favorite, Coulter’s Caramel Apples. For those last summer gatherings, you could make a yummy dessert like Goblin Glop Trifles or a drink like Singing Sisters Bubbling Brew. Need a craft to chase away boredom? You can make Wizard Slime or Shapeshifter Playdoh. There is something for every occasion in this cookbook! Each recipe is easy to make with beautiful eye-catching illustrations and they also feature a quote from the book the recipe appeared in or at least what the character might do with the recipe. This imaginative and entertaining cookbook is a must for Fablehaven fans or anyone who loves to try new recipes with a fun twist! |

I’m not sure why this series is getting a cookbook now… the last book in the series was published in 2010. The series has had staying power and is still read by millions of children around the world but it’s not a big glossy in your face series. There’re no complaints because this is a well-done cookbook. I enjoyed the recipes and can’t wait to make the Midsomer Strawberry Salsa with cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips. The way the author and the person perfecting the recipes wrote this cookbook, where it gives snippets of various pages of the books as well as making each recipe about a character and event just works well. I think it’s fantastic that in the end of the book there are non-edible recipes for things like kinetic sand, slime, and super bubbles. While I don’t see the need for this cookbook, I do see it getting checked out of the children’s libraries for a long time to come. |

I love the short story at the beginning of the cookbook and all of the references to Fablehaven characters at the beginning of each recipe. Reading these recipes made me very hungry and there are quite a few recipes that I cannot wait to try, like the hot chocolate, the brownies, the strawberry salsa with cinnamon chips, and many more. |

Fun addition to the Fablehaven series! I didn’t expect to find a new short story inside a cookbook, but since it’s about magical creatures called brownies that leave you surprise treats they make out of ingredients left on the counter overnight, I guess it makes sense. Knox and his sister Tess are asked by their Grandpa Sorenson, caretaker of Fablehaven, to investigate the abduction of brownies from their community. Contains many easy recipes for foods kids will eat, that go along with quotes from the Fablehaven books. Also has a unique section of recipes for fun crafts like kinetic sand, invisible ink, slime, and giant bubble solution. Our favorites are Bubda’s Sloppy Guac, Hugo’s Mudslide Ice Cream Cake, Kendra’s Chocolate Covered Krispies, and Savani’s Tropical Smoothie. Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for a copy to use for my review. |
