I really like this series, and I always enjoy a new installment. Bailey's big plans for her factory form the backdrop of this story. The unreliable contractor she hired is found dead up on the scaffolding, and things go downhill from there.

The family relationships really shine here. Although Bailey's grandmother isn't in this one a lot, the fact that there's some disagreement between she and Bailey about the expansion is a nice subthread of tension. And the relationship between Charlotte and her family is a great subplot, especially since most of the Amish people blame Bailey for "luring" Charlotte away from the community.

Bailey's attempts to run her business and solve a crime and help her friends and deal with a documentary being filmed about her all weave in and out successfully. Really, the only complaint I have about this book is Jethro. The fact that Bailey supposedly doesn't want to be constantly babysitting the pig and yet ends up carting him around almost daily is ridiculous and makes Bailey come off like a dithering fool at times. But everything else works! :>D

I have read every book in this series and loved all of them. I appreciate how Author Amanda Flower can blend together both Amish and non Amish characters making her stories seem so realistic . After all these years I’ve become so familiar with most of the characters that I think of them as my friends. Blueberry Blunder is a perplexing, unpredictable mystery that will keep readers guessing till near the end of the book. It definitely was a page turner that was very hard to put down after I started reading it. The ending surprised me in more ways than one. I wasn’t disappointed in the way things turned out. I can truthfully say that Amanda Flower is my favorite Cozy Mystery Author!

I recommend this book to readers of Cozy Mystery and to fans of the Author. This book is scheduled to be released on 5/23/23.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are my own.

Once again Amanda Flower delivers a delightful cozy! This series is one of my favorites! The Amish Candy shop comes alive to the reader. Bailey King and her long time boyfriend Aiden Brody are delightful characters and it's fun to be part of their story. Solid mystery. Lots of suspects. Thanks #netgalley and #Kensington for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

When the candy factory build comes to a halt, Bailey fires her contractor as a last resort. The man is known as a hot head around the county and when he’s found dead in the factory, the sheriff, looking for a quick resolution, first considers Bailey as the prime suspect, but then finds another dupe, Charlotte’s daed.

With Charlotte’s wedding coming up, she and Bailey know they have to clear her father, even if he won’t attend her wedding. But will the killer put a stop to their sleuthing once and for all, til death do them part?

I adore this series. It’s the perfect blend of Englischer and Amish life that creates an excellent read each and every time. The whodunit is well planned out and the characters come to life as you read, especially Jethro. Amanda Flower is an amazing writer and I don’t miss a single one of her books across all of her series…and neither should you!

Blueberry Blunder is the enjoyable 8th book in the An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series by Amanda Flower. I love this series and have read them all. Bailey King co-owns Swissmen Sweets Candy Shop with her Amish Grandmother. Bailey is dating Aiden Brody who is back in Harvest, OH and is now a Private Investigator. Bailey is building a new candy factory and her Construction Manager, Wade has quit work until she gives him more money. Wade ends up dead. Bailey's cousin Charlotte is due to get married to Deputy Luke Little. His parents are in town for the wedding. Charlotte's Amish father is arrested for the murder which creates a lot of stress. Aiden's first case is for a petting zoo that is losing money. There is a film crew in town filming the construction of the candy factory. The Blueberry Bash is going on which provides a few laughs. There is a lot going on which keeps Bailey and everyone very busy! Very enjoyable cozy mystery that kept me guessing! #BlueberryBlunder #NetGalley

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review "Blueberry Blunder", the 8th book in the Bailey King/Amish Mysteries series.
So, we're back in Harvest, the not-so-quaint Amish village that has seen its share of murdery activity over the past seven books - and the intrigue continues in number eight.
Bailey King is in the midst of building her candy factory (much to the chagrin of some of the residents; but then, most of what the Englisch do causes chagrin to some of their stodgier Amish neighbours). Of course, there's filming involved, as the Gourmet Network has decided to chronicle the build.
But, all is not well on this build, as Bailey's contractor (a thoroughly unlikeable character right off the bat) has halted work, and is demanding more money, up front, for work not even done yet. And, having had enough, Bailey fires him.
In Harvest it's time for the Blueberry Bash and of course Bailey and Swissmen Sweets are roped into helping, even though this kind of celebration is not really an Amish thing.
At the bash, Bailey overhears a conversation between her former contractor and an Amis man during which a threat is made. And of course, murder - and the investigation - ensues.
All of the characters we've come to know and love are back for this one - Bailey's boyfriend, Aiden, now hanging out his shingle as a PI; her cousin, Charlotte, who left the Amish faith and her family, and is about to marry Deputy Little; Margo is back, organizing the Bash; and of course, Jethro the polka-dot pig is back and getting into the usual piggy mischief.
This one is simply as charming as the rest of the series, and fits right in. Recommended.

I mostly enjoyed this book. I didn’t like the depiction of some of the Amish, but the other characters are great. The fudge sounds tasty. I’m glad that the sheriff is exposed as he is. I was surprised by who the killer is. #BlueberryBlunder #NetGalley

I have come to love this author so much! This mystery was thrilling and intriguing and I loved the execution. This series had well rounded characters, clues, and it worked seamlessly.

Somehow, somewhere, I think there's a book in the joke name "The Great Parakeet Attack" episode. Seriously, Jethro? Is there any kind of mischief you can't manage to get into?

Anyway, on to the current mystery: Who killed Bailey's contractor, Wade? Why? Was it somehow tied to Aiden's first PI case? Why is Charlotte so sad as her wedding day approaches? Did you know most Amish don't even have Social Security numbers, let alone credit cards? Why is Aiden's return to town a bit awkward? How can nasty Sheriff Marshall keep his job? Why is a film crew following Bailey around? Is Devon always this obnoxious of is she up to something? Who....oh, way too many teasers.

This is one of my favorite Amanda Flowers' series. Full of fully developed characters, whose background is deftly provided early on, with touches of romance and humor, it's a fun read. Heck, the antics of Jethro the polka-dot pig are always a hoot, so no wonder the first chapter opens with Jethro, well, being Jethro. It's an easy read, too, that will keep you turning pages with Bailey seemingly always involved in something, even if it's just pig-sitting. I found it hard to put down once I started reading. The ending of this one is particularly satisfying, so give it a read. Even if you haven't read other books in the series, you'll quickly come to feel at home.

Thanks #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks - #KensingtonCozies for inviting me to that amazing Blueberry Festival. After the sweet ending, already looking forward to my next invite to Harvest, Ohio.

Amanda Flower has done it again. A great cozy mystery in which Bailey King is building her dream candy factory. The problem is she finds a dead body and that puts a hamper on her plans.

Come find out what happens in Blueberry Blunder.

A great read!

Blueberry Blunder by Amanda Flower is book #8 in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. Another murder in the Amish town of Harvest, Ohio. Chocolatier Bailey King, her cousin and her friends find themselves involved in investigating the murder. I like how Bailey, her cousin and friends manage to get information that helps solve the murder. Also I liked seeing Bailey's boyfriend, Aiden involved too. There's plenty suspense and action to keep the reader turning the pages. I am looking forward to the next book in he series.

Another good story overall, but must admit I struggled a bit with this one. Had Baily and Jethro the pig in there a lot, but not so much Aiden or her grandma. Amish and English, greed and murder, lots of red herrings, what is not to like? Would still recommend, but liked others in this fun series more.
