ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked the narration of this book! Her voice was so clear and easy to listen to, it was very easy to get lost in her stream of consciousness. The story itself was a little confusing at first until you realize pretty quickly that the main character Victoria is completely delusional. Then it’s fairly easy to understand, although I would’ve liked some clear cut resolution. I’m sure many readers that enjoy psychological thrillers with unreliable narrators would get a kick out of this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This one was definitely not at all for me. Virginia, the main character was not likable at all and her obsession with finding a man was ridiculous. The back and forth fantasies she kept having were quite annoying and bizarre.
This just was not something enjoyable to read. And the whole plot past that was just bizarre and confusing.
Narrator did well.

Virginia wants to get married and when she gets a job answering the local tip line at the police station her mom tells her it should be like shooting fish in a barrel on the first day there she gets a call in the woman on the other line tells her about dead bodies on the beach but when Virginia press’s for more information the caller hangs up eventually Virginia will learn the girls name is Verona but for now she takes down the message and goes to bring it to the detectives downstairs, when she walks in one of them is quite rude and another quickly jumps up and apologizes to her this is what begins the relationship between Virginia and detective brown now whether it’s in her head or in real life you’ll have to finish the book to find that out now Virginia continues to get calls from Verona in the more she calls the more details Virginia gets it seems Varona is a stripper and she may or may not have attended parties that the dead girls we’re at partying with policeman. This isn’t a super long book but having to suffer through Virginia’s inner dialogue made it feel so much longer I mean then one part she said she was thinking of Verona on vacation then she went in to different titles of children’s books using Verona‘s name and not just a couple like oh that’s so cute but went on and on with it I mean that’s pointless and childish this is supposed to be a third a year old woman I did finish the book because I wanted to know what happened and if anyone Virginia knew was involved end of Virginia really was dating Detective Brown or who she was dating because it wasn’t made clear but now having said all that I don’t know if this is a Thriller a Romance fantasy made up by Virginia but it was only OK I see other people gave it five stars and that’s great I wish I lived in their world because lots of books I find myself criticizing other seem to Love so maybe it’s me. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

The Tip Line isn't quite like anything I've ever read. It is very unique and engaging but also kind of confusing. The main character Virginia is often in her head and inner monologuing a lot which distracted from the plot. It also showed how obsessive and unstable she is. The plot was fast paced and interesting but the ending felt anticlimactic and unsatisfying. I still enjoyed the book overall and would love to read something else by Vanessa Cuti soon.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I was so uncomfortable the entire time, maybe that was the point, but our girl is bonkers. Is anyone this into men in real life?
Also I loved it because I was so so uncomfortable. I was like "what kind of weird stuff is this girl going to do/think"?
The narration was perfect.

Oof, this one was tough. I am thankful that Crooked Lane Books, Dreamscape Media, and Vanessa Cut considered me for early access to this mystery/thriller, but realistically what was the most terrifying was the inner thoughts and ramblings of our main character, Virginia Carey... She's eager to marry just about anything with a heartbeat, so she gets a job running the tip line at a police precinct. There's Red Flag #1. Also, as women, that's demeaning because we've come so far in life, our careers, and our feelings that having that goal in life feels stereotypical.

She begins to imagine herself marrying nearly every cop, detective, and co-worker she comes into contact with. Listening to this on audio makes it hard to detect what is real and just a daydream within her frazzled mind.

When an accurate tip comes in, detecting dead bodies on the beach, the Suffolk County PD has a real homicide case on their hands. Virginia is tasked to keep up with this tipster with every call she receives and then starts to form a friendship of some sort with Verona, our "anonymous tipster/part-time escort." Verona informs Virginia that several police officers on the Suffolk Co staff are regulars of her and her coworkers, acting out and sometimes getting aggressive. And then, instead of being professional about the manner, Virginia takes that information (and I guess throws it away) and gets into a relationship with the Chief of Police... Like Girl, think with your brain... She just completely ignores the fact that her sexual partner, and boss, could have murdered several women... all because she wants to get married?! Ugh, facepalm.

Logistically, there were so many red flags in this sequence that I guess I have to assume that our MC is either brain-dead or blind because I think anyone would catch on to the corruption in this precinct. ACAB, am I right?

3.5 stars

This book is so well written, but upon listening to the audio, I was unable to tell, at times, if the events were happening in Virginia’s imagination or if they were actually happening. And frankly, I was just annoyed by that.

This is one of those books were I loved the story but loathed the protagonist. I’m curious if that is the was the author planned it… there were no redeeming qualities to this girl, but it made the story work so well.

Virginia lands a job as a phone operator for a police tip line, which is perfect for her because all she wants is to land herself a husband… and being in a police precinct, there is a plethora of men for her to choose from.

Soon, though, Virginia finds herself in the center of a gruesome murder mystery involving sex workers, decadent parties and the men in boy who attend those parties.

I did really enjoy the story and writing, but the more I think of this and the more I think of Virginia and her absolute audacity, I get more and more mad. This author did a fabulous job at perfectly depicting someone with obsessive tendencies.

Good entertainment! Easy writing style, engaging plot, some surprises along the way. The audiobook's narrator was really good. I can recommend this if someone's looking for a fun, thrilling listen.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this audio. I enjoyed it couse I would felt really simmilar I guess. The confusion,.desire, expectations and all other things that can happen to a woman in her 30s were there. I would love a different ending in books but here I was ok with an open one. I was sucked in this police station.
