Thorn is riding his bike when he comes across a burning home. Going in he saves a woman named Chase. She though comes with problems or troubles since a hitman is after her. He decides to leave with her and protect her from the hitman. A good story and a quick read.

Overall this was such a good story. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. The only complaint is that I felt the ending was rushed and I didn't really get to enjoy it.

i really enjoyed this book! this book was very entertaining and definitely kept me on my toes! the pacing of the book was really good which helped make the book even better. i also loved getting to see the way the characters developed throughout the story! and omg the chemistryyyy and tension between them was so good.

my only complaint was that the ended was very rushed and i feel like that took away from everything that happened. it didn’t match with the pacing in the beginning at all.

overall, this book was super entertaining and if you’re into paranormal, dark, romances then i 100% recommend this book!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Evernight Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is number 2 in a series. It reads well as a stand alone. So much violence, but it is a nice romance. Sounds funny to say that. I did like the characters and the sense of family within the MC. 3.5 stars

I just didn’t like this book. I can’t really put one finger on why. There’s just so much about it screaming red flag. This was not the book that I wanted it to be nor was it really a book for me.

There was just something about this book that I couldn’t get behind.

A man nicknamed Thorn was able to save a woman, Chase from a burning building that was intentionally started by her uncle.

None of the characters were like able, especially Thorn. He was too arrogant right off the bat, especially inviting himself within the confines of Chase’s hospital room.

Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this.

Drama, mafia, motorcycles, romance! I didn't read the 1st book in the series and the author does an excellent job of explaining the characters. I will definitely be going back to read it now.

A wild ride I wish was longer. I read it in almost 3 hours and I honestly wish there was more to Thorn and Chase's story. It was a thrilling ride with just enough drama and spice. I'll definitely be back for more in the series and other books by the author.

I read this in one night! I stayed up until 3am reading it because I could not put it down. Thorn and Chase are amazing and I definitely want to go back and read book 1 of the series to learn about Brim and Leia. The characters had heart and heat and I really enjoyed the fast-paced storyline. This was a quick and enjoyable read. I will definitely be reading more from this author going forward.

I loved Shadow Kissed! I was a tad confused about the timeline with Shadow Touched at first. Shadow Kissed actually begins before Shadow Touched (first release in the series) but it gets cleared up midway and doesn't actually impact the story. I loved the paranormal twist to the plot and Thorn and Chase had major chemistry! Carter does a great job of balancing the serious aspects of the characters' lives with a sweet (and sexy) love story.

Thorn is the VP of his MC Club. Chase is on the run from something she shouldn't have seen. By chance, Thorn was riding his bike by the Chase's apartment building while it was an inferno with her trapped inside. This is the first opportunity I have had to read a story written by Beth D. Carter. Even though I had not read the first book in this series I was not lost at all. Thorn and Chase have incredible chemistry. I have never read a biker/paranormal book before. All of the characters in this story are incredibly flawed. It is understood that they are living a criminal existence based on their associations; Thorn is part of an MC, Chase's family are Irish mobsters, and both organizations associate with other MCs and mobsters. Regardless of their background they are likable characters. I blew through this book in one afternoon and am interested in delving into Carter's other stories.

Thorn and Chase’s first meeting starts off hot, literally there’s a fire, and that heat continues to build throughout the story. As VP of a MC, finding Chase was never in Thorn’s cards but their chance encounter starts chain of events that mixes steamy and action suspense with a slight paranormal twist in the form of dreams. This is book two in the series, but starts off before events in book one, then catches up to the present (after book one). For those who did not read book one ( although I highly recommend it) this is no problem, but it was a little weird for me at first until I figured it out. It’s a fast paced, with loads of characters that leave you wanting to know more and fingers crossed that more come soon. 4 stars enjoyable read. I received an arc copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I was as charmed by a story as I have been by Shadow Kissed. A love story that had me chuckling, sniffling, and adoring the opposites attract trope on a whole new level!.

Personally, 2 stars. Added the extra star because it's my fault I picked up a subgenre I really don't like.

I can't understand why I keep forgetting that I don't do MC or organized crime romance. I just find absolutely zero things attractive about hitmen or brothel owners, even if the hitee is a bad dude (never women, never children, obvi) or the whore is there because she truly wants to be and is never, of course, forced into doing something (or someone, as the case may be) she doesn't want to. Because those disclaimers always abound in these novels.

This one is pretty much in line with all the others. And it's well written for the most part, so if you don't find all that (*gestures wildly at the previous paragraph*) distasteful, you'll probably like the book.

The book is also instalove, which I rarely care for, though a lot of time does pass before they talk about forevers. As for what brought them together, there's a mysterious turbaned lady and a little bit of paranormal that prompts Thorn to stop at the apartment fire, where he subsequently rescues Chase and then insists on being her protection. From there, there's not a lot of sharing interests, at least that we witness. It happens off page. Mostly, they have sexy time and eat.

The book is second in a series, and the two stories seem to happen concurrently. I didn't read Shadow Touched, but I suspect that had I read it, some of my paranormal-inspired questions would have been answered.

The book itself is fairly short, which is mostly why I finished it rather than a DNF. But again, I don't think it's fair to fully slam the book just because it's not a subgenre that I like.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

Mafia intrigue, assassins, rough and loyal motorcycle gang, and a little bit of the mystic intertwined with a fated romance. More substance then the average MC romance, definitely worth the read.
