Aunt Ginny is up to something, of course, she won't reveal it until she is ready! In the meantime, there will be missing bags of Halloween candy, strange guests appearing on the doorstep, and Poppy finds that she and the Butterfly House are committed to the town's Haunted Homes Tour--- Oh my! The 8th addition to the Poppy McAllister series is fast paced and action oriented. Mischief Nights are Murder has everything I want in a cozy Autumn read: a suspicious death, ghosts, psychics, sassy pets, 'ghost-busters', zany situations, and laughter galore.
I will say I am glad for small amounts of progress in some of Poppy's relationships---if I had some of her snarky friends and relatives, I would not be as nice as she. I did enjoy the read and look forward to the next addition. #MischiefNightsAreMurder #NetGalley

Thank you to NetGalley, #Kensington #KensingtonCozies #LibbyKlein for sending an advanced readers e-book ,(at my request), to read and consider to review. I enjoy sharing good books with others---all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you Net Galley for providing this book and allowing me to read it in advance. I was unable to personally get into this book but that is the power of reading. There’s books for everyone. I know someone else will adore it!

Libby Klein has done it again! Poppy's latest adventure, Mischief Nights are Murder, is another hilarious and murderous romp around Cape May, with the added bonus of ghouls, goblins, and ghosts, and a Haunted Dinner tour that Poppy has been roped into participating in (as well as spending her days cooking Italian food on the down-low, which is a story in and of itself!!!). There aren't enough words to describe the madness that ensues, so I will only say this - read it, and read it now. You will not regret it (unless of course you don't like hysterically funny laugh-out-loud cozies featuring a cast of characters so entertaining words cannot even properly describe them). I've said it before and I'll say it again, Poppy is my spirit animal! A+++, 5 stars, and my highest recommendation!

Looking for Cozy Fall Spooky vibes? Read this mystery! Poppy the owner of the Butterfly B&B is coerced into taking part of the towns haunted dinner tours. She ends up hosting some very odd characters including a tabloid reporter, paranormal investigators, and a Pet Psychic! When one of the dinner guests ends up dead it is Poppy's job to figure out who the killer is!
Libby's writing is so smart and sarcastic, I was laughing out loud so many times. We already know the main cast of characters including the crazy Aunty Ginny and her group of Biddie's, now we meet some newer characters who really shined for me- Kenny the "manservant" (house cleaner) is one of my new favorite characters, and the interaction between Poppy's cat Figaro and Owen the pet psychic became some of my favorite scenes!! The mystery was good, I definitely didn't see the reveal coming. The ending leaves on a cliffhanger which is fantastic, and I have suspicions on how the next book will start.... This is one of the best cozy series and I will be very sad when it ends!
"Nothing tastes better with hollandaise than a clean conscience."
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another hilarious adventure with one of my favorite crews.
Added unwillingly to a "haunted hotel" tour and having the guests forced to stay with them until a murder is solved leads to complications.
Aunt Ginny's friends add to the merriment and make this a delightful read, especially for more mature readers.

I really enjoy this series. Poppy always seems to be around when there is a murder. This one happened at her B&B during a paranormal B&B tour. Poppy of course the amateur sleuth and is really good as she always solves the murder before the police. This one the murderer that no one thought about. THIS BOOK IS A VERY GOOD COZY.

Another awesome addition to the Poppy McAllister Mysteries by Libby Klein. This time the B&B is participating in the Cape May Haunted Dinners tour during the Halloween season. Murder happens at the first dinner so Poppy sets out to solve while juggling reporters, ghost hunters and tourists. With lots of twists and turns, great characters and a solid mystery this is a great read. Thanks#Netgalley and #Kensington for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of MISCHIEF NIGHTS ARE MURDER (Book 8 of the Poppy McAllister Mysteries) by Libby Klein, in exchange for an honest review. Poppy McAllister is already busy herding her mischievous aunt and B&B employees when she’s conscripted into participating in the Cape May Haunted Dinners Tour during the Halloween season. When one of the diners is murdered during the very first dinner, Poppy finds herself on the hunt for another killer. Meanwhile, Poppy is trying to fend off tabloid reporters, ghost hunters, and tourists of the macabre while taking over cooking for the restaurant belonging to her boyfriend’s grandmother. Also, Poppy’s Aunt Ginny is being besieged by mischief makers playing jokes on the B&B.

I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend the book to fans of the series and the series to fans of cozy murder mysteries featuring B&Bs, small towns, interesting relatives, animal sidekicks, and gluten-free recipes.

Poppy McAllister is far from pleased when her elderly Aunt Ginny signs up their bed and breakfast to be part of the Cape May Haunted Dinners Tour. On the first night of the tour, Poppy's guests include several paranormal researchers, a pet physic, and a tabloid reporter who is planning to write an expose about Poppy and her "talent" for finding dead bodies. Several of the guests know each other, and they spend most of the evening arguing before one of them drops over dead during the dessert course. When the medical examiner determines that Professor Simon Beck's was poisoned, Poppy, Aunt Ginny, and the rest of the B&B employees find themselves on the suspect list along with the dinner guests. To keep her B&B up and running for the rest of the haunted tour, Poppy agrees to tag along with her original dinner group and spy on them for the police.

My main reason for reading MISCHIEF NIGHTS ARE MURDER was the Halloween/haunted tour theme. I found the book to be very entertaining, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ghost stories and paranormal investigation of Poppy's bed and breakfast. The main characters are all quirky and, for the most part likeable. The pet psychic and his numerous chats with Figaro the cat had me laughing out loud. There are plenty of suspects with plausible motive for wanting the professor dead. I was kept guessing about the killer's identity until the end. MISCHIEF NIGHTS ARE MURDER is a fun cozy mystery that I would definitely recommend.

The Butterfly Wings B&B is part of a dinner ghost tour. Unfortunately, on the first night of the tour, a guest is murdered. Will Poppy be able to solve the murder before an innocent person goes to jail?

It was another great visit to Cape May with Poppy, Aunt Ginny, Figaro, and all their friends.

I couldn't love this series more, and this book is no exception! I can't wait for the next adventure!

If you like fun holiday cozies, this is the first one you should grab. Ms. Klein’s cast is a hoot and her depictions of the action are detailed enough to create movie like scenes in your mind. Her lead character is plagued by an eccentric aunt with a friend group of the same caliber, employees who give her gray hair and a sweetie who comes with a little extra. I highly recommend for any cozy lover...and it comes with some delicious sounding recipes in the back.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC gratis and offer my opinion in the same.

Mischief Nights Are Murder by Libby Klein is book #8 in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series. Fun! Fun! Fun! Believe me with Aunt Ginny in the mix you'll be laughing your way through the book. I know I was. I love this series and this latest addition is one of the best stories yet. It was great getting reacquainted with all the regular characters. Once again Poppy has her hands full keeping up with Aunt Ginny. Aunt Ginny is a real hoot! Made me chuckle to read that the Biddies nicknamed Poppy, Murder Magnet. Loved the scene with Poppy and Gia's Mama. I really did laugh my way through this book. Can't wait for the next one.

Poppy and aunt Ginny is back for another funny adventure. This one was awesome as usual. Its Halloween and of course aunt Ginny signs Poppy up for a Haunted Ghost Dinner Tour. As usual things do not go as planned and someone is murdered the first night of the dinner. I love this cast of characters! The ending will surprise you and leaving you wanting more.

I read the first Poppy McAllister Mystery (CLASS REUNIONS ARE MURDER) in January this year, and had caught up on all seven books by April. I adore this series! It might actually be my favourite cozy series, on par with Amanda Flower’s Amish Sweet Shop or Molly MacRae’s Haunted Yarn Shop.

I actually listened to books #2 through #7 on Scribd, narrated by Callie Beaulieu. There’s a lot of different accents/voices in this series, between a Ukrainian housemaid, the assorted guests, and Gia (love of my life) and his family, and Beaulieu brings them to life marvellously. If you like audiobooks, and are looking to try this series, the first seven books are (currently) available, and would be a great way to start.

In MISCHIEF NIGHTS ARE MURDER, the eighth in the series, we hit that traditional cozy mystery instalment – the Halloween mystery. MISCHIEF NIGHTS ARE MURDER plays this off perfectly. After seven dead bodies, people are starting to suspect something fishy about Poppy and her B&B (as you would! I love that this series actually tackles that aspect of long-running sleuth series, where how often the protagonist finds bodies would definitely start to seem suspicious) so it’s a natural choice for a stop on the towns Haunted B&B Tour, and a batch of really quirky pet-psychic, ghost-hunting, or psychic-sceptic guests.

By this point in the series, the regulars are well-established and I love them dearly. Aunt Ginny and her pack of eccentric friends “the biddies” cause as much trouble as expected, Poppy’s love life continues to face challenges while being adorable, and Poppy’s relationships with some of the smaller characters continue to develop and evolve.

There’s such a good sense of humour in these stories, and each book has had me genuinely laugh out loud a couple of times. I really like Poppy as a protagonist. She’s snarky and funny (and not always perfectly nice) and really relatable.

MISCHIEF NIGHTS ARE MURDER is a wonderful instalment in a fabulous cozy series, and I really recommend all the Poppy McAllister Mysteries to cozy mystery readers.

A fair story, but must admit I struggled at times to stay invested in the story. Poppy and her gang at the B&B are included in a ghost tour (around Halloween of course), and there is plenty of activity, especially when murder occurs. Liked it enough to read to the end, and would recommend, but would help if you read others in the series first.

"Mischief Nights Are Murder" is a delightful cozy mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. The book is full of quirky characters, witty banter, and a charming setting that will make you feel like you're right in the heart of the action.

Poppy McAllister, is a relatable and endearing character who is easy to root for. Her witty sense of humor and determination make her a refreshing change from the typical amateur sleuth. The plot is well-crafted and keeps the reader engaged throughout. The mystery is intriguing, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. The resolution is satisfying and ties up all the loose ends nicely.

Overall, "Mischief Nights Are Murder" is a fun and entertaining read that will appeal to fans of cozy mysteries. Libby Klein is a talented writer with a knack for crafting engaging characters and compelling mysteries. The book is full of witty one-liners and pop culture references that will have you laughing out loud. The pacing is just right, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes, but never so many that you lose track of the story. Halloween, the Cape May Haunted House Tour, pranks, a pet psychic, rival paranormal researchers, a ghost hunting tv crew, Gia' s mama and murder have Poppy McAllister ready to grab Gia, a gluten free muffin and hide until this night is over!

The latest addition to the series didn't disappointment and kept me guessing and laughing! I don't want to give anything away but I promise you'll love the book from the first sentence until the last!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed in this review are my own

Welcome to the frequently chaotic world of Poppy McAllister and the wacky guests at her B&B. It's always a fun ride when you're with Poppy, full of laugh-out-loud scenes and characters who are, well, characters. Even boyfriend Gia, full name Giampaola, comes with a family that largely dislikes Poppy, especially his hot-headed mother. Even her own head cook/chef calls her names. And we haven't even gotten to this episode's guest who wears a metal colander on his head or the ghost hunters who seem to be everywhere, including outside Poppy's door when she's trying to sleep.

This is such a fun series. Libby Klein is a master at creating laugh-out-loud scenes and nutsy characters you'll like, even while rolling your eyes at their antics. Toss Halloween into the mix and you've got the scene for some wild antics and adventures. And, oh, a murder. Who killed one of Poppy's B&B guests? Quite frankly, I was half beginning to think we had a Christie Orient Express situation going because all the suspects seemed to have jolly good reason to have offed the philandering victim. Figaro the cat seemed to know more than Poppy, to be honest, when it came to solving that crime. BTW, Figaro is the name of the author's own cat.

As for the paranormal crew, which somehow seems an awkward adjective to describe them, will they discover Poppy's B&B isn't just a murder magnet ... or is that Poppy ... and discover a real ghost. Er, right. Another weird adjective choice. Is there such a thing as real and unreal ghosts? What secrets does the B&B hide? Will Figaro ever stop secreting objects he's "found"? And, who is vandalizing Poppy's Halloween decorations, most of which just seem to appear magically. Ghosts at work? And, whoa, what's behind the absolutely hilarious tale of Kenny's youthful misadventures?

What...oh, never mind. There is so much going on in this book, much of it humorous but with more than a touch of romance, that teasers just don't do it credit. If you want to read a fun mystery with just the right mix of mystery, romance, wacky characters, and humor, this one's for you. Thank you #NetGalley and KensingtonBooks - #KensingtonCozies for giving me just the right dose of humor and mystery to make my day. Speaking of teasers, oh, that ending....

Poppy McAllister, gluten-free baker (and baker of gluten-free goods) and B&B operator, finds herself roped into a ghost tour event. As you might guess the first night goes awry and more than a delicious dinner is laid out on Poppy's dinner table. Given that the deceased was the least popular man for miles around, finding out who salted his pork will take more than a little investigation.

This book has a little of everything. A fun group of senior sidekicks, a B&B, a crazy cat, guests who are out of the ordinary, a local ghost tour, an angry chef, a despised victim with an almost unlimited number of potential killers, and a little romance. And, oh, the ending! You'll be guessing until the very end (unless you figure out who the killer is and believe me, you'd be wrong!)

I read this series out of order, reading the first book, then the 6th, then the 2nd, followed by the 7th and now the 8th. Though it might have been a bit easier to read them in order, I don't think I missed anything (other than books 3, 4, and 5) by reading them the way I did. There are definitely story arcs and character growth and development, but these are simple enough to follow without needing a lot of backstory. Poppy is a fantastic character. She's loyal and steady and she has the backs of her friends, who in turn have her back as well. She's also a bit snarky and sarcastic, which provides for lots of laughs along the way.

This is a series I was a bit intimidated by in the beginning because they're quite long, but you won't know it as you're reading them because they're so fast-paced and there's so much going on. If you enjoy a good culinary cozy this is a series you'll definitely want to add to your list.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
