In one split decision, two couples lives are changed forever. Kristen and Nick on their way home for a weekend getaway accidentally run over and kill a man. Apparently they hadn’t seen the movie I know what you did last summer and decided to cover up the hit and run. As the old adage goes, no body no crime. On the other hand, Amy and Greg are over the moon, they just celebrated their 10 anniversary and are expecting a baby. So when Greg goes missing walking their dog, Amy knows someone is behind his disappearance, and she won’t stop until justice or revenage is served.
This is my first Dianne Jeffry book and if most certainly won’t be my last. From the first few page, this book caught my attention and didn’t let go until I finished (which was in one sitting). The characters were well written and developed. So with the Kristen chapters I found myself mad and them with the Amy I found myself rooting for her

Kirsten and Nick are enjoying a weekend away until, on their drive home, they accidentally run over and kill a man. They should call for help – but they have too much to lose, and no one can know the real reason they’re here. Instead, they make a split-second decision to conceal the accident.

Another book with an author I knew nothing of and now I am very impressed, yes it seems the list is going to get longer. Craig Woods is out walking his dog when the unthinkable happens and he is hit by a vehicle and killed. The passengers of the other vehicle, Kirsten and Nick are about to have their lives changed forever, as is Craig's wife Amy. The decisions that Kirsten and Nick now make at the scene of this accident will have long standing effects for all involved.

I didn't particularly care for Kirsten or Nick, they seemed to be quite shallow and definitely would not be on my dinner invitation list. I really did like Amy's character, a very strong woman who is now faced with so much heartache but she decides to try and leave the grief behind so she find out who killed her husband and obtain justice for him. The story builds slowly but then accelerates as the book progresses, I read this in one sitting as I was enjoying it so much and would highly recommend this one to others, I will also be looking up this author and read some more of her work.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions are my own.

This was sucha breath of fresh air for the domestic noir world! A really unique concept and much more than just a thriller

The characters are well written and make such unpredictable choices. They are very human and its easy to relate to the turns of events that they create

The writing style is really easy to get lost in. It's very character based and not quite as fast paced as I prefer but in saying g that, it's very descriptive and you really do get such a clear picture of who these people are and of the world around them. Everything is beautifully brought to life by the author and it just captivates the reader

The plot itsself, as I said is original and it brings to life the elite human experience and doesn't just focus on the thriller aspect or the twists and turns. I was so invested in Amy and her loss and her journey that I absolutely flew through this

While driving home from a getaway, Nick and Kristen accidentally hit a man named Greg walking his dog Rusty in the rain. Nick, being a lawyer, convinces Kristen to remove the body from the road and put him in the trunk. With no body, there is no crime. Amy, Greg's wife, is sick with worry when he doesn't return home. She calls the police, but they don't believe anything has happened to Greg and that he has left on his own free will. As more clues come to light, Amy discovers more about Nick and Kristen and decides to get revenge for what they did.

THE OTHER COUPLE was a riveting story from start to finish. The way Nick and Kristen went on with their lives as if nothing happened was mind-blowing. Poor Amy lost everything and they couldn't have cared less. I was happy with the ending and how Amy was able to plot her revenge. It was clever and smart! I highly recommend THE OTHER COUPLE, if you enjoy engrossing stories that are hard to put down.

This hooked me from the start, the characters were so well written I never knew what they were going to next and that really added to the suspense factor. Also the premise was so good and unlike any other thriller I've read instead it was quite a heart-breaking plot and I was really interested to see how Amy would take her revenge. Overall this was addictive and I didn't want to put it down I just loved all the twists and turns.

The Other Couple by Diane Jeffrey is packed with suspense.
A tense and compelling read.

I really enjoyed this book right from the start. It grabbed my interest and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen.
The plotting is great and the writing is vivid and engaging.
And the characters are well portrayed. They were brought to life by the authors detailed writing style.
This quick thriller is one that will keep readers on the edge of their seat just screaming to figure out what was going to happen in the end.
I didn’t want this book to end so soon.
An engaging read. And I thoroughly enjoyed this compelling and entertaining book.

This book is full of twists and turns but drug on towards the middle. I gave up at 50%. This has a ton of great reviews though so I’d still suggest people check it out!

Is this the best book yet by Diane Jeffrey? Absolutely yes it is!! This is an author who has instantly hooked me with this one. I have been completely obsessed from chapter one.

My heart has hurt for Amy throughout this whole book. She’s a character I’ve instantly felt connected to and this has been a rollercoaster of emotions from the beginning.

A fatal accident sets us on the journey of this book. I absolutely cannot condone nor support the affair taking place. However, the element of deception and secrecy have really added an element to this book. How far will one couple go to protect their affair? An aspect fully explored within the pages of this gem.

This is perfectly paced with enough twists to really make the reader guess. It’s been impossible to predict how this book was going to play out.

Jeffrey has transported me with this book. I have felt as though I’ve watched this play out ahead of me. The writing has transported me and this is a book that is highly addictive.

There is nothing negative I can say about this book. From page one, it’s addictive and enthralling. I have loved everything about this one. It’s a must for fans of the genre.

The story flicks between Kirsten and Amy so we get both of their point of views first hand. Both women are different in character of which Amy is certainly the more likeable of the two.

Kirsten isn’t very likeable. She has it all, a good job, a daughter, a lovely home and a husband who loves her. All of that isn’t enough to satisfy her though so it was hard to have any empathy for her more so due to her involvement in an accident which leaves a man dead.

Amy on the other hand had all my sympathy. Happily married with a baby on the way and whilst she doesn’t have it as easy as Kirsten, she is happy with what she has. I could only imagine how dreadful it must be, your husband disappearing and the not knowing what happened. Being on edge waiting for news and dreading every time the phone rings or the door knocks.

This is a story that will give you food for thought as to what you would do in either of these women’s shoes. As much as I didn’t like Kirsten, I wasn’t entirely sure which way I hoped the story would go. It makes you think of how one decision can change so many lives. The closer Amy gets to the truth, the more nail-biting the story got.

The Other Couple is an edge of your seat read that I raced through as I was so engrossed in what was happening and I had to know how it would end. I read it in one day as it was just too good to put down. The suspense and tension is electrifying and with how the chapters end, it’s impossible to put the book down. The twists are jaw-dropping as I didn’t see any of them coming and I could feel my heart racing as the ending approached. A superb psychological thriller!

Amy Woods was so happy she was cooking lunch for her husband Craig while he was out walking their dog rusty they had just celebrated their 10th anniversary and we’re expecting their first baby. Unfortunately this is the day when a couple on an illicit tryst hit Craig during a rainstorm and put his body in the trunk and took her dog Rusty with them. At first she has no idea what happened to her husband but when the creepy villager Simon tells her he seen them when they were stopped on the road Amy put two into together and realizes it was the Taylor’s who rented her in Craigs B&B. The only problem is Taylor isn’t there surname and she only met Christian the woman when she came to bring the keys back she reports her husband missing and a few weeks later they find his body in the Tim’s Amy is baffled as to how her husband could take the dog out for a walk in North Devon and wind up in a river in London but soon it will all make sense… Kinda it will be up to Amy to figure out the rest. Amy is on a mission at first she wants a justice but one justice doesn’t seem to be attainable due to the perpetrators social status and the fact the man Nick gets criminals off and his every day job so Amy doesn’t see him ever going to jail for his crimes. This is when she decides forget justice she’ll go after revenge.I absolutely love this book I do want to say upfront despite the crazy plot there are no I rolling moments and it seems Diane Jeffrey has dotted every I and cross every T to make for an amazing psychological thriller of a heartbroken widow who cannot move on until someone pays and she gets her dog back. This book says a lot about how some people could want something so desperately while others have it and see nothing wrong with just giving it away this plot is truly devious and what makes it so awesome is it also very logical and it was a book I couldn’t stop reading I spent all of Sunday just to finish it and OMG what a book Diane Jeffries has always been a great writer but I do think with The Other Couple she has totally outdone herself. I received this book from NetGalley and a publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I have never read a Diane Jeffrey novel before but wanted to read The Other Couple as I can not resist a good revenge thriller. This did not disappoint. What an exciting read! Kirsten and Nick accidentally kill a man when they run him over, instead of admitting to their crime they decide to hide what has happened. Amy and Greg have a great marriage, so it’s a surprise when he doesn’t turn up. Who is behind his disappearance and will she be able to get her revenge?

The book doesn’t let go from the first chapter and I could have easily read in one sitting if I didn’t have to sleep and work. The characters are done very well; some really grate on you with their unlikeable behaviour while others you find empathetic to and really want them to succeed. The story is done very cleverly, slowly building suspense and drama. I haven’t got too many negatives when it comes to this, apart from a few small areas being a tiny bit dragged out, and I am so pleased to see I have plenty of other novels by this author to explore. I will be recommending! Thanks to HQ Stories and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this early copy in return for an honest review.

A good read. 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
Kirsten and Nick are enjoying a weekend away until, on their drive home, they accidentally run over and kill a man. They should call for help – but they have too much to lose, and no one can know the real reason they’re here. Instead, they make a split-second decision to conceal the accident. Amy and Greg have just celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. Amy is expecting a baby, and they couldn’t be happier. So when Greg fails to come home from a dog walk one weekend, Amy knows the police are wrong to believe he left of his own accord. Someone must be behind Greg’s disappearance, and Amy won’t give up until she gets justice – or revenge.
If you had nothing left to lose, how far would you go to find the truth?
I felt like ending was abrupt. It could've been better but I loved it.
Order yours.

A young couple are leaving from a weekend away when there is an accident. They have hit and killed the owner of where they were staying. Panic sets in and they quickly decide to take the body with them along with the dog the man was walking. Thing is they aren't really a couple, they are having an illicit affair so have to keep things from their families whilst trying to sort out the ensuing mess. Kirsten has a husband and daughter and now finds herself with the dog. She’s told the family that a friend is very ill and can't look after him. Nick is a barrister, one who has a reputation for getting criminals off and so can't afford any scandal. Amy, the now widow, is determined to find out what really happened to Greg, her husband and Rusty the dog. The police have little to go on as the couple gave false details when booking the holiday let and there is nothing at the scene other than Greggs phone which Amy herself found. Amy decides she is going to find out the truth one way or another.

I really enjoyed this. It begins almost as a domestic drama but there is already that tension between the pages of knowing something is about to happen and how it will pan out. I did feel that Amy should have perhaps involved the police a little more when she was investigating but then again this is fiction and how we all react to a major life change varies added to that all the way through she was very conscious of Nick’s reputation for getting criminals off- pitted against him there was little chance in court. It’s a cleverly thought out plot and one executed very well by a skilful author. A twist or two made this interesting and made me smile. A captivating , heck of a page turner I loved.

Not my usual choice in genres, but a pleasant surprise. As a result this was a very quick read. Character development was strong, and you could choose sides or understand why each person acted/reacted the way he/she did.

Wow wow, what a truly page turning read.

The Other Couple by Diane Jeffrey had everything positive going for it, the right amount of suspense, justice and a layer of revenge mixed together. My favourite genres in books are revenge thrill/suspense and ' the other couple ' had just the right amount going for it.. i finished the whole book in just a matter of hours as i couldn't stop reading it.

The Other Couple is about two couples, one who are hiding secrets and the other are a happily married couple who have the perfect life going for them until it all ends in an accident caused by the other couple. As the story progresses we go on to watch the widow exact revenge on the very people who ruined her life and we get to see how she comes about to doing this and if she does get the justice she is looking for.

Diane Jeffrey wrote the characters very well, i had sympathy and anger towards the different characters and had me rooting for them hoping she got the justice she deserved. I also had a bit of empathy for some of the background characters who were caught in these events that occurred.

Overall the ending i loved and was surprised with how the events spiralled for the characters. A good amount of suspense, full of emotion and this book had me quickly turning the pages to get to the end of the book. A truly amazing read in which i enjoyed every moment of the book, very cleverly written and would recommend to other readers.

It was ok. Two couples intersect via a vacation home and a hit and run. This couple has a LOT riding on this secret staying quiet. As the story goes on, the wife of the victim takes matters into her own hands. She realizes who these people are and plots her revenge. The ending was good. Too drug out for me though.

Woahhhhhhh this is one great story
There is nothing better than a couple of pompous narcissistic selfish characters who are suddenly placed on the back footing as the tables are
turned and the screw tightens re a dastardly deed they covered up, even better when the character plotting her revenge is immediately likeable to the reader and you empathise 100% with her
A full on chilling opening leads to a really well plotted story and a conniving and appealing ending, interspersed with a few teaser chapters ( I shall say no more on that but will become apparent when you are reading it )
This book literally took me over until the last sentence and is a winner of a read, full of emotion churning scenarios and clever joy to read writing, I loved every page

10/10
