At the beginning of the book, the author wrote how to use this book. Designed for toddler who starts to speak, this book helps them to make appropriate sound and gives them confidence & eagerness to talk.

This is a cute picture book with very few words. Kids will like the puppy mess. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a digital review copy.

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This is a very simple story with very repetitive word choice, because it is targeted towards actual babies and small toddlers. It's aim is to help teach these tiny humans words, and I presume the best way to do that is through repetition (I'm not an expert by any means). It is a very fast read (because it's so short and has so few words in it), but that is expected from board books.

The illustrations were big and colorful, but with a slightly wispy feeling to them. This is one of those books that as a parent, you will get tired of reading very quickly, but that your children are likely to request over and over again (even if those requests are simply them shoving said book in your face because they can't verbalize that they want you to read it yet). Although I didn't particularly enjoy the story because of it's intended purpose, I give it 4.75 out of 5 stars.

Holly Rosensweig's "Let's Go, Puppy," is a fun and functional book that can be used to help assist and practice language development for little ones. The pictures are simple (as to not visually bombard the child) and colorful, and the written prompts allow for adults to be creative in how they read this to their youngster. I look forward to more books from this speech-language pathologist.

At the beginning of the book there are strategies to use with young readers, such as early speech sounds. There are cute pictures throughout the book and it would be fun to use with babies who are learning to identify objects.

I was drawn to this book by the puppy on the cover and the fact that the author, Holly Rosensweig, is a speech-language pathologist. With an infant at home who is rapidly increasing his babbling and a dog that he is obsessed with, it was a perfect fit. I appreciated the parent's guide at the beginning, which explains how to expand upon the text in the book by describing images, expanding the words into phrases, or acting out the pages. This isn't something I do naturally with children's books, so knowing that it's built into the book's concept is so helpful. For instance, there are subtle details in the images, like an apple tree, that allows me to have a conversation about apples. The phrases are common, like no, more, and all done, that I could even add simple sign language that we're teaching to it. Overall, a cute book for infants learning to talk.

Recommended age: 0-2 years

Writing style: Simple words and phrases, like "Ready, set, go!" The words are often repeated three times, and some sound words are also included, like a car going "beep beep."

Lexile range (unofficial): 10L - 200L
Decoding difficulty: 1/5
Vocabulary difficulty: 2/5
Sentences difficulty: 1/5
Patterns difficulty: 4/5

Illustration style: The illustrations by Emily Rutherford are simple in a good way. There are only a few elements per page to help a child focus on what is included. The color palette is on the pastel side, which is, again, not overwhelming.

Reality-based: Yes, the book describes a day in the life of a puppy. The puppy eats, plays fetch, walks, gets dirty, bathes, and goes to bed.

A great first words book! This book has simple pictures, easy to grasp concepts that are great to demonstrate to a word learning baby. The story includes many words that babies will say first with a visual demonstration of them in practice. A great primer, made by a speech language pathologist!

This is a cute and concise illustrations tale about a playful puppy's day that can assist in teaching vocabulary and phonetics to toddlers around three years old. The puppy eats, goes outside, and gets dirty, making for a fun and simple story.

I absolutely loved this book. I read this book to my son and he enjoyed the book. The repetition of the words is great for little ones that are still learning how to pronounce words.

This book is so perfect in every way. As a kindergarten teacher, I love that it encourages the child to repeat the words and discuss what is happening in the illustration. The beginning gives you early childhood sounds to practice that are developmentally correct. As a mom, my son loved this book. He had a blast talking about what was happening in the pictures. He also had fun reading the repeated words with me. This book is perfect for all young kiddos and I need more!!!

I love these types of books that lets the reader know how to engage with the book for the greater benefit of the baby in mind! It’s simple yet colorful and every page leaves room for further discussion and repetition from the toddler which leads to them being encouraged to speak. I feel further confident knowing this is a book by a speech pathologist as they are amazing professionals at what they do!

I LOVE this! It's so simple, yet so effective. We practice speech in a lot of different ways in our house, and I love the examples it uses at the beginning to expand on the pages as you're reading. Will definitely purchase!

As a Pediatric Speech Pathologist working with young children and their families, I wholeheartedly recommend this book! I love it! I use books a lot during my therapy and will definitely add this to my library. The author, Emily did a wonderful job of creating a book that lays out great strategies for modeling language and encouraging imitation of words and/or gestures. Let’s Go Puppy is a fun story that provides children with opportunities to anticipate what will happen next! The illustrations are simple, clear and colorful! I would love to see more books written by Emily using other familiar topics in young children’s worlds!

This is the perfect book for my one-year-old! I love that it was written by a Speech Language Pathologist, so it will support my baby's speech and language development. Before the story begins, the book includes simple instructions to encourage early words, such as using the words in the book during everyday routines, naming basic objects as you point to them and encouraging baby to point, acting out actions on every page, and more. The story itself is simple, and the words are easy for baby to learn and repeat. Even though there are not many words in this book, it still tells a cute story that baby can understand. I will definitely be buying this book!
