This is a cute take off on the "Santa Claus" legend, with a lot of craziness and humor to appeal to middle graders. Note: the humor and body function jokes probably will not be as appealing to adults though.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

The perfect Christmas vacation read-aloud has arrived. It's perfect for all ages who can listen to a story on multiple nights.

Max Fernsby and the Infinite Toys is a sort of silly read that kids will enjoy, but I don't see it becoming a classic. This illustrated book is fast-moving with a bit of bathroom humor. Rambunctious elves and a heroic main character make this a fun read.

For those readers who like to read seasonal fare around Christmas time, Max Fernsby and the Infinite Toys is a new offering from a duo who previously worked on the script of Ice Age: The Meltdown. This illustrated book is a quick read that would appeal to the younger spectrum of the middle grade demographic, or perhaps would even be a good read-aloud. The story has a few Roald Dahl characters (think unsanitary and cheap dentists for foster parents), some scenes where the kids versus the bad guys in Home Alone-style, a pinch of body humor, and an orphan, Max, as the hero. While the book doesn’t have the chops to become a Christmas classic, it does have a delightful core concept: a bag that provides a never-ending supply of toys. If that isn’t Christmas magic, then I don’t know what is.

I loved this book. I love everything about it. I love Max and his group of friends. I love the idea of how the next Santa is discovered. I even love how Elder and Skhiff seem to not fit into the North Pole, but sometimes you just need to find the right thing. This book made my heart happy, it filled me with Christmas joy, and just was a pleasure to read. Young readers are going to love Max and all the different antics he gets up to. They are also going to love the beautiful artwork. So excited to recommend it for the upcoming holiday season.
Thank you to Harper Collins Children’s Books and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy.

I love having a fun holiday read aloud for my students. I found this one to be a great combination of entertaining, meaningful and humorous. The characters are engaging. Max really wants a puppy. Max gets a hold of a magic bag that has fallen from the sleigh. The bag becomes an opportunity for Max and his friends to think of others. Max and his friends have the challenge of making sure it is put to good use and out of the wrong hands.

This is already my favorite Christmas book of this year. An easy and fast-read story.

I love the humor, all characters (even the mean ones playing their funny part), and the mishaps that lead to such a great end.
When Max (a 10-year-old orphan) gets his hands on a red bag... that accidentally falls from Santa's sleigh because two elves decided to treat themselves with pizza... for being the first elves to put pants on a moose... Ahahah It's awesome.

All that Max wants is a puppy.
The bag gives Max all the toys he wishes for and gives him and his friends ideas... The bag becomes an opportunity to change the lives of many and bring joy.

Of course that some of the adults are very cranky, mean, and evil. They will try to get their greedy hands on such treasure, will they succeed?

Has nice and fun illustrations. Love the cover
