I started reading this book before I finished the authors other book, the Soul of an Octapus.
I have to say this book is hands down better.

The author stayed on topic with the turtles, the many different species of turtles, turtle rehabilitation and more.
I learned a lot about turtles and how dedicated the people caring for them are.

I applaud the efforts of the volunteers trying to make turtles the best that they can be.

This was an easy read, sometimes difficult when a turtle didn't make it.

Overall a wonderfully enchanting book all about turtles.

Sy Montgomery is one of my favorite authors so I was excited to see Of Time and Turtles on NetGalley (thanks for the ARC!). Overall I would describe this book as a story of rescuing turtles, more than a story of turtles in general. I found the medical details described during the author's time at a turtle rescue center fascinating. There were absolutely details in this book that I have not read elsewhere, and I enjoyed the authors description of not only the turtles she met while writing this book, but the people as well.

The author loves our earth, and it's very evident. Reading of Time and Turtles is almost meditative, and it made me think about nature, our responsibilities and how animals have taken care of this world long before us. Read this book...it's important. Thank you to Mariner Books, the author and NetGalley for an e-ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Sy Montgomery writes the most beautiful, impactful nature/science writing on the planet. I’m convinced if world leaders read her books we would be living in a vastly different, much better world
