The Bone Hacker by Kathy Reichs is another addition to the temperance Brennan series. Although I enjoyed the book for the most part, I was extremely disappointed to see that she included harming an animal. That was a huge deterrence for me. The mystery and investigation were interesting.

Kathy Reichs is a delight.her novel delivered everything on hoped for and more. I eagerly await her next novel,

Book #22 in this long running fan favorite Temperance Brennan series finds our Forensic Anthropologist working on some very unusual.....unusual for everyone except Tempe.....murder clues that will leave her as a target for a serial killer, again. After 21 books, Kathy Reichs still manages to set Tempe into crime scenes that defy explanation by anyone but her. The stories are well plotted, Tempe is an excellent character who will not be under estimated by anyone more than once, and the reveals are always a surprise that will leave you turning back pages to see where you missed the clues. If you've not read any of this series, you can start with this one. Just plan a serious binge weekend or two to catch up with the others.

Tempe solves a few murders in this story set in Turks/Caicos. The medical jargon wasn’t as prevalent in this story of which I was grateful. Once again another great one from Reichs!

In this book we have travel to the Turks Caicos, a serial killer and intrigue. It was a really good story that kept my attention and was fast paced.

I just love this author! Everything she writes is beyond amazing. If you haven't read her books you need to start and not stop until you finish all of them. Seriously, they are so amazing. Great plot, mystery and twists that will throw you for a loop you won't believe. I usually read her books in just one sitting. Nothing else gets done in my house when a new Kathy Reichs books comes out.

I've seen the show Bones, but have to admit this is my first book by Kathy Reichs. I absolutely adore the show itself, and found Temperance's character to be mostly like what I expected. There were some surprises for me though. Temperance goes to the Turks and Caicos to investigate one set of remains, only to find herself helping Detective Musgrove in her own investigation, and what unfolds is a story that is so surreal and simply a stunner that keeps you guessing to the very end. Loved it, and will now have to go back and read the other books in the series.

The Bone Hacker is the 22nd book in the Temperance Brennan series by former forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. She certainly uses her medical training to write about what she knows. Brennan is a no nonsense kind of woman who is smart and always getting into predicaments. This one is different because it is set in Turks and Caicos which made it a great beach read. This book series has been one of my all time favorites and this one didn't disappoint. There were a couple of different mysteries that Brennan must solve and she does so with some help from new friends. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good mystery with interesting details about forensic anthropology.

Book 22 of 22 is still as fresh and interesting as the first book in this exciting series. Kathy Reichs has done it again. This time she is asked by the Lead Detective to come to The Turk and Caicos to investigate some cases that might tie into the body she just found in the Montreal River. Off she goes, leaving Ryan and Birdie in their new condo. The problem with these books is once I start reading, I can’t stop until I finish. So, I finished just in time for dinner. This one is unusual in that there are current murders taking place that may tie in but it’s not clear how. Her intention of flying south sorting out the bones and going home doesn’t turn out the way she planned. Events overtake her plan and she spends a week working with the local police to solve tourist murders from seven years earlier up to the murder two days ago. It is a fascinating story about how much a forensic anthropologist (Brennan) can figure out just from bones. It is a great series and looks like it might go on forever. The TV show ‘Bones’ based on these books may have ended but the source material is still available.

To anyone wondering wether it’s worth it to dive in this late in the game - yes, it’s worth it and totally possible. I have not read all of the other 21 books - I read the first 6-7 right when they came out - then decided it became a bit formulaic and read book #19 years later and now book 22 and it was lovely to be back and to realize that some of the issues I didn’t love were fully resolved. I did love this book ! Author and forensic anthropologist herself Kathy Reichs gives her readers enough information to understand the characters without any big spoilers if you do not want to go back and read the earlier books, or read them later.
Tempe finds herself embroiled in an investigation that takes her from Montreal to the islands of Turks and Caicos. At first the case seems benign and cold enough but quickly things start escalating.

The characters and the fascinating science are the reason that I keep returning to this series. I really enjoyed the tropical island setting in this book as well as the intriguing plot.

If you enjoy a captivating plot with interesting science you will definitely find yourself drawn into this story.

I have read most of the Temperance Brennan series (just missing a few in the middle but I’ll get to them at some point) and there is a reason I keep coming back. Reichs always has an entertaining story with twists I don’t expect. One thing I appreciate about her books is they can be read as stand alones but also cohesively all go together and are not too repetitive for repeat readers. I would have loved to see a little more of other recurring characters though it did not take away my enjoyment. I loved the setting and thought it was such a fun element to add to the book. These are always quick, enjoyable reads for me which is why I keep coming back to them.

I haven’t read all the books in this series but no matter. I slipped into the world of Tempe with no issues.
I loved the island setting of Turks and Caicos! The subject matter is grisly but provocative and I was glued to the pages.
Reich can write crime fiction all day long and I’ll read them.
I was clueless about who the perp was and the wrap up was good.

Since it went off the air, I live for these books as I can still picture all the characters and love the plots and stories in each of these books. Love this author!!

I have a thing for Kathy Reichs' books. It is a Thing because her Temperance Brennan series was the first book series that got me really hooked. Where I was hunting down every book that has ever been published. Where I had a paper pinned to my wall with all the books in order, and I was always on the lookout for when is the next book coming. I have been hooked and addicted to those books for over 20 years now. Wow! And new books keep coming! Please, keep them coming. This is such a rare case where there are so many books in the series and all of them are absolutely, breathtakingly great. This one was no exception. I feel so lucky, and so happy to have discovered Kathy Reichs' writing such a long time ago, each new book feels like a very special treat to me.
I believe each of the Tempe Brennan series books would work as a standalone, but I can’t imagine enjoying it so much if you haven’t read the other ones. So, I will be yelling about this book from the rooftops – with an added note that there are other books to read before you read this one.

Tempe Brennan and Andrew Ryan are out on a boat in Montreal, when a freak storm complete with microburst, turns the outing into a quest for survival. After narrowly escaping injury, it comes as no surprise to Tempe that a drowning victim, possibly the victim of a lightning strike has been found in the river, with Tempe assigned to investigate. As she gets the deceased back to her lab, initial attempts to identify the victim are next to impossible due to its condition, so DNA will be sent. As they examine the body, they discover a small tattoo on an upper arm. Images uploaded to an FBI Database link the tattoo to the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI). A call to the TCI Police identifies the tattoo as a gang insignia and much to Tempe’s surprise, the Detective insists on coming to Montreal. Meanwhile a full autopsy identifies a gunshot wound…and an ID is made by the investigating team. When Detective Musgrove arrives, she tells Temps she is not here for the body – but tells a compelling tale about vanishing US tourists, with two skeletonized bodies recently located – and invites Tempe to TCI to assist. Tempe was at her very best in this book, which is not unusual for her. This case had twists and turns, between the tourists and the boat people, delivering shock after surprise, keeping me guessing all the way to the very scary end. Very scary terrorist ideas which I hope are continuing to be thwarted.

An afternoon spent with Temperance Brennan is rarely a waste. Once again, Kathy Reichs has written an excellent novel worthy of Teme's skill. Her wit is much appreciated. Keep the novels coming please!

While I have probably seen every episode of 'Bones' ,the Dr. Brennan here doesn't seem a lot like the character in the show. This was a first reading of the series and it is easily read as a stand alone. Lots of twists and turns once the story gets moving but it takes awhile from the beginning to get Tempe to where the action is and fully involved. I am somewhat disappointed that there was not as much depth of character and the story was so scattered in places. It does wrap up as a good book, but the writing style was much different that I expected. The French words thrown in since she is in Montreal were a bit of a bother because they didn't all have definition or explanation . Kudos if you know French quips. I was provided an advanced reader copy at my request and was under no obligation to provide a review . Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read the book.

This is a Temperance Brennan book. This one takes place in Turks and Caicos. She is called in to solve a case and goes down to look into several bodies. A very good novel in the series. Highly recommend this to anyone that likes stories about the morgue.

Kathy Reichs is an auto-buy author for me, so when the latest Dr. Temperance Brennan novel was released, I knew I would definitely read it. This one is book 22 in the series and it has all the elements of suspense Reichs is known for: multiple (often unusual) murders, a dangerous villain, break-ins, and a race to solve the crime before the next murder.

The cast of characters is well developed, and as usual, the smart and confident Dr. Brennan describes the victims and the murders. She explains her thinking and the science involved in her work well. I enjoyed the different setting in this book: Turks and Caicos.

Tempe’s boyfriend, Andrew, makes a brief appearance in this novel. I always enjoy their dynamic and would have loved to see more of them in this book. I was disappointed that other recurring characters (Katy, Skinny Slidell) did not make an appearance in this one, but that did not deter from my enjoyment of the book!
