This book went in a different way that I originally thought from reading the blurb. I'm not sure if that impacted my reading experience but it didn't quite pack the punch I was expecting it to. I couldn't warm to the characters and found it a little unrealistic at times. That said, it did have some great twists which made me keep reading and I did end up enjoying. It was a nice palette cleanser and would make a good holiday read. I have read K.L. Stater in the past and I'd definitely pick up another of hers. This one just wasn't for me! 3.5 ⭐️

As I went to pull the link for the book on Goodreads, I was reminded of how many books of the authors that I have read. There have been so many and they are always entertaining.

So not only is the what a mystery but also the why. A slow burn plot that kept me guessing. Told in the past and the present with multiple narrators, I was drawn into both the story and the characters. Filled with secrets and lies, I was always wondering who, if anyone, was unreliable. But of course, I am always thinking everyone is unreliable in a twisty thriller. I fell for a few of the red herrings and no matter how many wacky scenarios I concocted. I did not guess the ending.

If you like quick engaging twisty reads, this one is for you.

As a big K.L. Slater fan, I was so excited for this one.
Slater does a brilliant job of building suspense and intrigue, and I felt seriously uncomfortable throughout this book! So much mystery.
I didn't like the characters much though, and the main protagonist frustrated me a little with her attitude.
The ending was a strong one, and I enjoyed how it all came together.

When I read The Bedroom Window, I really became so interested I felt like I was actually in the cottage, peeking through the spare bedroom window watching the Williams's house!
No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t work out who the third person was, and never would have guessed who they were guarding.
I really enjoyed reading this and have already told my friends they have to read it!

I absolutely loved this book!

It was well written and set at a steady pace that builds the story. I am a huge fan of KL Slater’s books and I enjoy how she always goes back to the past in her stories which helps to lead you but I never seem to guess the correct outcome because there’s always a fantastic twist at the end.

If you love mystery thrillers that are easy to read then this is the perfect book for you. Highly recommend!

A thrilling story. Nothing is at it seems at the beginning. Everyone has secrets. An unexpected conclusion.

Lottie and her husband, Neil have moved to the English coast for a fresh start with their son. Neil is starting is dream job and they are both looking forward to putting the past behind them.
Neil’s employers seem great at first but soon they start to show their true colours and strange things start happening. Lottie is convinced they have a child in the house despite the fact they’ve said they never had any children.
This was a dark, creepy, suspenseful thriller that kept me hooked from the very beginning. There were so many twists and an eerie underlying tension throughout the book. I had absolutely no idea where it was going! Loved it!

A good book, with a good story and a lot of intrigue. I found parts of it very predictable, and have to say I couldn't take to any of the characters. Still a good read that I mostly enjoyed.

I could not put down this totally addictive novel by author Karen Slater! I read it straight through; and even though I figured out the ending in advance, it still was a great read! I particularly liked the protagonist in this story and found myself asking “what would I do if I were her?”

Thank you for my e-copy and for making me part of your tour.

K l slater never disappoints. The cover draws you in .A family have relocated after a hard few years working on the state of the big house. Their new employers seems perfect until little things start adding up. Their reluctance to let anyone into their big house. Then the view from the bedroom window .
A gripping thriller but a slow burner. I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on relationships told from different characters point on view.. It hooked me in more as I could see the story from their point of view and feel their emotions.I was given just enough info about some characters to keep invested in them and it was skillfully dripped in tge right places.
As always the end came too quickly . Can't wait for the next one.
A solid 5 star. Highly recommended. Thank you net gallery.and bookculture for my arc

After a tough couple of years, Neil receives an amazing offer as a grounds keeper. After moving into the provided cottage, which has a view into the boss’ house from their upstairs window, Neil’s wife Lotti starts to see things that make her question everything about this new arrangement.

This is a story full of betrayal, childhood trauma and a twisted ending. The character were flawed and not very likable, but the story itself was interesting,

Lottie and Neil are beginning a new life about two years after Neil suffered a debilitating accident. Now back to almost full health, Neil gets a job as a head caretaker for a wealthy couple named Ted and Neeta. This means that the couple and their small son Albie have moved inter a cottage on the property where Neil will be working. Things seem bleak at the start, but there is promise, even if the couple who own the property seem to be hiding secrets.

One particular window in their cottage affords Lottie the opportunity to see into her neighbor’ home. In fact, she can’t stop observing. The couple that her husband is working for are said to be childless, but Lottie feels differently. She believes there’s a child in the home, and she cannot understand why they’ve never seen the child under any circumstances.

During the course of time, Neeta becomes the child minder for Albie, but Lottie does not really trust the situation. In fact, she does not trust Neeta at all and is determined to discover their secrets and why they are hiding them. Factor in deception and some flashbacks to a couple of decades ago, and things slowly come together. Some shocking twists are revealed, leading to a thrilling conclusion.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest

I loved this book and could not put it down! The plot sounded intriguing but I was convinced it was going to boring and drag but I am happy to say I was completely wrong. This was a quick read with twists and turns with most I did not see coming. I definitely recommend this one for fans of thrillers and will be reading more of Slater's books.

K L Slater is one of my go to authors, she knows how to write a good family drama! I liked the dual timeline in this although I realised right away who the characters from the past were, not sure if it was supposed to be a surprise.
Plenty of red herrings here and it was a genuine surprise to me what the couple were hiding. Quite a sad story ultimately.

Lottie, Neil & their son Albie have had a rough time. Neil has come back from a serious accident that led to doubt he would walk again never mind do the landscape work he loves. Albie has been bullied & become withdrawn & Lotte has struggled to keep the family going. When Neil gets a job as head gardener in a big house on the coast with a cosy cottage included the family jump at the chance of a new beginning.

As Albie goes to school & Neil starts work Lottie is left with time on her hands. As she unpacks she sees the beautiful modern house on the cliff. Seaspray doesn't seem to fit in but she is dying to see inside. Neil's new bosses Ted & Neeta are very welcoming. Albie is really taken with them- especially when Ted offers to help him renovate a tree house on the estate. But they never get invited inside Seaspray. This piques Lottie's curiosity, especially when she finds a half written letter from the person who used to live in their cottage- why did they leave so suddenly? Soon she becomes convinced there is someone else living there & spying on Seaspray becomes an obsession. The narrative switches to another Point of view & time. This time the view of Charlie a long while ago.

As always the story draws you in. I must admit I really didn't take to Lottie & felt sorry for Neil & Albie. I was totally hooked as I have been with all of K. L. Slater's books Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

I am a huge K.L. Slater fan! I love this author so much. Once again, the author wrote an amazing book that I couldn’t put down. The characters were interesting, unreliable, and well developed. The premise and plot were also well developed. I couldn’t put this book down!

Intriguing, thrilling, and unputdownable. Those are the words that aptly describe the first part of the book. I couldn't wait to find out what secrets Lottie's and Neil's employers were hiding. Why would they not let anyone in their sprawling glass mansion? However, the second part of this book was a little too hard to believe. Yes, I know you should suspend disbelief when watching a movie or reading a book, but this one was too far out. Hence, the 2-star rating.
