For the past year or so I've been doing outdoorsy activities with my kids on the weekends to supplement their preschool and kindergarten academic focused time. They love it, I love it, it's sooooo needed. When I found this book I was overjoyed. It was exactly what I wish we'd had when we first started doing these types of things. My youngest is absolutely obsessed with nature, and forest animals are a particular favorite. This book is structured easily to make unit studies of each type of environment and kick off further study for older kids into anatomy and ecology, or animal studies for littler kids. We ended up picking up a hard copy to make things easier for us in the new year. I've always loved Stephanie Hathaway's nature studies, and having a full curriculum has been an asset to our not-so-home school.

A great book to inspire you and your family to go explore outside.

As a homeschool family, we don't venture outside enough. This book provided a good source of inspiration for us to take our school outside for the day.

The book is full of beautiful illustrations and interesting facts about natural environments and what to find.

This is a good nonfiction book on nature topics, which reads a bit like a well illustrated children's encyclopedia or textbook. The activities are not very new or exciting, but it does pack a lot of information in. There are a few typos and one map is given for the wrong biome (grasslands and deserts), which will hopefully be corrected in an updated version.

This is the perfect book for any school library, full of fascinating information and exciting activities to do. I loved the layout of the book, the illustrations were beautiful and it kept me interested throughout. There were lots of great idea here that could be used to enhance a curriculum or could be given to a child interested in nature to extend and challenge them.

A lovely book; would make a great gift!

Thank you Netgalley for offering me a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As I am always on the look out for new program inspiration to do with children through activity and literature, I was happy to come across this beautifully illustrated book regarding the natural world by Lauren Giordano, Stephanie Hathaway and Laura Stroup. This coincided with my review for another book titled "Literacy Outdoors", therefore sparking the desire to explore learning and literacy through nature and observation of the natural world. This book sparks the inner scientist and discoverer in us all. Th illustrations are gorgeous, the content is easy to follow and impactful, and the activities are fun and practical.

The book is divided into 5 biomes as sections; each section will give a quick rundown of the biome, where they can be found in the world, what it composes of, the climate of the biome as well as the plants, animals and insects you might find in them, and activities you can use to learn more about each. Each page is gorgeously illustrated, and informative in a way that would either keep a child engaged in what they are reading, or offer quick and easy to disgest information for those who might be teaching the subject. Outside of the activities given, I found that many of the pages inspired further activities and connections we could engage in based off the illustrations or ways each page was organized.

I wanted to choose a section I loved most or that I wanted to bring attention to the most, but honestly I love it all. It's a beautiful book, one that I will highly recommend for purchase, and that I could foresee being a staple for libraries and classrooms all around.

Thank you for the free read! Publication date July 11, 2023

What a beautifully illustrated book! There are so many ways to use this book and I love a good multi-use book. From reading bits here and there to your children or adding it to your homeschool classroom; this is a perfect addition to any home library. I could see us using it weekly as apart of our nature study with the included activities or simply keeping it on our shelves as a helpful reference.

The layout if very easy to read as well and there is a lot of information packed into each section. The book is divided into 5 biomes and under each you take an intensive look at what exists within that biome. Each section opens with an in-depth description, then takes a look at the ecosystem, the climate/weather, landforms, plants, & animals. The animals are broken down even further. (For example, predators, birds, reptiles/amphibians, & invertebrates) Then each section ends with activities!

Thank you for this lovely addition to any home library!

This is a great book for parents to read with their kids. Whether you homeschool or send your kids to school outside the home, kids of different ages can enjoy it. My kids love going out into nature and learning through what they experience, and this book is really beneficial for them.

This book is absolutely brilliant. As a home educator, I'm always on the lookout for engaging books that will enrich not only my son's education but our lives too. This book meets the criteria.

The chapters are split into certain biomes such as temperate forests and wetlands which is really neat. Within each of those, you're provided with age appropriate information, beautiful illustrations and helpful activities to engage with what you've learnt or if you're out in nature, actually experiencing hands on.

I love Julia Rothman s Nature Anatomy but so often find myself wishing for a book that is equally beautiful but full of information that will help me educate my son on the wonders of the world without being overwhelmed by that information. That wish has been granted, so to speak. I will be adding Nature School to our family's library as soon as I'm able and I'm sure it will be treasured by us for years and many adventures to come.

Found this so charming and informative for all ages! The art is fantastic, it's simple to navigate, and a handy tool for both teaching and pleasure reading if you sometimes wish you'd paid more attention in fifth grade science. Highly recommend for all ages that like to learn!

This book wasn't entirely what I thought it was going to be. It's like a non fiction book about woods/forest areas. I'd say it's more suited to the American market than british too.
