I adore the DI Kim Stone series and am always so excited when a new one is released. Angela never fails to get me lost in a gripping story!

Detective Kim Stone is called out to a murder that took place in a church graveyard. A woman has been brutally stabbed and her mouth was slashed.

The victim is a psychic, who did readings at a party, and not all of the women were happy with their reading. One of the women is the mother of a kidnapped and murdered teenager. The case was never solved.

Not long afterwards, a 19 year old boy is found dead in an alley, also stabbed and his mouth is slashed. He worked at a psychic hotline.

Kim and her team are in a hurry to solve these cases before another psychic dies.

The body of a homeless man is found under a bridge, and Kim wants his next of kin found.

Are all these cases also connected to the man who is stalking Stacey?

I absolutely love Kim Stone. She is a strong, but damaged detective that has a soft heart. She has a team that work together, and in the series of 18 books, all of the characters have been well developed and feel like family.
Angela Marsons definitely knows how to hold my attention, and I recommend her books to the readers in my group all the time.

I can't wait for the next book, as this one had an unsolved mystery, and I know the answers will be in the next book. What a cliff-hanger!

5/5 stars from me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

There are a lot of great books out there and then there are quite some amazing ones too. When I grab one of these gems, like this one, someone might call me to say the roof has fallen down, I would tell them I would deal with that detail later on, after I finished my utterly captivating book. ;)

So yes, Kim, it has been a few weeks, but am I glad to see you and your team again. I have missed all of you so much.

With this story the author entered a world I am interested in too. It fascinates and scares me at the same time. I think some people really have a gift, but lots of them are just faking it. But one big questions arises: does it matter when someone is not genuine, but offers you comfort and reassurances? Is that not exactly what does people are seeking? Sometimes though people are looking for answers nobody can give them and that's when some go through the roof...

Kim and her team are dealing with a vicious killer who does not seem willing to stop anytime soon. They have to find clues and fast whilst having to solve other mysteries too.

Sometimes you see a physic show on TV. I am always wondering: is this what it is, a show or is there more to it? I loved the background information the author added and it clarifies a lot. Still that same questions lingers in my head: genuine or fake? I still believe some people do have a gift.

I loved this book, but that's no surprise. All the books by this author have kept me highly entertained and this one is no exception. So long, Kim. 5 stars

Thank you

Oh my giddy aunt!! Angela Marsons has nailed it again with yet another outstanding book!
I can not believe how Angela manages to find ways to keep readers not only hooked on the series, but totally and utterly enthralled throughout the whole book! Her creativity, writing skills and character development are just off the scale and simply out of this world!

The theme of this book is so captivating that I just didn’t want to stop reading it. It made me question so many things that I believe in and was just so thorough in the thought process behind every aspect of it.

As per usual with Angela Marsons books, there were times whilst reading this book that I had to remember to breathe because I literally felt like I was in the middle of the action and so immersed in the story… and then…. there were other times where my eyes would be stinging as my heart went out to characters within the story. Such brilliant writing which is an absolute joy to read!

This book, without doubt, gets 5 huge sparkly stars!!

Wow what did I just read? This series just keeps getting better with each book. In this one, Kim and her team find themselves with more than one case to try and solve. They use their individual skills so well.

I love all of the team, but especially Stacey. She has come so far and this story sees her pushed further than she could have imagined.

The end of the story promises so much more in the next book, and I am already desperate for it to be written!
One of my favourite series which I can’t recommend enough.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

As fresh and engrossing as number one, this, the eighteenth in the series, is an absolutely fantastic read.
The series just gets better and better. You'd think by now there'd be a sameness but nope it's as original a tale as it's riveting.
Firstly it’s like meeting up with old friends, catching up on their lives, while secondly there’s the urgent race against time to solve the case and stop the killings. Along the way the team ‘pick up’ three additional cases which only add to the intrigue. Set in the world of psychics the main plot is unusual and the research really interesting. I love how even sceptic Kim is left with some sense of belief. On one level the subplot is just a gentle catch up but for one character their whole life is left on a cliffhanger at the end, if only she realised it. Brilliant, brilliant stuff and I’m desperate to find out what happens next .

Kim Stone really can't afford to be sceptical. The current murder victim is a psychic....

Did her death have something to do with her last booking? Was it something to do with the church where her body was found?

Just when she thinks she's getting somewhere, a teenage boy is found dead.

And Stacey's picked up a stalker....

Another brilliant addition to the series

If it was possible to give 6 stars I would
I love a book that doesn’t just entertain but also educates. I often find with Angela Masons’ books that she hits on a subject that I’m either unaware about or naive in my understanding. This was no exception and lead me down a Google rabbit hole.
The storyline is brilliant but what’s even better is at least one of the threads is going to develop in future books, and it could be one of those that creeps along under the surface leaving the hairs on my arms stood up.
Aside from that there’s a two characters that look like they’re going to make life tough for the team in future books.
This is something else Angela is brilliant at, occasionally reoccurring characters, like Dr Alex, who makes returns that leave a chill.
If you are already a Kim Stone fan you will love this book.
If this is your first Stone book I’m almost jealous because you have 17 of the best Crime Thrillers ever written to look forward to whilst catching up.

You'd think by book 18, we'd know how these stories go and then Marsons changes it up, AGAIN. This is another incredible, can't put it down, have to read, don't start before dinner time as the kids won't get fed, book. I love how the back stories of the main characters continue - Stacey and her wife, Penn and his girl (about time he got the girl lol ), even Bryant and his missus yet they don't drag the main action and there is plenty of that. I had no clue who the killer was - of course I thought I did but nope. Wrong. This book delves deep into the Physic world and all that goes with that, the people who do this for a living believing they have a real gift (do they? Well maybe....) and those who did it for pure cash - phone lines.... Kim has murders to solve but she wants to give a John Doe back his name - I love how more "human" Kim Stone is becoming with each book. She always was, but her rough start in life and an upbringing that would have killed most, meant she hid her real self. But with the help of various people along the way, she is starting to trust the world - a little bit at a time. Old favourite characters make a reappearance - Fabulous book but how on earth am I going to wait to see what happens next. Meanwhile I'm checking windows are closed and curtains drawn - thanks for that - NOT lol. Highly recommended

It is not often that a series can be 18 books in and still be going strong. This book dropped onto my kindle on Saturday morning and I started and finished it the same day. I cannot get enough of Detective Kim Stone and her team. I do believe that all 18 books have been 5 stars reads. Now if that doesn’t make you want to read it I don’t know what will.

Kim is called to the scene of a murder in a church graveyard. The victim is a well known local psychic. As always there are plenty of directions that this case will take the team, and Kim being who she is, will find a few tangents to go off on as well. We see some familiar faces return to assist in this case and have an ending that has me busting for book 19 already.

A lot of what makes these books so incredible is the characters. The team know each other so well, and lol out for one another. Their banter is fun, they work together so well and you really care about them as a reader. There is humour thought this book, while dealing with such dark cases. You don’t get that very often in crime fiction and it works so well.

Thanks so much to the lovely team at Bookouture for approving my request for this book so quickly. An absolute pleasure to read and review these books. Deadly Fate publishes on May 25th.

With thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for the advanced copy. It is rare to find a series with 18 books that are amazing but even rarer to find one where each book gets better than the one before it. The more we learn about detective Kim Stone and her team the more we discover about her personality. The fleshed out nature of her characters really sets Angela’s books above all others for me. This one involves a very interesting subject matter and something relevant to current society. I would highly recommend this book and wait with baited breath for the next one in the series.

When the body of local psychic Sandra Deakin is discovered, DI Kim Stone and her team realize they are facing a brutal killer. Despite evidence that the victim fought valiantly, the number and manner of stab wounds proves a vengeful killer.

Kim is determined to find the killer, all while finding the motive that was behind killing the psychic. Meanwhile her team is looking into other cases, so they are as busy as ever, and after a second psychic’s body is found, Kim is more determined than ever to solve her latest case.

I am not sure how Angela Marsons does it, but she grabs the reader’s attention from the very first page and the tension increases page after page. While Kim’s case is paramount, Penn is looking for answers after the body of a homeless man was found. Meanwhile, Stacey is facing a hairy predicament. These cases may have been separate, but the bond and connection between Kim and her team is undeniably strong. And the conclusion! Waiting for book nineteen will be brutal!

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Firstly I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I have read all of the Kim Stone books and loved them and this one was no exception. It was phenomenal and as always it hooked you in from the first page and kept you enthralled until the end. I literally cannot wait for the next one.

What can you say after 18 books? This series is amazing. These books never get old, that’s for sure. The mystery is fresh, with twists that you don’t see coming. The characters are still great. Honestly, I could keep reading this series up to book 50. My favorite DI series ever.
