Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe is the perfect combination of romance and comedy! This novel has such an interesting premise; Brooke Baker, a famous author accidentally sends her editor, Chase Dawson, the not so safe for work book that she wrote. Chase loves the book and can’t wait to begin working on it, the thing is Brooke has a huge crush on Chase and wrote the book about him!

I enjoyed reading this book and appreciated the dedication that the authors had to giving each character a thorough and complete backstory. The interactions between Chase and Brooke were so much fun to read, especially as Chase is giving his all to make this book a success and Brooke wishes she double checked the attachment. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a slow burn, romance, and comedy.

I enjoyed the narration by CJ Bloom and Joe Arden. CJ Bloom really brought Brooke to life and incorporated so much emotion into her narration of the novel! Joe Arden did a good job of bringing Chase to life, even down to the accent!

Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for the advanced copy of this audiobook. All opinions expressed are my own.

It hurts me to say that this book didn’t work out for me. Now I’ve read and enjoyed some of Max Monroe’s books and I wasreally looking forward to this story. But I dnfed at 58 percent. As much as I tried to finish it, it was a real struggle. The premise was good and I did enjoy the first 30 percent of the book and narration was really good. Unfortunately this book was far too long! Even after reaching 58 percent, nothing really happened and most of the scenes up until then seemed more like fillers. I kept thinking that things would speed up or that something would happen. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and I just couldn’t continue with this book. This book had a lot of potential but dragged on way too long with unnecessary fillers.

So... the most important part has actually already been said in the synopsis - Brooke Baker, a successful author of paranormal novels and an upcoming Netflix series, is in love with her editor, who looks like her wet dream and more. She has to send to her publisher the promised sequel to the popular first book, but even she knows that the sequel is rubbish and not worth publishing at all, but the deadline is about to fall. So she grabs a couple of cups for encouragement, reads over the last chapter of her secret fanfiction, and sends off the first draft of her paranormal book to her editor. But it wasn't the first version of the paranormal book, it was her secret wet dream that she had put down on paper. The editor thinks it's a bit weird and not at all what was promised, but still goes to the publisher's meeting and sells the idea, putting his head and a new job on the line.

And if that's not enough to make Brooke's fainting problem worse, she also has to go on a cross-country tour promoting the Netflix series, and since she doesn't dare fly, she's rented a camper van, with Chase jumping behind the wheel so they can edit the new book one on the way

What follows is the classic sizzling story of would-be lovers put in a closed room, where the main part of the drama is that one party is lying/hiding something from the other party, and when it comes out, their future relationship is in big question. And to make the whole story hotter, chapters from Brooke's wet dream are interspersed between the main story.

This is not a book to listen to in public unless you're used to turning a stone face on while reading a book. :) A good change between crime books.

Hits send.cancel.Cancel.CANCEL.Your file has been delivered. OH SHHHHHHHHH¡T

Brooke is in for the biggest plot twist of her life when she accidently sends her new VERY attractive editor, Chase Dawson the wrong manuscript for her new book. WHOOPS! But it's too late now he loves it and she's far too booked up to stop the process. Scheduled to go on tour for her recent release, with Chase in tow, these two are in for a ride and possibly a love of a lifetime

Okay but why was this so perfect??

The chemistry, the banter, the humor, the quirkiness, the audio. All perfect!

Being instantly pulled in by that accidental fanfic attachment, The pages just kept turning with the intrigue getting higher and higher the farther into the story I got

Getting to know these characters personalities in a forced proximity really has you connecting with them in such a way, there's no way you won't be rooting for their happily ever after the entire way

CJ Bloom really grasped ahold of Brookes quirky personality and made it her own while Joe Arden brought the hotness and swoon worthy Chase to life.(I promise I'm not just using you for your sexy voice Joe...eh scratch that, that's a lie yes, yes I am) But these two really had you laughing out loud one minute and tearing up the next while simultaneously just falling in love with this plot and characters all around

A huge thank you to @MaxMonroe and @netgalley for NOT accidently sending me an advanced readers copy and advanced listeners copy in exchange for my honost thoughts and opinions

I love reading Max Monroe's books; however, this one missed the mark for me. Though there are some funny moments, witty banter, and a super cute service dog, the storyline left me wanting more. It's a super slow burn, which I don't mind, but it made the story drag on, and I kept wondering if we were going to get anywhere.

Narration is performed in dual POV by CJ Bloom and Joe Arden. I adored CJ, who brought all of Brooke's quirks to life. I absolutely loved her. Joe Arden does a great job as Chase, but at times, I felt his performance was a little over the top.

Narration was great! They brought the story to life and made it enjoyable to listen to.

You will have to prepare your self for a slooow burn tale. But it’s well worth it.
Brooke is a little on the quirky side and if that’s your thing you will love her!

Ended up listening to about 60% of this audiobook and I just couldn't continue. It wasn't the narrator's fault. In my opinion they were doing an excellent job but the story just didn't capture me. The blurb of this book is the whole story. You seriously don't need to read it to find out what happens so when I continued listening I just felt bored.

This is my first book by this author duo, and unfortunately, I just could not get into it at all. I could not connect to the main character and found her a touch annoying.

This was a cute story and CJ Bloom and Joe Arden did a fantastic job bringing these two characters to life. I love a good forced proximity road trip romance. Recommend this one for sure!

I loved this book from Max Monroe! The narrators were excellent and the story had me at the edge of my seat. I can't wait for more from them!

3.75 stars. I just updated my review for the book after this, Best Frenemies. I liked that one a little more. I love the co-author energy. Brooke submits the wrong manuscript to her editor. She hs a secret crush on him. Not only that, the manuscript has Chase - her editor, as the subject of her book!
Chase is a true Cinnamon Roll hero. Brooke has a medical condition which causes her to need a service dog. She never gives the impression, poor me. She just deals with it the best that she can. There's a lot of funny moments and fairly dry humor.
Narration was great by CJ Bloom and Joe Arden.

I've previously reviewed the eBook version of "Accidental Attachment". My thoughts on the overall story/plot are the same. Overall, I did like the story; however, it didn't pick up until the 45%–75% mark, when I felt like the story was finally getting somewhere. I love a good slow burn, but this was a bit slow for me personally.

For this review, I'll be commenting on the narration and performance of the audiobook. I am so thankful for this audiobook version. Both narrators (CJ Bloom and Joe Arden) did an amazing job bringing this story to life. I think the personalities really match the vibe of the characters the narrators had to portray.

Story 3.5/5 Overall performance: 4/5

Review: Accidental Attachment - Max Monroe

I was very lucky enough to receive this as an audiobook ARC.

And Chase Dawson may be the hottest man alive and a super-talented editor to boot, but he’s completely oblivious that he’s the star of the manuscript he just convinced his boss to green-light. Brooke Baker has been through a lot in her thirty-one years of life. A divorce. A career change. A move to New York City from “small-town” Ohio. Not to mention, she has a bit of a medical condition that involves occasional fainting spells, mild embarrassment, and the companionship of her adorable service dog and canine sidekick, Benji. But none of it has prepared her for this. None of it prepared her for Chase Dawson. Strong jaw, blue eyes, cut muscles, and a perfect swoop of superhero-worthy black hair, Chase’s features are those of a book boyfriend and then some. Obviously, Brooke would know—she literally filled an entire manuscript with it. A manuscript no one was ever supposed to see. Will she survive two months of revising and editing the sizzling romance she imagined with Chase in extremely close quarters with him? Or will the constant white lies and overwhelming attraction make her spontaneously combust?

The story explores themes of self-discovery, taking chances, and embracing one's uniqueness. Brooke's journey to finding her voice as a writer and learning to navigate her medical condition adds depth to her character arc.

Max Monroe's writing is engaging and humorous, making "Accidental Attachment" an enjoyable and lighthearted read. The story's pacing keeps the reader invested in Brooke and Chase's evolving relationship.

Accidental Attachment" is a fun and heartwarming romantic comedy with endearing characters, witty dialogue, and a unique premise. Fans of workplace romance and rom-coms will find this book to be an entertaining addition to their reading list.

I definitely recommend this book!!

The premise for this book was SO MUCH FUN! A romance writer with writer's block fantasizes about her editor and then writes about it and accidentally sends it to him! Cue all sorts of uncomfortable awkwardness. Steamy but full of heart. I really enjoyed the unique disability rep and her service dog and thought this was good on audio narrated by favs Joe Arden and CJ Bloom. Two thumbs up from me despite feeling it was a tad longer than it needed to be. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

A slow start that led to a slow burning, but more than satisfying ending.
A little too much ground laying at the beginning for me, but after that, I was invested. The book had an interesting take on the enforced proximity trope as Chase finds himself driving the motorhome around the country so that Brooke Baker can promote the Netflix series based on her award winning books. The book series that she should have been continuing to write when instead she wrote her novel focusing on the fantasy relationship between her and Chase. The very book she also accidentally sent to Chase (as her editor).
This being a rom-com Brooke doesn't confess her error, or her feelings, whilst Chase similarly tamps down his own growing longings for Brooke. Throw in an adorable service dog that helps Brooke cope with her illness and the road trip is bound to get bumpy. I'll let you find out for yourself whether the journey took them to heaven or hell.
I liked both main characters and let's face it what girl wouldn't fall in love with Chase, he was the perfect book boyfriend, both on the page and off.
As I listened to the audio-book a shout out to CJ Bloom and Joe Arden as the narrators, they brought the book to life perfectly and I will admit that Joe's growl brought me to life too!
A perfect romantic, escapist read, with just the right amount of misdirection and angst along the way.

I listened to this as an audiobook and loved the two narrators. The storyline kept me interested and the characters were developed with their own flaws, insecurities, quirks, and humor. It took me a while to warm up to Brooke. She seems so insecure and flighty and quite immature, but I think the author slowly uncovered why she was like that which warmed me up to her after a while. I thoroughly enjoy the back and forth first person narration.
