Sighhh. I loved this story and these characters! I laughed out loud multiple times because Brooke gets herself into seriously funny, awkward situations.

The premise of the story was different and I enjoyed a new take on the forbidden and forced proximity tropes. Brooke is an author with a book deadline. She drunkenly sends her editor a very different book that she wrote about their (nonexistent) steamy relationship. Chase actually loves the book and fights for getting it published. Of course he doesn’t know the book is based off him! Hilarity ensues as the two take an RV on a media tour, while trying to finish editing the new book. It is a slow burn with lots and lots of tension between the two characters. I always appreciate disability representation. Loved Benji and his side story 🥰 I do feel like the conflict and resolution was a bit rushed but I’m all for the HEA!

As always, I enjoyed CJ and Joe narrating! Two names I always look for when searching for new books!

This book was fantastic, but I wouldn’t expect anything else from Max Monroe!!!
This book was funny, made me laugh out loud several times, made me swoon, and had a great dog character - all the things that make for a wonderful story!!
Brooke was actually very relatable. She was creative but an introvert. She had achieved success in her career but didn’t think she deserved it. She was beautiful but didn’t think she was. She is all of us! And she was funny!!!
Chase was painted, by Brooke, as the perfect man. Which he was perfect, for Brooke. He had his flaws but he was such a wonderful person that it was easy to overlook them.
Watching them fall in love like River and Clive do was just so much fun!!! And getting to know both of their families was entertaining too! The bonus epilogue was priceless and promises a book for Brooke’s sister, Sammy, just made my day!!! I can’t wait!!

This was a fun one! Max Monroe never disappoints and never ceases to make me laugh. If I need something to read after a heavy emotional book, she is one of my go to's. The female protagonist was quite annoying at times but I think it was all part of her character. I give this one 3.5 stars. I'll round up to 4. Thank you Netgalley and Max Monroe for the opportunity to listen to the audio.

This was cute. Brooke is a fantasy writer and drunk off the disappointment of writing a terrible spin off, she attaches her own personal manuscript of the things she wants to do to her editor on accident at deadline. The worst part is that he loves it and immediately pushes it through to publication while she marinates in her own horror.

Since the turnaround time is so short, she ends up sharing an RV with this man so they can work on edits in between her scheduled book tour and this does truly wonderful things for both her crush on him and her chronic condition where her blood pressure will literally lay her out if she gets too triggered. They of course keep everything totally profesh except for the part where they start hooking up at the end of the tour.

I loved Chase. He was never anything other than her number one cheerleader and spoke of her with admiration both in his mental dialogue and any opportunity he had out loud. He did stand to benefit from the book but this book didn't feel transactional at all. He thought the book was going to do well so he wasn't worried about the rest of it.

Narration: She had Joe Arden work on this one. 'Nuff said. I do very much wish it was duet though because CJ's Chase voice sounded a smidge smarmy at 2.0 speed and it hurts me to say that.

Thank you to Max Monroe and Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.

If you aren't typically an audiobook person...I would highly recommend giving this one a chance! CJ Bloom absolutely nails Brooke Baker and all of her quirky traits. Brooke is a successful author, she has published two books and is "supposed" to be writing the third in the series...but she thinks it's garbage and decides to drink excessive amounts of alcohol to get through the draft that her publisher is expecting...easy enough, right? Wrong!! She ends up sending a story based on her unrequited love for said publisher...Chase Dawson and the best part, he absolutely loves the manuscript and convinces the publishing house to move forward in the new direction.

Chase Dawson is trying to prove himself at his new publishing house...and he is beyond thrilled to be working with Brooke Baker. Joe Arden did a wonderful job of voicing Chase as well as the numerous characters throughout the book, you will hear some Southern Twang with Chase and I adored it.

This is performed in dual narration, so you are gifted with all of CJ's talent during Brooke's POV Chapters, the dialogue that occurs between Brooke and her dog Benji were definitely a highlight for me! And Joe takes on the Chapters in Chase's POV. I will stand by my comment that when dual narration is done well I prefer it over duet...but I know everyone has the right to their own opinion.

I feel like this does need a disclaimer that it is a slooooooooooooooooooow burn. But Max Monroe did such a fabulous job of making that an integral part of the story.

This was my first title by Max Monroe author duo! This was a pleasant surprise. I probably wouldn’t have chosen this for myself if it wasn’t for narrator Joe Arden. He and CJ Bloom brought this to life. The emotion Arden brings to the story is so worth it. So glad I chose to listen to the audiobook over reading the book!

I enjoyed the narration for this audiobook. It was a cute quick romcom. But the inner monologue of the FMC drove me a little crazy. I had a hard time feeling a connection between the two main characters. I liked it but didn’t LOVE it.

I enjoyed elements of this book but overall I found it a little lacking. Brooke’s narrative actually irritated me initially as it felt quite shallow and one dimensional. This improved as the story went on and a little more complexity was introduced to her character. The black moment didn’t really work for me but to avoid spoilers I won’t detail why. I also found there was a LOT of unnecessary repetition throughout, and I feel the book would have benefited from this being culled. It also bugged me that the book within the book was called Accidental Attachment, which is quite clearly what happened to them IRL, but none of them ever comment on that fact. That didn't make any sense to me.

All in all, a fun but flawed read.

First I want to start off by saying thank you to NetGalley for the arc copy for my true and honest opinion.

Let’s get into it. This book is a solid 4 stars. This was adorable, and I have to admit I really enjoyed this book. Really cute Romcom if you are in the mood for light and fun. Let’s start off with all the things I loved about this book. The hero! He is such a cinnamon roll hero and will be going down as a favorite book boyfriend of the year. I really do enjoy Max Monroe’s writing style and the two of them together really can tell a great story. I just love the premise of the story. About how you have a big time author who accidentally attaches the wrong file. And I just love an adorable service animal!

The reason why it did get only 4 stars was because it was pretty predictable. I would have enjoyed maybe one twist in there. The second reason had do with the heroine’s decisions I was not a huge fan of. Even though she had a strong personality she reacted to things that could have been conveyed as mean.

But overall would I recommend this book? YES! Can I see Max Monroe as a comfort read? Absolutely!

4.5⭐️ 3🌶 👉 synopsis

"You're clearly too nice, and perhaps worked at Chick-fil-A at some point in your life?"

Q: What is your favorite Chick- fil-A item?

Alright let’s just start with the elephant in the room. This book is thick. I’m talking 500+ ish pages. Did the scare us? Hell yes it did! But we trust Max and Monroe and did the thing we hate most, made a commitment (eww 🤣) that we would dive in.

Let me tell you, these ladies did not let us down! This book was freaking hilarious and had us laughing out loud. On top of that, we of course get some spice too 😏

Brooke is an author who accidentally sent her super steamy secret manuscript to her hot editor, Chase, who does not know that he is actually the main character and Brooke’s crush. Even better, he LOVES the book and is going to publish it🤣

Brooke is next level awkward, has a service dog to because she faints at the most embarrassing moments, (like when she is around her crush) and it is amazing. Add in all the forced proximity with Chase (working on the sexy book that Brooke wrote about him while trapped in an RV together!!) and I could not get enough of these two.

Im glad I did this as an audiobook. I think CJ Bloom has a great voice for the quirky, sassy, slightly hysterical FMC, and I thought the male narrator was a great choice for Chase.

I loved the premise of this book, and it was quirky, playful and full of pinging between the main characters and pop culture references. I always love an animal aspect, and Benji the service dog didn’t disappoint.

While I enjoyed the book, I just don’t think the humor was for me and I felt it was a little longer than it needed to be. Brooke has a lot of inner monologue. I 100% understand the great reviews, and I love Max Monroe’s other works, but this just wasn’t my favorite by these authors. I didn’t connect with the FMC very much and her personality was a little too much for me. All personal preferences. I didn’t realize that for the length of the book that it would be such a SLOW burn. After reading the blurb I was hoping for something a little steamier.

First and foremost, I love Max Monroe. I've been a fan since the beginning. That being said, this book just didn't do it for me. It was WAY too long and drawn out. I mean, the audio was 12+ hours and I feel like this should not have been longer than 7 or 8 tops. The conflict towards the end was too forced and overexaggerated. It was like...really? That's what you guys want to fight over?

The audio was pretty good. Of course, love Joe Arden. I think a *tiny* detail annoyed me and that was that when CJ Bloom spoke as Chase, she gave him a southern accent. Joe Arden had a teeny tiny twang occasionally, but not as much as CJ had when she voiced Chase. I still enjoyed the narration though.

Brooke Baker is a successful author, whose fantasy series is about to become a Netflix show. When it comes time to submit the manuscript to the upcoming book in her series, she instead sends a copy of her fanfic about her and her editor Chase Dawson.

I really like the premise of the story, but I wasn't swept away by it. The writing itself is fine and aims for a very quirky yet relatable tone, while the characters are likable, but again, nothing that really stands out. As someone who enjoys fanfiction and heard a lot of praise for this book, I just expected more. To be honest, I'm not sure you could really call what Brooke wrote a fanfic. After all, her characters are meant to be stand-ins for her and Chase, but they live different lives from who they are based on. Plus, can it really be fanfiction when there is no fandom for them?

Anyway, I'm getting lost in the weeds. Point is, Accidental Attahment is a serviceable romance. The relationship has some nice build up and some spice, and it's pretty cozy. If the summary sounds appealing to you, then odds are that you will enjoy it.

Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe leaves me torn. I enjoyed Chase/Joe Arden's perspective but feel Brooke/CJ Bloom tried too hard to be funny and overly sarcastic in an unrealistic way. I am also confused as to why CJ uses a prominent southern accent for Chase but Joe doesn't.

I enjoyed the building of their friendship, as well as the tension and romance between them, but I walked away wishing I could have read the manuscript as it seems to have more of the latter than the actual book. Overall, I give Accidentally Attachment 3 stars.

Thank you to Max Monroe LLC for providing me with an ALC.

This book has a good concept and is very easy to read. I do think the plot is highly predictable with no twists or unexpected sub-plots, so would not recommend if you tend to like more suspense. The main characters are likeable and their chemistry is enjoyable to read, but the main star of the show for me is Benji!! Overall nice book although not the type of book I would say I prefer.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this to review.

Brooke Baker is a successful writer who is about to turn in an absolute flaming piece of garbage to her new very hot editor when she decides to indulge in a little too much wine and accidentally ends up sending him the self insert romance she wrote about them in her downtime. Chase, not realizing the mistake Brooke has made, takes it upon himself to champion this new book and gets the publishing company to approve the change as long as they can get it released with a short turn around to capitalize on her upcoming streaming adaption of her book series.

When the streaming service announces they want her to be on the road to tour before the release, Chase volunteers to drive the tour bus to allow them more time to edit. Brooke is pretty sure she there’s no way she will survive this tour with close proximity to the guy of her (dirty) dreams, especially when he proves to be just as swoony IRL.

I was not prepared for this slow burn. Like this is a slllooooowwww burn. So please just know that these authors are going to make you really wait for it. You were warned.

Okay now let’s get to the fun stuff. I am always a fan of a cute animal side kick and her service dog was the absolute best. I loved how well they portrayed the bond between Brooke and Benji and even gave him his own side plot as well. I truly don’t blame Brooke for falling for Chase because, same. He was so sweet, caring, funny and understanding for like 90% of the book and it was impossible not to adore him. I did feel like his reaction during the main conflict was a little out of character and honestly detracted some from my enjoyment of the book. I just didn’t feel his level of response made sense with what we knew about his personality up to that point. I was glad with how everything worked out by the end though.

The narrators did an excellent job portraying these two. CJ Bloom really captured Brooke’s zany and manic personality. My only complaint is that the MMC had an accent that was present at the beginning, kind of faded in the middle and then returned at the end. It was a little odd that it wasn’t very consistent throughout.

If you love quirky main characters, adorable doggy side kicks, a swoony male lead with golden retriever energy and you don’t mind a super slow burn then I think you’ll enjoy this one!

Accidental Attachment is a fun, light-hearted romance. The main female character is Brooke, an introverted author working to finish her next novel. With a nonnegotiable deadline approaching, Brooke drunkenly attaches the wrong manuscript when sending an email to her editor, Chase. He reads the novel and loves it so much, he persuades his boss to send it into print. This is awful news for Brooke - the file she sent Chase is actually the super steamy novel she has been writing on the side - featuring Brooke and Chase as the inspiration behind the story's main characters. As if her luck couldn't get any worse, Brooke is then sent on a cross-country book tour with Chase volunteering to be her driver and solo companion. How will she get out of this one?

I selected this book looking for a light-hearted, fun romance and that is exactly what I found. The premise of the book was cute and unique compared to other romance books I have read and I found the story to be the perfect romantic read for those who enjoy "cozy mystery" books. The author sets the initial tone of the book to be very low stakes and honestly, it is refreshing to read something remotely drama-free.

With that said, this book is not for readers who are looking for surprising plot twists or character angst. The story moved along at a nice clip and kept me interested, but didn't have the "Oh No" feeling I'm used to. Yes, Brooke sent the wrong story to Chase but the characters' names were changed. How would anyone know the story behind the novel unless Brooke told them? When considering this, Brooke's level of terror about the novel feels a little overdone. Honestly, I would have liked this story just as much (if not more) if Brooke would have accepted the error and the fact that Chase enjoyed it so much. The author might have missed an important romance trope by not focusing more of her attention on the forced proximity factor between Brooke and Chase.

I read this story in audiobook form and am glad I did. Brooke (voiced by CJ Bloom) sounded exactly as I expected and the comedic timing/sarcastic tone used by Bloom made the story funny and easy to listen to. This is my first audiobook with Joe Arden, and he was spectacular as the character of Chase. I enjoyed the dual narration, with separate male/female voices for each chapter. However, I will always prefer duet narration and this book is a great example. I think having Arden voice Chase throughout the book, even in the chapters from Brooke's point of view, would have been much easier for listeners. Bloom does her best at separating the characters, but there is nothing like the Southern accent that Arden has perfected here.

"Sending the book was an accident, but you and I were meant to be."

This book was so funny and sweet. Brooke and Chase were just so cute together. I love the workplace romance trope, add in forced proximity and a cinnamon roll MMC and I'm all over it.

Brooke is an author whose bestselling series is being turned into a Netflix show. She's having a hard time writing the spinoff of that series and after a drunken night, accidentally sends the wrong manuscript about her editor, Chase, to him instead of the spinoff he's expecting. When Brooke meets with Chase, she still doesn't know she sent the wrong file. Chase is raving about the new direction, Brooke is mortified. Chase is so excited about the book he convinces the publisher that her book is the next best seller.

Netflix has arranged a cross country tour for Brooke to promote the new show. Chase volunteers himself to drive her in an RV with her service dog so they can edit the book together. Will Brooke survive the extreme close proximity with her crush? Will she tell Chase her new book is in fact about him and her? Read this book and find out!

I laughed so much with this book, Brooke is the funniest FMC and Chase was just so damn sweet. I fell in love with not only Brooke and Chase, but Brooke's service dog, Benji.

The narrator's were perfect for this book, Joe Arden and CJ Bloom were fantastic for Chase and Brooke.

My first Max Monroe book and won’t be my last. I loved this rom com book! It’s funny and enjoyable to listen to. In the story, Brooke is a writer and has hit a rut in her writing. She is due to turn in her next spin off book. In her writers block she wrote a creative manuscript of a story about a character that’s based on her and her crush who happens to be her editor, Chase. This story is different than she normally writes and is spicy. It’s meant to be just for her eyes only that is until she accidentally attached this spicy book in an email to her editor instead of her next spin off book. The editor absolutely loves the book and wants to get it published. He has no clue that the main guy character is him in the story. The story between Brooke and Chase unfolds from there. I loved the close forced proximity of the two main characters with the RV setting and tour across America. Brooke has a book that has been turned into a Netflix series and she is doing a tour across America to promote the upcoming show. Benji is such a lovable dog character. I really loved how the relationship unfolds between Brooke and Chase and the tension. I listened to this book on audio. CJ Bloom ad Joe Arden did a wonderful job with their narration. You could really feel the tension, and emotions in their telling of the story.
