I love reading swoon worthy romance books set during the holiday season and a "Cowboy Country Christmas" did not disappoint! The plot was fast-paced and I really enjoyed Holt and Lainey's story.

If you enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies I would say that you would love this book. It has popular tropes such as small town romance, second chance and a grumpy sunshine pairing.

I look forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you Jennie Marts, Net Galley and SourceBooks Casablanca for providing me with an ARC of this book!

I received this book from NetGalley.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love a romance novel like this one. Romance AND Christmas?! Sign me up. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I like that Holt opened up quite quickly and there wasn't a long time of him being broody as there often is in these kinds of scenarios.

I also like that Lainey was also immediately open towards him, despite the past.

While I was enjoying the story, it went downhill for me when Lainey wasn't understanding of the fact that Holt was hurt and had his heartbroken too. Yes, she went through a rough patch but she also never told him anything about it. At least she knew the circumstances for her leaving, he didn't. Even though this only took up a short part of the book, I was annoyed by it. Then Holt bends over backwards to show her how much he loves her and she's upset because he wasn't at the dance. Overall, good but for me just an unfortunate turn of events near the end
