Life got chaotic for me in the months leading up to the book’s pub date and I didn’t get a chance to read it and I’m not sure when I will be able to do so. I will keep it on my TBR.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC and my sincere apologies for not reading and reviewing prior to publication.

When it’s a story about a twin swap to go out with a guy who unbeknownst to the twins has lost his wife to cancer and has two daughters you just know things are going to go downhill at some stage. That dynamic was a knife to my gut.

You or Someone Like You sees Sloane pretend to be her sister Margeaux on a date with Roman. Roman is related to Margeaux’s boss and she thinks by dating him she will have a better shot at a promotion. But she’s sick the night if the date and tells Sloane to go … but not to be interesting, so he won’t want another date.

Aside from Margeaux being a shitty sister and a shitty employee and all-round shitty person, we see Sloane be the complete opposite, where as far as Margeaux is concerned she’s a bit of a doormat. She begins to enjoy spending time with Roman even though there’s a tenuous connection in their past.

What was unique about this book was Roman’s connection with his dead wife, his connection with his kids and prioritising them - and a good look at grief from this guy’s perspective. If you read this authors note at the end you get a glimpse of some of the emotion behind that (real tears flowing in reading that).

I’m not a fan of the twin thing usually as adults … like a grown up freaky Friday or something and Sloane knew against her better judgment that she wasn’t doing the right thing. I still liked the book and their connection, with the possible divine intervention from Roman’s Emma in heaven.

It wasn’t heavy on the sexy times (and maybe might have done with a little more) but I’m sensing the idea was the intellectual nature of their relationship first… though it seemed liked some time they were together?

Well worth picking up if you like a single dad, little lies that turn into big drama-type scenarios.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

It was ok. I found myself having to force myself to continue to read it, especially in the parts with both sister.

The character development and storyline were great. often it is always the same to read with the big CEO and the aspiring woman.
In fact, I love the way their careers and finances/wealth has been handled. There wasn't a major point of contention in the plot, which was very refreshing. (I won't say I don't like a good power struggle romance, but it can get a bit monotonous at times.)

The twists and turns around the artist Halcyon was surprising, but gave the whole story an extra kick.

It's a short, in-between book, but it's well-written and action-oriented.

Have fun reading!

Why would someone pretend to be their identical sister for months? It was just ridiculous to me. The real Margaux was awful to Sloane. The Halcyon reveal was so predictable. Easy read, but not my favorite.

Signs point to an HEA

You or Someone Like You is a twin swap romance. Some lies told and some hearts broken but in the end it doesn't even matter.

Sloane and Roman's re-meet cute is one for telling the grandkids- they'll definitely be having grandkids. One mediocre date was all it took!

This is my first time reading something by this author but it definitely won't be my last. The story caught my interest from the start and kept me engaged till the end. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know Sloane and Roman. They were well-defined with realistic qualities that made them easily relatable. Sloane and Margaux are twins and Sloane would do anything for her sister, including pretending to be her and filling in for a date she has with Roman. Despite the fact that he is handsome and successful, Sloane would rather steer clear of him. It's because of him she got fired from her dream job three years ago. But her sister's job is on the line now, so how can she say no? Surprisingly, as they spend time together, Sloane realizes that Roman is actually the perfect guy for her. But Roman still thinks she is Margaux. If she comes clean with her true identity, will his feelings change?
The author did a nice job of slowly building the romance realistically, and have Sloane and Roman gradually get to know each other and develop feelings. Both were compelling characters and it was easy for me to become invested in their story. This was a touching a heartwarming read and I was pulled in from the very start. I very much enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by this author.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

You or Someone Like You was an overall engaging read and for the most part I really enjoyed Sloane and Roman together. I'm not a huge fan of the twin switching trope as I generally shy away from manipulation and game playing but I am glad I read the book.

I liked how Roman and Sloane's relationship progressed, if you can look past the deception part of things. I think they were really good together and loved how they shared their love of art. I was not at all a fan of Margaux and wish Sloane stood up to her a lot earlier in the story.

I did feel like the ending of the story moved kind of at warped speed. The story was moving along at a good pace and then Roman learns the truth and then everything is resolved and they get their HEA extremely quickly. I feel like there needed to be a little more development to the story as it did seemed rushed at the end. I did really enjoy the epilogue, although again I would have loved a little more development to the story. Overall it was still an enjoyable read, with the exception of Margaux.

What a refreshing storyline! Twin swap. Once they meet the chemistry flies. Little did she know she was working for the man who got her fired from her dream job. She sells art. He collects it. He's a single dad of a darling little girl. He's also obsessive with security for his little princess. She finds that endearing. They both have the same passion, art. Not just any art, but art by mysterious artists. One date leads to another. Will it be magical in the end or disastrous? The ending will surprise you, but maybe not.

Another page turner by the brilliant Ms. Renshaw. I absolutely loved the story. Highly recommend. I was gifted an advanced reader copy from Netgalley, the publisher and the author. I thank you. This review is in exchange for the ARC.

This was just one of those books that slowly sucked you in and wouldn't let go. It became addicting the more I watched this slow burn romance unfold. Plus there is a dash of suspense as the stakes get higher as Sloane and Roman's relationship gets deeper and their secrets bubble up to the surface.

I really enjoy stories where someone learns to love again. I think Winter's inspiration and message in her acknowledgement section at the end rings so true: you can have more than one love in your life and finding someone else to love after a loss doesn't diminish what you had with the first. I think that is a beautiful message and its executed perfectly and respectfully here.

At the same time, I got some Something Borrowed vibes with this one, but these characters are much more likeable! While the relationship that is developing between Sloane and Roman isn't an affair, the heightened consequences of the relationship ending badly for all 3 people involved reminded me of that novel a lot.

Simply a well rounded romance that will capture your heart!

Loved this story of mistaken identity. Sloane pretends to be her twin sister on a blind date as a favor. Little did she, or Roman (or Margeaux) know that would be a turning point and change the trajectories of their lives. Plenty of drama as truths become revealed. I wasn’t ready for the story to end.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

There is something to adore about a story where our main characters are more entwined than they thought..

Sloane Sheridan is a sucker when it comes to her twin sister Margaux. This time, she is pretending to be her sister on a date with the man who got her fired a few years ago..all because her sister's promotion is riding on it. Sure, she will tolerate Roman Bellisario for one evening, but when it turns out that they share a deep love for art, especially for the obscure artist known as Halcyon, Sloane's connection with Roman might not be as short-term as she thought.

I really liked this book. Sloane and Roman had instant but organic chemistry, and I adored that it started over art. Their relationship is certainly a whole lot more tangled than even they thought, but Winter Renshaw did a great job of untangling these complications and giving them an appropriate resolution.

Can I just say I stan a man who believes in fate?

I had wished there were more spicy moments in this read given the main characters' strong attraction, but I will take what I can get.

I honestly felt that selfish twin Margaux got off easily, but I suppose she's family.

This read is a standalone, and if it is your jam, it will go by quickly like it did for me.

Sloane has always been there when her twin sister needed anything including pretending to be her while on a blind date. She may have been prepared for the subterfuge, but she wasn’t prepared for the fact that not only is he a sexy single dad but that they have so much in common when it comes to their love of art.

After the devastating death of his wife Roman is trying to be the father that his daughters need him to be. He isn’t certain he is ready to let another woman into his life but the more time he spends with her the more he believes that they could have a future together. The only problem is that there is a huge secret between them that could destroy everything.

Sloane and Roman were perfect for each other but they also had us on edge as we waited for the truth to be revealed. Great chemistry and so much emotion as Sloan and Roman take us on quite the ride.

Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for my e-ARC. Winter Renshaw is a new to me author but her writing was delightful. I enjoyed storyline and book had some great tropes; slow burn, single dad and mistaken identity.

I haven't read many twin swap stories but the ones I have I've enjoyed so this book immediately appealed to me. There is something a bit risky about it that I enjoy I like that it keeps me on my toes waiting for the penny to drop.
I enjoyed the story and how things panned out. I got a deeper sense of appreciation for part of it after reading the authors notes at the end. Character wise j found them a bit hit and miss. Sloane was a very likable character just trying to help her sister even if it did get her into hot water. It took me a while to warm to Roman but the more the story progressed he had a bit more about him and by the end i found myself liking him a bit more. I absolutely hated Margoux but she made for an interesting story. Overall while I enjoyed the story I didn't feel much of a connection between the 2 main characters which is something I look for in a romance book. Enjoyable but personally not my fav.

Winter Renshaw’s writing has captivated me, and she’s become a go-to author! In “You or Someone Like You,” we meet twins Sloane and Margeaux, who unexpectedly switch places for a blind date. Sloane finds herself meeting widower and single dad, Roman.

The story immerses you from the start, leaving you wanting more. I hope we get to see things from Margeaux’s perspective in the future! I’d rate it 4 ⭐️.

This book has all the tropes I enjoy - Single Dad, Second Chance at Love, Slow Burn, Twin Swap, and Love after loss. The chemistry and banter between Sloane and Roman were amazing, keeping me hooked until the end as their relationship blossomed. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down!
