Please Tell Me is a Thriller, but I really felt like it was a horror because there were a few parts that were disturbing. This story is about a little girl who was kidnapped for a little over a year; she escaped and she no longer speaks. The little girl starts to meet with a therapist to find out where she’s been, and what she’s been through this whole time she was away. Since she doesn’t speak, she draws and plays with toys, but depicts murder.

This started off interesting right away! You start the book from the child’s POV; her walking alone at night bleeding, tired, and lost. I will say though, the little girl was 9, but she read as if she was 5 years old; nine year olds do not talk like this..
This does take place during Covid (in case that bugs anyone), you get multiple POVS, and this book was fast and intense. Something that bugged me a little was that the therapist assumed what the little girl was trying to tell/show her, and she seemed so positive about it.
There was a little bit of romance in here which I thought was cute. However, towards the end there was a makeout? steamy? scene, and it totally came out of the blue; it did not seem at all that the characters would have done that because their little romance was slow, and then BOOM all of a sudden sex? There was no building in their relationship, so it was so unrealistic.
I think two times, the book kind of rehashed information on what's going on if you’re not understanding, but in my opinion everything was easy to understand, so it was just annoying to read flat out what was happening when you already KNOW what was happening.
From the beginning of the story I assumed who the bad guy was, and I am happy to say that I was wrong. This book did have some really dark, disturbing things, and there were a few twists. I really enjoyed this book, and it never lacked even when the book was starting to end. There were a few times my mouth dropped! Even towards the end! The twists kept coming.
The ending was very abrupt, so much so that I was thrown off when I read the word “Acknowledgements”. I think the direction it was spot on, but Mike Omer did miss a great opportunity. The last quote could have been better.

Overall, there were a few minor annoying things in the book, and the ending was a miss, but I had so much fun reading this, I didn't want to stop.

Want to start off by thanking Thomas & Mercer publication for access to this ARC! This book had me drawn in! I enjoyed the different perspectives including one from the killer. I also enjoyed the fact that the killer was someone “right in front of you the whole time” because sometimes it’s not believable. Would recommend this book to friends!

I love anything with psychology and therapy. Add that to a thriller and you might have just created my perfect book. This was so great.

I really enjoyed this one, right away you were grabbed in. I love reading about a child psychologist (former dream job of mine) so this one was an easy one for me. I was so fascinated with the sessions and learning what happened. I loved the pace of this book, each chapter kept you needing to read on due to cliff hangers. I always enjoy multiple POV’s and short chapters so 10/10 in that department. I definitely didn’t expect the ending. I didn’t care for the small romance subplot thrown in there but it flowed with the book.

I found it an exciting, fast paced read, which kept me reading into the early hours. It's a little twist on my usual crime thriller, in that it involves a missing child.

I found the story really chilling in places - especially the way in which the little girl, Kathy, acts out her trauma with her therapist, after she escapes from her captor.

I always like it when a story surprises me - and this one did - I had a very different suspect in mind.

The mention of the pandemic really added to the story and I felt it made it modern and relevant - adding to some of the concerns and storylines.

I enjoyed the therapist, Robin and her character - she was really likeable, and came with her own personal flaws and issues

Overall, I loved this book and will seek out more by the author.

I just finished reading Please Tell Me by Mike Omer and I have to tell you this book was amazing!!! It caught my attention with the first few lines and kept it throughout the whole book. The characters are well developed and people you grow to care about while reading. I couldn't wait to see what happened to Kathy and how she would explain what happened because she was non-verbal. The way the therapist worked with Kathy and was able to figure out what happened was totally amazing.. I thought I had it all figured out towards the end but much to my surprise I was wrong!!! Suspenseful and a great read!!! Thanks once again Mike Omer for telling such a great story!!! Now when's the next book coming out?

A kidnapped child is finally returned home after being kidnapped and is in the treatment of a phycologist. When Kathy who is only eight years old turns up on the side of the road after being missing for over a year everyone has questions. Where has she been? Who took Her? What happened? Kathy is so traumatized from her abduction that she won't speak to anyone, not even her parents...except for Robin Hart who is a child therapist who has been called in to try to help the little girl. Kathy begins playing with a dollhouse as a way to express her thoughts and when toys in the doll house start dying off one by one Robin realizes that there is a horror to what happened to that little girl and is determined to find out what it was.

Robin Hart is a child psychologist working with Kathy, a young girl who was recently found after a 15-month abduction. When Kathy starts to act out violent murders with dolls, Robin enlists the help of the police to find Kathy's abductor.

What I liked:
-unique plot that hasn't been done over and over
-the last 30% was very fast-paced and exciting

What I didn't like:
-very slow until the police get involved
-lots of unnecessary side characters and storylines that didn't add anything
-romance that seemed to come out of nowhere
-too much COVID
-way too long
-kind of a weird killer reveal

Overall, I liked this one, but wasn't really sucked in until the last third.

This book is written from the perspective of a few different characters, but focusing on Robins perspective. I enjoyed this book. It got you into the story from the beginning, instead of drawing everything out. Since the story plays out in present time there were a lot of mentions of the pandemic which isn´t weird or anything, but something that irks me a bit. I get setting the story in modern time but I don´t want to read about that. However that didn´t ruin the book for me.

I ended up giving the book 3.25 stars, and i definitely recommend it!

This psychological thriller had me at the end of my seat, I thought I had it all figured out and who was involved, but I was completely wrong. I love this story if you cannot figure out how it is going to end then the story was woven so well it did its job. I loved the dynamic between Robin and Kathy and that the little girl was able to find someone to trust after all her time in captivity. Mike Omer did a great job of keeping me engaged and you get all the things you want out of a thriller, including the plot twist.

As a long time fan of Mike, this was a change of direction but was completely unputdownable!
I binge read the book and honestly, enjoyed every moment.
Interesting and complex characters, and a totally gripping storyline very cleverly written. I really hope that there will be more "Robin" stories to follow, I would love to see more of this character.

I just can’t with covid in thrillers. It was bad enough living it let alone it being mentioned constantly in books.

I loved the plot idea of this book, but the constant Covid references were unnecessary and majorly turned me off. I feel like this story had so much potential but ended up falling flat for me.

Wow,this was an incredible experience! The journey of a professional woman and the terror that one little girl, her patient, has gone through. The unwrapping of the horrific things through play therapy is in and of itself truly a moving experience to read about. The author brought Robin, the therapist to life on the page's. Mike Omer wrote another magnificent book! This book, along with the rest of his books will keep you on the edge of your seat! I highly recommend you read it and get ready to stay up all night! Oh, and make sure you turn all your lights on, because you don't want to read this in the dark!

Solid 3.5/4 stars. This one really had me guessing! I am hoping the final version has more of a conclusion regarding Diana.

I was truly convinced Evan was going to be involved. What a convincing red herring!
I wish we got more of a backstory regarding Jonas as well. He seemed to just be a crazy add on that had no connection to the town.

Usually mike Omer Is an author I enjoy reading. This 1 left me Racing to the finish to find out who done it So I could get on to my next read. The mother, Diana, Was way over the top and very dramatic. Robin the child psychologist was way too timid and So dominated by her mother. But I did enjoy her putting the cigarettes out in her mama's best china LOL So if there is a sequel I hope she puts her mama in her place.

And what happened to dinner? Claire and her husband were discussing what to have for dinner when there was a knock at the door. It was the detective. End of chapter. Beginning of next chapter Kathy is in bed and they're talking to the detective. Did he stay for dinner? Did they just put her to bed hungry? What happened!

I guess I'm not a fan of books centered on children. Once it got to The detectives putting all the pieces together I became very interested. Not my fav

This was less than 400 pages but i felt like it was more than that. Although i was hooked about those sessions with Kathy, i find the story dragging and the progress slow. All those build up only to end up flat. Overall, this was an average mystery crime thriller.
