4.5 stars for my boo!

I enjoyed XOXO, Cody so much. I had Cody's voice in my head as I read the book. There is so much more to him than meets the eye and I admire Cody a lot.

3.5 stars, but rounded up. Anyone who has taken a Cody class knows his personality and it truly shines through on the pages. However, for me it was a bit too much at times. It would go from talking about his trauma to calling us boo - at times it just didn't fit. With that being said, the second half of this book was a lot deeper than I thought it would be. He shares lessons that he learned through therapy and shared parts of him that we have never seen.

What a great story filled with lots of humor. I loved hearing about his story and early days. If you have ever taken one of Cody's classes, you know the energy and humor he brings, and he brings that into his book as well. I laughed reading the book. I loved the mix of advice he sprinkled in.

If you are on Peloton and don't love Cody, how are you living your life? This was everything I wanted and had all the Cody wit that I expected. I really loved getting to know him better and bonus points, it made me want to go work out.

This memoir is totally fine, and certain chapters are quite moving. Rigsby’s descriptions of his upbringing, his move to New York, and his friend Oscar stick out to me as being some of the best. However, there’s too much here that’s dependent on you already knowing and wanting to know more about Cody Rigsby. That’s not a problem in a memoir, where many pick it up specifically to learn more about that particular individual – but as someone who doesn’t watch Dancing with the Stars or participate with Peloton, I didn’t have that initial investment to keep me hooked.

This was quite entertaining. There were some real LMAO LOL moments but it had its share of triggering content as well--of lot of which I keenly identify with. His hustle and grind amidst all that dysfunction is an attest to the strength we all have in us. I really enjoy his guided theme meditations on the Peloton platform and I especially enjoyed his journey to his meditation training and practice. It was a great read. #CareGiver #Therapy #Healing #DrugUse #Addiction #MentalIllness #Poverty #NetGalley.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a memoir in which the author’s voice comes through as clearly as it does in this book. There was no need to wait for the audiobook because I could hear Cody all throughout! There is a lot that Cody and I don’t see eye to eye on, and I knew upfront I wouldn’t agree with everything he says—but I also reflected on how the point of a memoir isn’t to agree or disagree but to sit and listen, to observe someone else’s experience and story. Thanks for sharing yours, Cody.

Cody is one of my favorite Peloton instructors, so I was soo happy that he was coming out with his own book! This book highlights some of the pivotal moments in his life - relationships, friendships, family matters, and his rise to being a celebrity, while also providing advice and self-help. I love that Cody is authentically himself, and that he brings his personality to the forefront in his rides and in this book.

As a Peloton fan, I know I had to read the book by the one and only Cody Rigsby. While “XOXO, Cody” is full of the typical Cody humor and fun tips, I was surprised to learn of his humble beginnings and childhood. It reminded me that you never truly know one’s story. The details about his parents and financial struggle was raw and honest, which I appreciated. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone in this book-humor, advice, and raw biographical facts. 4/5 stars ⭐️. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the advanced copy for review.

I would expect nothing but many, many laugh out loud moments from everyone’s favorite boo, Cody Rigsby. He absolutely delivered and this memoir was so much fun to experience! I enjoyed reading about his childhood, what he overcame and how he got to where he is today. There’s a few really serious moments but overall there is so much of his sparkling, eccentric personality in the writing. You definitely don’t need to be part of the peloton cult to appreciate the advice and anecdotes but the inside look is super fun if you are a member!

Thank you #Netgalley for the copy!

This was a quick read, as you can imagine since Cody is a fast paced guy! Loved following his stream of consciousness on different topics. Learning about his upbringing and how that helped shaped him into who he is today. Though I am not on pelaton, I enjoy watching his clips on tik tok which is what motivated me to request this book. It is a very causal read with many funny stories also tied in with a few serious topics of addiction and how it has affected his life. This book made me like him even more!

XOXO, Cody: An Opinionated Homosexual's Guide to Self-Love, Relationships, and Tactful Pettiness
by Cody Rigsby was such a treat for me to read because I've been using Peloton for over five years now and Cody has consistently been one of my favorite instructors. In fact, I flew cross-country to take my 1000th ride live in the NYC studio in one of his classes. He's funny, says it like he feels it, is genuine, and full of zingy thoughts. His story is plenty humorous, but he also goes deep and shares many difficult aspects of his childhood. I know I'm a fan of Cody's because of Peloton, but don't let that stop anyone without that connection from reading this book, it will appeal to all!

This book is such a great genuine authentic memoir. You know that saying you never know what someone is going through? This book is that. This memoir tells his story from early childhood to present day. It starts from the early memories of life in Los Angelos to the big cross country move that brought him to the East coast. There’s so much in these memories and stories. I loved hearing about his first trip to New York. I have loved taking Peloton classes with Cody for that past several years. He’s fun, energetic, tells great stories and just makes exercising fun. This book is everything we love about Cody from the classes with a little more behind the scenes stories and includes the same classic xoxo Cody advice! Many thanks to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Ballantine Books and NetGalley for the digital review copy of this novel. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Cody is one of my favorite peloton cycling instructors, and reading is book is just like taking a ride - but without working up a sweat. While this book might not be for everyone, I thought it was great. It is fully of his humor, honest (and at times spicy) opinions, and energy. I also enjoyed learning more about Cody's start and background.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing access to a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Cody is a well known and loved Peloton instructor and his book just makes him all the more loved and appreciated. The struggles of growing up amid loss, addiction, and a society that demands to judge someone’s sexuality, this book covers it all with humor and grace. I need more Cody and look forward to his next installment!

Cody is the sassy friend that every one needs - spitting out life lessons and reflecting on his past with the ease of one his rides. He distills his larger than life self into a succinct and tight story of his upbringing and his transition into the person we all know and love. Part instruction manual, part memoir, this book has major "Clarissa Explains it all" vibes. A delightful read that was at turns funny and laugh out loud funny.

If you’re not familiar with him, Cody Rigsby is one of the most popular Peloton instructors, known for being funny and fun and for never being afraid to share his opinions, hot takes and all, and for unapologetically being himself. And he brings all of that to his new memoir!

I think the subtitle of this book actually undersells the book a bit - it suggests the book is primarily a self-help book, but it really is more predominantly a memoir, sprinkled with just a little advice and opinions not unlike those Cody shares on his rides, especially his XOXO Cody rides.

I am an unabashed Peloton fan, and just last week marked my three year anniversary of getting the Peloton bike. I’ve done more than 700 rides, and more than 100 of those were with Cody, one of my most favorite instructors. So needless to say, I wasn’t going to miss his memoir. I was lucky enough to get an e-ARC and couldn’t wait to read it, even though I would have loved to listen to this on audio. In fact I enjoyed the book so much I just might listen to it when it comes out!

I’ve also enjoyed memoirs by Peloton instructors Tunde and Emma, but in my opinion this one is the best one yet! I really appreciated how open and vulnerable Cody was about his life, especially how hard it was growing up with his troubled single mother. And of course I appreciated his humor and pithy one liners too.

If you’ve ever met me, talked to me, or come across this page before - you’ll know that I’m beyond obsessed with my peloton. That bike changed my life, I really mean that. Cody is one of my favorite instructors and I was SO excited for this book!

Something else about me is that I don’t really “review” memoirs, it’s not my place to critique someone else’s story. That being said - I enjoyed reading this. I could practically hear Cody’s voice while I was reading, the writing style was exactly how he talks. I appreciated how open and honest he was about his own flaws and bad decisions. I’m always interested in hearing someone’s story and I had no idea about most of Cody’s background.

The overall vibe of this was good, that’s all I ask for from a memoir. If you’re a Cody fan, check this out.
