I could not get my kiddo to read this one - but I think we may just have to revisit it in the future, because I thought it was a very cute way to introduce the concept of percentages to younger readers. It's also worth noting that there are more books in the series, though you don't have to read them to enjoy this one.

First time reading this math made simple book in a story of percent. The author made a story, and explain percent at the end. This would help children understand what is the meaning of percent, and help them doing math correctly. And the story was fun enough for children to read as a story, not as a math related one.

I have been seeing mentions of the Sir Cumference math adventure picture books for many years, but have never actually read one to my children. We read Sir Cumference and the 100 PerCent Goose Chase a couple of days ago, and all of them enjoyed it.
Sir Cumference and Lady Di were at the market buying delicious goose eggs from Poppy and Percilla and discussing how their flock of 100 geese were ready to be taken to Gaggleston-on-Green to be sold. Suddenly, Poppy tripped and fell, and quickly realized she would not be able to walk with the geese. What was to be done?
Lady Di came to the rescue and made the trip with Percilla, carrying a list of the people who were to get geese and how many they had each reserved. Disaster struck along the way, however, and only 40 of the original 100 geese were left when they reached their destination! How could Lady Di and Percilla divide the remaining geese fairly among the four people who had each ordered a different number?
We read Sir Cumference and the 100 PerCent Goose Chase two days ago. This morning during breakfast, my 11-year-old suddenly figured out how percents work—and he’s been using them in his math for months! That makes me want to read more Sir Cumference books. If such a goofy story can help him make a connection like that, I’m curious to know what the other books will do for him. Yes, this is a goofy story, but I like it. It is engaging, and the pictures are delightful. The story has a medieval theme, which makes it even more fun. This is the kind of book that children will read just for fun, and learn while they are at it. One of the most fun bits? The thieves who thought these geese laid golden eggs! The picture at the end of the book is hilarious!

This book is a great way to not only help children understand the concept or percentages but also see how they are used in a realistic setting.

The one thing I disliked was that some of the play on words were a little out there and will need to be explained to some of the children. It's never fun when a gag goes over the kids' heads.

Another wonderful story in the Sir Cumference math universe.

Percilla Centwell and Lady Di need to deliver one hundred geese to the townspeople of Gaggleston-on-Green. But some of them go missing on the way. Percilla and Lady Di still need to make sure the customers get their fair share of the flock. The story teaches percents as part of a whole.

I read some of the Sir Cumference books as a child, and it's great to be back in that world. These stories are always teach math concepts in a clear way within a fun medieval adventure. I definitely recommend this book to any family interested in fun picture books that teach important concepts.

This was a cute introduction to percentages using 100 geese, some of whom disappear on their way to be delivered. My kids both seemed to enjoy the story (10 and 7) thought one of them is definitely more ready to learn fractions than the other.

Sir Cumference and the 100 PerCent Goose Chase, written by Cindy Neuschwander and illustrated by Wayne Geehan is currently scheduled for release on October 31 2023. Percilla Centwell and Lady Di are off to Gaggleston-on-Green to deliver Percilla's flock of one hundred geese to the townspeople who ordered them. When some of the geese go missing on the way, Percilla and Lady Di must figure out a way to make sure all of the customers still get their fair share of the flock. In this latest medieval math adventure, readers learn about finding percents as part of a whole by using fractions. The endnote includes step-by-step instructions for calculating percent.

Sir Cumference and the 100 PerCent Goose Chase is another book in this fun, and sneakily educational, picturebook series. I think the story was clever and entertaining, while helping readers get a better working understanding of percents. I thought the art did a great job of enhancing the story, and keeping readers engaged. I have yet to be disappointed by the clever and entertaining notions of this series, and this one met all my expectations and left me wishing I was working with children's books again.

I was first introduced to Sir Cumference while attending a homeschool conference sometime in the 2000's. The title caught my eye as math had not been a favorite subject of our oldest. It soon became an almost annual tradition to buy another Sir Cumference book at the homeschool conference. All six of our children were delighted by the clever play on words that helped explain math terms in such a memorable and fun way!

Sir Cumference and the 100 Percent Goose Chase is the 11th book in the series. I was excited to review and revisit a series that had been so well-loved in our homeschool. The focus of this book (as the title suggests) is on percentages. In this tale, Percilla has a gaggle of geese to deliver to various customers. As misfortune strikes along the way, Percilla must determine how to distribute the remaining geese in a fair manner. Fans of Sir Circumerence will be familiar with Percilla's traveling companion, Lady Di. Thankfully, all comes right (mathematically) in the end!

I am always astounded by how cleverly the author explains challenging math concepts in ways children (and adults!) can understand. The stories are so fun that children won't even realize they are learning math! And even though my youngest is 16, I'll be adding a physical copy of this book to our home library. I consider Sir Cumference a staple for any school or home library. The series should also have a special place in every elementary or middle school math classroom--each book is like a cinematic story problem. The illustrator's renderings of the time period and the math concepts are absolutely perfect and so wonderfully complement the story.

It was fascinating to read how the author became inspired to begin the series. I am so thrilled that she brought such a clever, whimsical, helpful series into the math world! Looking forward to future books in the series!

This was a silly math book that would be good for younger elementary students. I don't know if the geese situation was the best way to illustrate circumference, but it was amusing. Critisicm: I don't know who Sir Cumference was supposed to be; he did not feature much in this story.

These books are the best way to sneak in some math learning for kids. I love how seemlessly the Sir Cumference books are able to input math concepts into an interesting story. This volume provides great visuals for percentages as part of a whole by using geese feathers. While this book is part of a series, each book can be read alone. This is great for those (like me) who want to use them as supplemental material when teaching specific math concepts. Or they can always be read for fun! The only note I have is that I would love for there to be some practice problems and answers to help make it a more interactive experience.

Sir Cumference is the first book in the math series that I have read by this author. I found the medieval tale of learning about the elements of percentages—percent, part, and whole—using fractions to solve the goose-chasing dilemma compelling and exciting. Ms. Neuschwander's story has characters with witty, creative mathematical names: Lady Di Ameter, Sir Cumference, Poppy Centwell, and Percilla Centwell. In the story, Lady Di Ameter helps Percilla take 100 geese to the town of Gaggleton-on-Green to sell them to 4 townspeople. They lost a few geese during the journey and arrived in town with 40 geese. Unfortunately, Percilla cannot sell the townspeople the number of geese expected, but she can sell them the exact percentage ordered from the remaining flock.

Sir Cumference and the 100 Percent Goose Chase (Percentages) has a publication date of October 31, 2023. This book would be a great addition to math class as it is an effective tool to help students learn the formula for percentages step by step and apply the skills to solve the problems posed in the story. I highly recommend this book for classroom use.

Tune in for another adventure in the world of Sir Cumference where every thing you know about math is just a little bit different but then it also seems to make a lot of sense in the end. In this adventure a whole flock of geese teach the reader about PerCent or should I say percent?

I have loved this series as a math teacher for years and I was excited to see a new title! I was not disappointed at all. Many parts of it made me chuckle and I cannot wait to get a copy for my classroom!

This is a really fun book for kids who are learning about percentages in math. The story line was captivating enough to help hold children's attention, while also presenting math in an engaging, interactive way. It would be good for big math groups in the classroom, as well as just reading it to your own kids at home.

I’ve always been a fan of the circumference books. I think they are a great play on words and a great way to learn math skills. They put all of these skills into a story form that makes them more memorable for any age. The new additions have a boring cover, and I wish they would make them more interesting for kids to check out. What really matters is the material inside and it is excellent.

Sir Cumference and the 100 PerCent Goose Chase is a fun and inviting tale all about the way percents work. Loved how the story starts with 100 geese and the simple mathematical breakdown of percentages of geese for each customer Percilla and Lady Di have to deliver. Unfortunately things go awry as some geese are lost in the journey. Percilla still is able to give each customer the percent of geese they desire based on the remaining geese. Loved the pictures that aided in seeing the concept of percentage as well as the definition after the story of what a percent is and the different parts needed to solve a percent problem.
