This was a fun book to read. We see a girl in the woods heading to visit her grandma. It takes a turn when she runs into a wolf, especially after they tell her something shocking. Turns out a misunderstanding was made, and someone close to her is okay after all. Some kids will have a good time reading this book.

A fun retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with a language filled twist. Here, lobo is learning English and little red is learning Spanish and translation errors cause all sorts of problems! With bright pictures and a fun take on a familiar tale, this is a great story for young readers learning Spanish or English or those who are from bilingual families. I wouldn’t hesitate to add this to a classroom library if Spanish was a part of life in my classroom for any of our children

I received an electronic ARC from Gnome Road Publishing through NetGalley.
A delightful retelling of Red Riding Hood complete with dancing, singing and a wolf learning Spanish. Moni is asked to take a basket of goodies to her Abuela's home. Her mother tells her to go straight there with no dancing. She tries to do this but rhythms are everywhere. When she sees the wolf and hears the music he plays, she joins him and dances with joy and abandon. When she finally makes it to her Abuela's house, she discovers Lobo is a friend of her grandmother. Amusing interactions based on using the wrong Spanish word offer some light moments. Hobbs includes a Glossary of words at the end. This will be a wonderful addition to libraries as it offers a different look at a well known tale.

Tango Red Riding Hood is a cute children's story that is author Rachel S. Hobbs' revision of the classic fairy tale. In this version, there are misunderstandings in both English and Spanish. It is a book that is educational for speakers of both languages. Spanish words are smoothly interspersed with English words, facilitating an understanding of the surrounding context and illustrations. In addition to this story change, Red Riding Hood becomes a girl who loves dancing and cannot stop her feet from moving to the rhythm of everything she hears. Her meeting with the wolf Lobo is frightening, especially when he says he ate Abuela, her grandmother! As Red Riding Hood races to Granny's house, her feet still dance - just a faster dance. Carolina Vázquez's brightly colored illustrations add a significant element to the book, highlighting the music Red Riding Hood dances to and the wolf's scary teeth. A glossary is included in the back in case the context has not provided enough hints to translate the meanings of the Spanish words. Very nice book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Gnome Road Publishing for the ARC of this book.

An interesting take on the Little Red Riding Hood. Best for dual language speakers (Spanish/English) for read-alouds. Great pictures!

Tango Red Riding Hood is a fun modern twist on the classic Red Riding Hood story. Told mostly in English with a smattering of Spanish words (included at the end), this had a delightfully different ending. It highlights the difficulties and misunderstandings that can happen between different languages and cultures, but we can always make the best of any situation by correcting the miscommunication. What a wonderfully fun book!

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!

I loved the spin of this classic tale. I loved the inclusion of the Spanish language. The illustrations were also amazing and very in-depth. I felt like the images were part of a tv show.

I trulying enjoyed this story. The blending of spanish and english cultures throughout the story and the beauty of the Spanish in the story. I felt that the twist at the end of the story makes this a new classic and must have in your collection.

What an adorable story.
Fun new twist on red riding hood adventure.
With both English and Spanish this was a fun learning story for my littles and I. It included a glossary in the back to help us learn. I highly recommend this for home and for young classroom. It has flowing text and beautiful illustrations that really complement the story. You will love this adventure and learning new words.

This picture book had me swaying to the music! A retelling of Red Riding Hood, in a showy and colorful way of family and dancing. A quick read with colorful full pages and a glossary of Spanish words that help throughout the book. Highly enjoyable.

Loved the dual language writing, the Argentinian specific references, and how it played into the twist at the end. However, the whole time reading it I just felt like it should be rhyming.

The illustrations were the best thing about this book. I wanted to enjoy the story more, however, it was a bit boring and just didn't have the impact or emotions of the original. Basically, it just involved a girl who likes to dance and a misunderstanding with a wolf that is very quickly sorted out. I also wish books would add the explanation of words or phrases onto the same page as they are being used in a footnote (rather than the back of the book). But I seriously loved the illustrations.

A fresh and inventive retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, written in Spangish (mixture of English and Spanish languages). I love that the storyline changes in a positive way for the wolf and the use of bright colors incorporated into the artwork really complements that story. Perfect for bilingual homes, and small children showing an interest in other languages. There's also a helpful glossary included, although it may have been better at the beginning instead of at the end of the book.

I love this book. The illustrations are bold and vibrant. The duel language for the story is great! I was not expecting the ending. I giggled as i got towards the end and realized it wasn't predictable or as familiar as one might assume. It was great. A must read, must buy book! I think children and people of all ages will enjoy it.

Thank you so much to Gnome Road Publishing and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

A new take on the classic red riding-hood story. I really loved that this had a cute Spanish twist to it with our red riding hood just wanting to dance and doing tango constantly. I really loved that every step she took she did it to her own beat. It was really cute, she felt it in her heart and couldn’t stop her feet, was so precious.

We got a whole new take on the story with the wolf not being as he typically is but with a funny twist I will not share, but it was great fun. I loved that the story was filled with the Spanish language throughout and that there was a glossary at the end too. Spanish speaking children or those starting to learn will really enjoy seeing the language be used alongside English in this book.

The illustrations are really sweet and I loved seeing as she went into the woods and the emerging wolf that you know is coming. They really were so sweet to look at on each page. I loved this new refreshing telling of this classic story, it was a really clever way to share it and was so enjoyable to look at and read.

This was such a unique retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. I love fairy tale retellings, but Little Red Riding Hood has never been one of my favorites. Who can't tell the difference between their grandmother and a wolf?I love the twist in this story that turns out to be a misunderstanding as a result of the wolf learning a new language. This is a delightful bilingual book. Kids will love the dancing and fun twist. English speakers will learn new Spanish words and bilinguaul children will love the mix of English and Spanish.

Moni meets a wolf who plays captivating music that transforms her clothes and belongings. When the music stops, the wolf reveals something that upsets Moni. She rushes to her grandmother to realise it was a language misunderstanding because the wolf is learning English.

After reading Tango Red Riding Hood think about how learning something new can lead to misunderstandings. Discuss how learning new things can lead to misunderstandings. Making mistakes while learning is normal, and managing them with resilience is important in shaping our approach to learning and communication.

I received an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
