“All I know is when I see you, the only thing I can think about is touching you and kissing you all over.”
My Fault is a story of forbidden love between new step siblings, Nick and Noah. From their first meet, sparks start to fly in a showdown of enemies to lovers. Heavy on the enemies at first.
Their attraction grows throughout the story and what starts as stolen kisses eventually turns into an unbreakable love for one another.
Through the story you get dual points of view, between Nick and Noah. Personally my favorite person to read about was from Nick’s point of view, and getting to watch him mature through the story experience. Noah’s younger perspective sometimes showed a little too much for my liking when reading from her point of view.
Overall I really enjoyed the story, the only hang up I had was that I wish Noah was 18 instead of 17 in the book. I felt it was, at times inappropriate given that Nick was 22 talking about his attraction to a 17 year old. Regardless of Noah’s age, I still really loved her romance with Nick and I can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for the two characters. Thank you Netgalley and Bloom Books Publishing for a copy of this ARC on exchange for my honest review.

As a high school teacher this book and the issues in it screamed red flags. I was not a fan of either character and didn’t like how Noah was portrayed here. Plus Nick was a jerk and was never redeemed for me.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

4 ★ I was hooked. This book was addicting - I totally picked it up because of the movie and I’m so happy I did. I was hooked. It’s definitely different but in a solid book way. All I can say is I need the next one ASAP.

Before reading My Fault, please check trigger warnings.

I had such high hopes for My Fault. The Amazon movie has been making its way around bookstagram and everyone has been hyping it up. I knew I shouldn’t base my expectations on that but I did anyway. I was completely let down by this one.

Nick and Noah are two of the most annoying main characters I’ve ever had the misfortune of reading about. Noah, in particular, was just bad. She was whiny, mean, and downright stupid at times. At one point, she accepts a drink from a stranger at a party and surprise, surprise, it’s drugged. That’s bad enough but she then has the nerve to blame Nick, her stepbrother, for her being drugged. He didn’t give her the drink, he didn’t tell her to drink it, he wasn’t even really interacting with her at the time of the situation. In fact, he steps in to help her. How exactly that adds up to it being his fault, I’m not sure.

This is only one of many examples of Noah making a terrible decision and then refusing to take any blame for it. Nick was an asshole and he treated Noah like shit but she needed to own up to her mistakes and stop blaming everything on him, her mother, or her mother’s decision to marry Nick’s father.

As for Nick, everyone keeps saying how badass and amazing he is but to me, he just came across as a spoiled rich boy playing at being a bad boy. He may have ruled his “gang” but that didn’t stop him from using his daddy’s money to fund his lifestyle.

I won’t go into detail about the rest of the characters but they were extremely one-dimensional and played almost no role in the story. It was pretty much just the Nick and Noah show.

The plot was pretty much non-existent. The whole story is about Nick and Noah wanting to get with each other, why they shouldn’t get with each other, and them getting with each other. That’s it. The sad part is that the spice didn’t even make up for the lack of any other redeeming factors. Nick and Noah didn’t have any chemistry and everything about their relationship was cringey.

Overall, I can’t recommend anyone waste their time with My Fault. It’s an extremely lackluster representation of the forbidden romance, stepbrother/stepsister trope. Mercedes Ron is an author I don’t think I’ll be reading in the future.

This was a lot angstier than I thought it was going to be! I loved how our main characters actually start off hating each other and not just pretend they do because they are attracted to each other. I would have liked to see more of the "mystery" earlier in the book instead of just the last third of it. However, I liked that mystery as opposed to a third act breakup due to miscommunication.

Forbidden romance story, stepsister/stepbrother is not my go to trope, but this was an interesting read! Well written

This is definitely a book for readers on the younger side of the YA spectrum. Baring in mind that this is a translation to English, i found the language quite simple and the characters that way too.
It's simplicity will appeal to readers looking for an escape.
A good read.

This was a bad boy forbidden romance that I would say was good. After reading it I watched the movie and i liked that they didn't stray from the book. The story has a few twist that I enjoyed, I'll say it was a good book, I do like a bad boy falling in love.

I don’t know if this one is classified as adult or YA but it’s maybe a blend of both. At times it seemed a mature love story and at other times a naive YA. Maybe a perfect blend. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

I just watched the movie of this, not knowing a book existed oops. I really enjoyed the movie and I won’t go back and read the book now so I’ll rate it based on that. Since I enjoyed the movie, I’m going to assume I would’ve liked the book even more. With this being said, some parts definitely are cringey and wattpad like but it all tied in well. Overall very enjoyable.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Bloom Books for providing me this ARC.

Rating: ★★★,5

The perfect word to describe this book is *addictive*. I started this book and only put it down when I finished it, there was no way to stop reading, I just wanted to read more and more to find out what was going to happen next and unravelling the secrets of the characters.

Yes, this is the typical YA with the cliché story of the bad boy and playboy who finally falls in love with the typical girl next door, although in this case Noah also has some traces of rebellion (🤫). But who doesn't love a good cliché? I do, so sign me in. I'm always ready for a read full of drama and twists, which don't even give us space to breathe and this one does it seamlessly 🥵

Are they super complex characters with a great evolution throughout the book? No, they're not. Nick and Noah are still discovering themselves and growing up, not always making the best decisions. I loved Noah tho, she has personality, she’s fierce, strong and independent and does not accept someone telling her what to do.

The author's writing is very simple, light and fluid, which leads us to turn page after page without realizing time’s passing. And the plot is so full of events and twists and turns, so super fast paced, that there is not even a boring moment in the book.

Was it an unforgettable and super different book? No, it wasn't. If it was a good book within the YA genre? Absolutely. If I want to read the next ASAP? YES, I want it for yesterday! 😮‍💨

This was such a great book!

To be honest, when I started and noticed it would be a stepsiblings romance I was almost certain it was not for me. However, mercedes ron managed to turn that around! I really liked the rest of the plot, there was so much depth and detail, character development. And then when I learned it was originally a wattpad story I was surprised! I can kind of see that some of the storyline might be characteristic of wattpad, but the writing was so amazing that I would not have guessed it.

Really recommend this to people who are interested in reading about stepsibling romance, enemies to lovers, traumatized characters, and family drama. Do read the trigger warnings first! .

Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
this review will also be on my instagram (@lunarbookshelves) on the 5th of july, i will share the link as well.

“I wasn’t even sure I had a heart anymore, just thousands of little pieces I kept trying to glue back together.”

Oh man, this book has been something else. With the tricky age difference I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one but I couldn’t help but get hooked right in.

Bloom is for sure on a role with all these amazing books they’ve published lately and I’ve had the honor of reading so many of them. .

While I know that there is a movie adaptation out already, I’m honestly not sure if I’ll watch it because I’m so weird about book to movie adaptations. 😂 I can’t ever look at the book the same after watching its film adaptation soo I’m not sure. But! I did ADORE this book so I’ll have to give it a shot.

Noah and Nick. Stepsister and step brother. Closed proximity. Enemies to lovers. Forbidden Love. I loved everything regarding this book. It was so good I could not put it down. I loved listening to their personal demons and thoughts and I loved that they both were a unit. Can they continue on this pathway to love? You'll have to read it to find out.

Ok this book is a rollercoaster and I’m definitely here for it!
Seventeen-year-old Noah Morgan lives a quiet, normal life with her mother in Toronto...until her mother meets and marries William Leister, a wealthy and enigmatic lawyer from California. Noah finds herself moving to LA, leaving her volleyball team, her best friend, and her boyfriend behind. Upon arriving in her new life of private schools and pool parties, she meets her new brother, Nicholas–a college student, and seemingly the typical spoiled rich kid. Noah has no desire to get along with him, especially when she discovers Nick's secret life of clandestine car racing and street fights. But what the two don't account for is the powerful physical attraction between them–enough to turn their world upside-down.
This book is addictive, twisted and not for everyone. I love stepsiblings’ books and this one is definitely my cup of tea. There’s a lot of action, sexy times and an interesting side characters. I liked Noah, she is tough and honest. Nicks is the impossible sexy guy with many issues and toxic behavior. They are explosive together. I’ll be waiting for the next book in the series because I need more of these two.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I receiveI this ARC thanks to Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

The book was intense and the emotions were on par to the YA the book was aimed for.

I just couldn't get over the 22 year old stepbrother thing. I felt better about it when I found out they didn't grow up together , but still....

Great book that was really easy to read and enjoy. I read the whole thing in two days and it was very well done. I loved the main character.

I can't believe that one of my favourite books it was translated to English!

I've been following Mercedes since she started on watt pad and right now is one of the best sellers authors in Spain, this trilogy is amazing

But in concrete this one is special, is when everything started and let me tell you, if you enjoyed the movie, give a try to the book because as always is 10000 times better, the translation was so well done as well, I loved the opportunity to enjoy the story in another language ❤️

I just finished reading all the books in the series and I am grudgingly impressed. The story has been a complete roller coaster ride. Most of the times I simply wanted to get into the pages and shake some sense into the characters. Noah and Nick has come a long way from their immature, impulsive, traumatized selves from the beginning of the story. I cried a lot in some of the scenes while others left me exasperated and disappointed but it is true that I couldn't put it down. I don't know what to say about Rafaella and William's love story; if you know, you know. I felt sorry for the time they suffered and the lessons they both learned the hard way. I struggled with the second book. It was bit trashy but I kind of liked it; I am excited what the movie adaptation has to offer.
