Holy smokes Maggie is my queen! I've heard lots of love for Sara Cate and I'm now a convert. Mercy was a fast paced, easy read that left me eager for more- luckily it's part of a series

I kinda loved the spice mixed with a surprising amount of sweetness? I connected with a lot of what Maggie was going through, and could relate to Beau in some ways too. There isn't a lot to the plot but I appreciated the depth of character thoughts and emotions.

I requested this ARC not realizing it was fourth in the series but it holds up enough as a stand alone, though I'm now going back and making my way through the Salacious Players series. If you don't want spoilers I'd say read it in order.

'Mercy' by Sara Cate is the fourth book in the series and is exactly what you are waiting for from book three...

Well written, actual healthy relationship and kink advice. Not doing a full review since this is a repubbed title, not original. Everyone already loves Sara Cate and doesn't need my opinion.

This is the reverse of what I normally read in my erotica, but the description was well written so I thought 'why not'. It took me several weeks to pick this up but once I did I completed it within one day. The characters were endearing, there was plenty of growth that we saw happen, the BDSM representation was well done, the consent was constant and reinforced.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fourth book in the Salacious Players’ Club series. Initially hesitant about the reverse age gap and Domme/sub dynamic, I was captivated by Maggie's empowering journey. Sara Cate skillfully delves into Maggie's exploration of her dominant side, portraying her as a fierce and confident Domme. Beau's transformation from a brat to a respectful man under her guidance was beautifully depicted. The story's unique romance, engaging characters, and emotional depth hooked me. I admired Maggie's strength and loved how Sara Cate seamlessly blended the erotic elements with profound self-discovery. The book's empowering portrayal of a female Domme and the characters' transformative journey made it a compelling and satisfying story.

"Mercy" by Sara Cate is the fourth book in the 'Salacious Players Club' series and a compelling addition. While the third book remains a personal favorite, Maggie and Beau's story takes a close second. Beau's character growth is noteworthy, transforming initial reservations into admiration. Maggie, a relatable heroine, embarks on a journey of self-discovery alongside Beau. The narrative is a mix of insight, steamy romance, and genuine emotion. Sara Cate's unique and engaging writing style, evident in and outside this series, leaves readers excited for more.

an easy five stars for me!

it might seem simple, but one thing that makes this book (and series) stand out are the chapter titles. they provide that little bit of comedy needed to get through an emotional spot in the book or a nice giggle before a fun scene.

this book reminded me of how much I enjoyed two of the other books in this series and how I really need to bump those up my tbr list. I'm especially excited for some of the side characters' books. they've captured my attention just as much as the four main club owners.

thank you Netgalley for a copy of Mercy in exchange for an honest review!

There is nothing I love more in a book than a strong, sex positive female main character! Sara Cate is one of my absolute favorite authors because she writes the type of female characters that we deserve to see in this messed up world.

Mercy explores the lives and sexual fantasies of Maggie and Beau. I want to be Maggie when I grow up and I want a Beau in my life to help me explore all of the fun activities discussed in this title!

I love this entire series and cannot wait to see what Ms. Sara Cate has for us next!

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this title!

Love, love, love! The relationship between Beau and Maggie is one that is rife with every reason not to work, but somehow does. I see a lot of myself in Beau in that I lash out when I'm hurt and I think a lot of people can relate to that reaction. Beau challenges Maggie and Maggie challenges Beau and together they grow into better people.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Emerson Grant sets my teeth on edge and I do not know why every character here gives him the benefit of the doubt/worships at his feet, but I LOVED Maggie finally knocking him down a peg.

TROPES:
Age gap, younger M/older F
Taboo
Domme/sub/switch
BDSM

I had read the other books in this series, but I just didn't connect with the main characters in this one. They felt too distant, no sizzle, no connection really. I'm not sure if it was the story, the age gap or what piece was missing, but this was my least favorite in the series.

Steamy and intriguing. Sara Cate never disappoints. This was the first book from the Salacious Players Club that i've been able to pick up and I found myself not being able to put it down once I started!

Maggie is the runner of the fast growing club the Salacious Players’ Club who is the only person there not having a kink. But what happens when she takes their quiz and find out her results? Beau doesn’t like his father’s club, and would want to avoid it at every cost, but something makes him take their quiz and the results are surprising. What happens when Maggie and Beau meets their match?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! This is book 4 in the Salacious Player’s Club and I have not read the previous three books, but as I understood before diving into this one, it was okay to jump into this one, as it follows different character’s throughout the series.

The story was quite intriguing, and I wanted to know what would happen. It took me quite some time to get through the book because I wanted to savor every single word. Maggie and Beau stole my heart and their kinky scenes along with their personal life problems was keeping me want to read more and more!

Happy reading!♥️

Shoutout to NetGalley for the ARC of this absolutely amazing book!

“He wants to bring me pleasure. Even if that means letting me hurt him, torture him, punish him, and use him. What he wants is to give me what I want."

Sara Cate does an excellent job with writing in the balance of finding out things about yourself and the battle that comes with it along spicy scenes that made a seasoned veteran like me blush. Also I love it when a woman finds her true inner power through kink. Cannot wait to add this to my ever growing collection of Sourcebooks Books and displays at work!

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of Mercy by Sara Cate in exchange for an honest review. What I love about this book and the Salacious Players Club series in general is the character development and relationships. In this book my least favorite character went from someone I could not stand to someone I was rooting for.

We first met Beau and Maggie in the first Salacious Players Club book, Praise. Beau was our FMC ex-boyfriend who neglected her, cheated on her, and was overall a very bad boyfriend. Maggie, was Beau's father's business partner in their club, Salacious Players Club. We've seen snippets of both of these characters since, but not much, until this book. I do have to say this was the book in the whole series I have been the least looking forward to reading. I dislike Beau, a LOT. I was in a relationship with a man (eh, boy) like Beau and BOY did that make me hate this character even more. I didn't want to see him get his redemption even a little bit (even though we sort of saw some redemption at the end of Praise). Maggie is self-described vanilla and kink-less, until the other ladies around her one drunken evening convince her to take the clubs kink quiz, which actually reveals she s a domme/ brat trainer. Beau despises his dads sex club, and even after coming around to the idea that his dad is who he is, he still doesn't love the club. Which is what makes it so surprising when he himself is taking the quiz (curiosity killed the cat and all) only to discover he's a sub/ brat. Not only does the clubs app tell you what your kink it, but it matches you up with someone compatible to your kink, which just so makes Maggie and Beau a perfect pair. Messaging each other anonymously, so neither knows who the other actually is, they build a relationship, that eventually leads them to the club, where after doing the deed they discover who their anonymous match really was. But the pair don't stop meeting. They are enthralled in their new relationship and love being together and spending time with each, so much so months go by and they are in deep, when they are finally faced with either having to break up or spill the beans.

Overall this book was okay. As I stated earlier Beau is the worst and didn't deserve the redemption he got. But for most of the book I just pretended he was a totally new character and not Beau and that made it better for me. Maggie from the other books also was so mild and tame that I had a hard time suspending the disbelief that she could be this domme character. And I know people are like that in real life too, but for a book I want it to feel a little more believable. Idk. Not my favorite but still good, and I loved seeing how their (Maggie and Beau) relationships with the other characters outside of them changed and evolved in this book as well.

This might sound weird, but this book felt a little bit too vanilla and clean. I was expecting a darker tone to the smut. Although, I did love it. I liked the contradicting personalities, I wish we could've explored our MC's dirty talk a little bit more. She still felt a bit shy regardless of the commands she was making.

I’ve been excited to get to this one. Maggie’s story. The only woman in the Salacious Players Club. The quiet one. The enigma. Once I realized the MMC was Emerson’s son? The crappy ex-boyfriend from ‘Praise’??? I just about blew a gasket. Beau was not awesome in the first book, to put it simply. Sara Cate has spun some crazy relationships out of the past books in this series, though, and if anything this revelation just made this book more exciting to me. I LOVE a good redemption arc, to say the least.

After reading the I do think ‘Mercy’ ended up being my favorite of the books in the series! At least to me it seemed to go by much faster than the others. The topics dealt with are serious, as in the other books and by far this is the most intense book kink-wise. Delving into BDSM and impact/punishment/ degradation. I think in part what I liked about this was that the plot was paced really well and the relationship between Beau and Maggie was built up really steadily, there’s some excellent characters in this book and I loved that that took center stage for most of the story.
