Sexuality is no longer the sharp division of heterosexual or homosexual; there is a huge panorama of feelings, attraction and sexual identity. This is confusing for anyone growing up and feeling different to their peers, of being unsure as to how they fit in or who they are. For others, they may realise who they are and what they want, but it is difficult to find people who are like them, who they can identify with. This Rebels Girls book of celebrating Pride offers a full spectrum of LGBTQ+ identity to both help people understand who they are as well as give them examples of other people who identify in the same way.

There is still a lot of misunderstanding around this area of diversity, some misogynistic and some I think due to a real lack of true understanding of how many individuals feel. So this particular Rebels Girls book is not just for those who struggle with or who need support in being who they are. It also helps those trying to understand the gamut of feelings and love and who want to know do and say, as well as what not to do and say to make sure that everyone feels comfortable.

As we see more book banning and laws targeting LGBTQIA+ people and kids, it is so great to have this title in the market to show the power and strength of the community and share with kids who identify with this community as well as for those who do not to break down potential walls and misinformation.

Love the Rebel Girls and all their work. However, don't think Kindle is the best format to read this so will have to mark it down as I would have preferred paperback and found this would have been more successful in that format.

Come tutti i libri di Rebel Girls, questo volume sposa storie emozionanti e femministe con disegni semplici ma memorabili. Li leggo sempre con mia sorella e non potrei che esserne più felice. SI VOLA FAMIGLIA QUEER

Thank you NetGalley and Rebel Girls for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the most recent Rebel Girls book I've read, and I was excited to read it, as Rebel Girls always deliver. And while I think it's a good book to get to know more LGBT+ people with beautiful illustrations, I have couple things that bothered me in this one.
Firstly, Rebel Girls usually do really well in describing what these people achieved and why they are an important figure to learn about. However, in this one I felt like the stories about each of these people were revolving around their LGBT+ identity rather than on what they have achieved. I understand it is a book about Pride, but surely these women have more important achievements than being lesbians (or other people with their queer identities), so I wish this book would focus on both those aspects equally.
Secondly, and I mean this with all respect and love to all trans and non-binary people, Rebel Girls ALWAYS write about girls and women. Until this book. This book risks that not all girls will be able to find themselves in it. In this book we have women, transwomen, and nonbinary people of both biological sexes. That's all fine, as long as we also talk about transmen. Little girls will read in this book about transwomen, who just felt different when they were boys. But there was not a single story of a girl feeling different and becoming a transmen, which to me felt like it was missing.
Anyway, it's still a great book to learn more about struggles and successes of LGBT+ people, so definitely pick it up if you'd like!

This has the most stunning illustrations of the series so far! A little more US/Western focused than normal, but that may be a matter of public personas who openly represent this important topic worldwide. Highly recommend.

I am a BIG fan of the Rebel Girls series! It is a wonderful book for children (and adults) looking a variety of successful individuals from the LGBTQ+ community from all over the world. There is a great combination of more well known people as well as lesser knowns ones from tv personalities, science and athletes to name a few.
Each page has important information about the individual and a picture, 25 altogether. The reader will see queer people living their best lives and how their wonderful lives had had a beautiful impact on the world.
Great to inspire young reader to ensure they are inclusive, caring and understanding of other people.

Love being able to share this series with my daughter and exposing her to people from all walks of life! I do with some of these listings were more unique because it seems like the books are recycling quite a few past submissions.

Honestly, the Rebel Girls book series is just fantastic. This is another home run. With so many kids coming out and beginning to understand more about themselves, while facing the toxic pushback and downright hate that has been occurring the last several years in this country, books like this are ever more important.

Telling someone they are wrong or bad or need to be “fixed” (by therapy, religion, punishment, etc.) because of WHO THEY ARE is dangerous and potentially deadly. We wouldn’t accept someone trying to destroy our own sense of worth. How are our children and fellow citizens any different?

Our kids deserve better, our country deserves better, and our world deserves better.

Rebel Girls rock, and books like this are exactly what our kids need.

Once again Rebel Girls has come up with a fantastic book! This one talks about various successful persons from LGBTQ+ community, from different parts of the world. Some of them are quite famous like Alok Vaid Menon but mostly they are lesser known sports, media, literary, etc, personalities. I definitely recommend this to everyone, young or old.

Another great collection of essays about Rebel Girls. These girls are from all around the world and different walks of life. They are also LGBTQ+. From actress, Laverne Cox to tennis great Billie Jean King. The essays just touch on their lives discovering what they want to do or need to do, like X Gonzalez. Each essay is a page long with an illustrated picture of the subject. And don’t forget to tell your story in the back of the book. And several of the essays also include QR codes to learn even more about those Rebel Girls. Go forth and Rebel!

This entry in the Rebel Girls series showcases 25 women/nonbinary people who consider themselves part of the LGBTQ community. Many of those featured are activists, but others have achieved success in the fields of athletics, entertainment, the sciences, etc.

Like all Rebel Girls books, this one has short summaries on each featured person, as well as beautiful illustrations in many different art styles. I liked the little glossary at the end which defines gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, a useful inclusion for young readers. I'd imagine that this book in particular will be especially helpful for young people who are questioning their own identities, but may also take some extra explaining for those who are very young.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

First of all I want to thank netgalley for providing me with this book.

rebel girl celebrate pride tells us in the form of a story the story of different people from the lgbtq+ community, from celebrities to scientists who have managed to change the world.

the same format as good night for rebellious girls, and it is a format that I like and that is ideal to read with children and adults so that they do not feel that they are alone in the world and that they can achieve great things. even if others say no.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I loved this collection! Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride was such a fun and accessible way to learn about influential figures in our community. Though geared toward a younger audience, there was still a good bit for me to learn from this collection. I have enjoyed all the Rebel Girls books, but this one was especially nice. I wish we had books like these when I was younger, but I'm glad I get to read them to the kids in my life.

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is one of the best entries to the series in a good while. The book tells 25 different stories about women, girls, and nonbinary people, with all of the stories focusing on LGBTQ+ people. Everyone is a lesbian, bisexual, asexual, transgender (binary trans women and nonbinary folks), intersex, etc. The people featured are from all over the world, and from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. There was disabled people too (which made my queer disabled heart sing). They have a variety of backgrounds from science to art to activism to athletes and more. As a queer person, this is the kind of book I wish I'd had as a kid. We get to see queer people living full and fulfilling lives and positively impacting the world around them. I loved that the focus was more on their accomplishments than on their queer identities so that queer kids get the chance to see that they can grow up to be queer adults with the chance to do whatever inspires them.

Highly recommended for all ages (ideal for ages 7-13).

I will never not be impressed by this series. As always, none of the stories are super in depth, but they are great conversation starters and send us down lots of rabbit holes!
