I love reading the Rebel Girls books even though they are targeted for the younger audience. Rebel girls series definitely helps to put the information in a way that children can understand it.
25 inspiring tales to celebrate pride, talk about being yourself, accepting who you are, and make sure that you're not in this alone.
This book simplifies a lot of terms and definitions, e.g. non-binary, gay, or lesbian.. At the end of the book, you can also find the difference between gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression.

This is another great addition to the Rebel Girls series, this time about girls, women and nonbinary persons who are from the LGBTQ+ community. We meet activists, artists, athletes and scientists who found their way not only doing what they wanted but also living with the gender and sexuality that represented them. The illustrations and activities for children are again brilliant and enjoyable. The only flaw is that - although there are short explanations in the end - children of that age would need an adult to read this with to explain all the terms and pronouns used here.
Thanks to Rebel Girls and Netgalley for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Even though the Rebel girls books are aimed towards children or maybe even teenagers, I enjoyed reading and learning about all of these women. In this book in particular we focus on those women part of the LGBTQ+ community, those women who have fought for the rest of us. From Marsha, to Laverne Cox, Hannah Gadsby…
What I enjoy the most about these books is also how I learn about women whose names I didn’t even know. Great reading for everybody.

I really enjoyed this book and for June it’s a perfect read for any ally, young or old, wanting to learn more about the LGBTQ community. A list of my personal favourite people I learnt about through this book are:

• Alana Smith
• Alok Vaid-Menon
• Fischer Wells
• Theresa Goh
• Will Larkins
• X González

If you want to learn about these people, and more, you have GOT to pick up this great little book.

I absolutely adore the Rebel Girls series so I knew I had to pick up the Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride this June. This book is filled with so many awesome people! Outside of a few well known folk like Laverne Cox and Janelle Monet this was a welcome insight into a ton of LGBTQIA+ persons. From actors to activists, musicians to scientists, Rebel Girls celebrates the amazing accomplishments of so many wonderful people. As with all their books, I love the resources at the back of the books. Celebrate Pride gives readers a chance to continue celebrating pride and thinking about what that means with some great prompts and some great definitions for gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. This is a fabulous book, not just for kids but for everyone!

I loved this collection of 25 profiles of members of the LGBTQ community and I can't wait to share it with my girls.

From more well-known (to me) figures such as Sylvia Rivera and Janelle Monae to previously unknown (to me) trailblazers such as Alana Smith and Clara Barker, the pages of this book are full of inspiration and awe-inducing stories.

Another hit from the Rebel Girls! I really love these books because they give short but very informative insights into figures that have played such a huge role in how we understand and think about Pride today.
Highly recommend for readers of all ages (I'm 29 and I've learned more from this than I EVER did in school).

This is a bright, inclusive, empowering, and inspiring addition to the Rebel Girls Universe. There are so many amazing people featured from the LGBTQIA+ community, some I knew about and others I was excited to learn about.

Coupled with gorgeous and beautifully vibrant illustrations, this is a must have for every kids' library.

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is are fun introduction to different public figures that identify as part of the LGBTQ community. I like that they included many different people from Artists, Scientists, Performers, and Activists. I think this is a great way to introduce kids of all ages to some LGBTQ public figures. I've read other Rebel Girls books and this was another great addition.

Now that we are officially in Pride month, I will be reading more LGBTQ+ books, as well, as banned books.
The first was a collection for children, young girls, or children identifying as girls. It's part of the Rebel Girls series that showcases famous women for young girls to look up to.
This is all about those women in the LGBTQ+ community. Nothing is more important than representation, and for children who are just discovering their true selves, it is even more vital to their well-being and mental health. I wish I had had so many great women to look up to as I was growing up. Included are 25 biographies of women from all walks of life that have contributed to our sense of pride.
Perfect for any child regardless of identifying factors. Highly recommended.
Thanks to @netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this eArc in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

A fantastic selection of stories celebrating people who have fought for the right to be themselves. With a whole host of LGBTQ activists, sportspeople, actors and more, this book shares brief stories accompanied by bright illustrations and quotes from those represented. With space for a reader’s own story and activities to encourage them to celebrate their authentic selves, this is a great selection of stories for any young reader, but particularly important for those who identify as a member of the LGBTQ community.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the electronic ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

Just in time for a Pride come a new Rebels Girls book sharing 25 inspiring people that are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. There are activists, athletes, entertainers, artists and more covered in this book. Each person is illustrated with a summary of why they are noteworthy. I will say it is geared towards younger readers, so only one tribute is for someone who is deceased. Many people were new to me. It splits the representation with half being from the United States and the other half international. Also I liked that each different illustrators were used for each of the individuals. On some individuals QR codes are included to look for additional information.

This is part of the Rebel Girls series of books aimed towards girl 3rd grade and up. I think this is a very worthwhile, informative and age appropriate. Thank you to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for the temporary ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

The 'Rebel Girls' series hits again with its celebration of Pride. This is a great introduction for children into the spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities. As usual, my only complaint is that it's still mostly white American focused, though I did enjoy the moments of further diversity and think they're getting better.

A book that can provide so much hope, can inspire, and is filled with so much self love!

I absolutely love how this book showcases 25 incredibly talented individuals and shows off all of their different paths in life! The people and stories they selected are perfectly told and are complimented with really beautiful illustrations. The illustrations are all by different artists, which makes it really fun to see the variety of art!

There are even spots in the book to scan a QR code to learn more about particular people, which is really awesome to interact with it outside of the book!

At the end of the book there is a place for you to write your own story and draw a portrait! There also is some questions for you to think through, introduces you to different ways to celebrate, and has some terms to learn if you don’t know them already!

This book is incredible and is a perfect resource for those children (7+ or tweens) to feel seen, loved, and worthy for who they are, especially any young individual who may identify as a member of the LGBTQ community!

I will say, even as an adult I am ashamed to say I did not know about some of these people and am SO glad that I read this just to learn more about them! It even inspired and educated myself!

Once again, Rebel Girls does NOT disappoint by shining a light on 25 strong, talented individuals who are/were full of PRIDE! A lot of students never learn about some of these individuals in the book, so it's important for books like this to exist. Rebel Girls should grow up seeing themselves (in every form) through the media they consume, especially books. I love it!

I love reading the Rebel Girls books and even though they are targeted for the younger audience and make me sometimes wish I was younger, so I could enjoy them even more . They are great in giving females some strong role models and even more this particular one which shares females who identify as LGBT+ as back then , those that identified didn't feel accepted and have the role models needed.

Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride: 25 Tales of Self-Love and Community" is a remarkable addition to the captivating biography anthologies published by Rebel Girls. Unlike its predecessors, this particular volume stands out as a bite-sized paperback, making it the perfect companion for readers on the go. Its compact size is ideal for slipping into backpacks or pockets, ensuring that the stories of resilience and empowerment found within its pages can be easily accessed and shared.

The book's layout is a visual treat, with each page spread showcasing a noteworthy individual from the LGBTQIA+ community. The format includes a concise yet insightful one-page biography accompanied by a vibrant and expressive full-color illustration. The inclusion of both well-known queer figures like the influential activist Marsha P. Johnson and the talented singer and actor Janelle Monáe, alongside lesser-known heroes such as scientist Clara Barker and dancer Sherenté, allows for a diverse and enriching reading experience.

One of the standout features of this anthology is its inclusive nature, which encapsulates the true spirit of Pride. By highlighting the experiences and achievements of individuals across different professions, backgrounds, and eras, the book offers a comprehensive representation of the LGBTQIA+ community. The reader is introduced to a multitude of voices and perspectives, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity within its pages.

In addition to the inspiring biographies, "Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride" provides valuable back matter that enhances the reader's engagement with the content. The inclusion of space for personal storytelling and self-portrait creation encourages self-reflection and expression, allowing readers to connect with the stories on a more intimate level. Furthermore, the book provides a glossary of important terms and concepts, ensuring that readers are equipped with a better understanding of LGBTQIA+ history and culture. Additionally, the further ideas to celebrate pride offer suggestions for meaningful ways to honor and embrace diversity within one's own community.

Given its content and thoughtful design, "Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride" would make an excellent gift, especially for queer youth during the vibrant and empowering month of LGBTQIA+ Pride. The book serves as a beacon of hope, inspiring young readers to embrace their identities and celebrate their unique journeys. It not only educates but also empowers, reminding readers that their voices matter and that their stories are worth sharing.

In conclusion, "Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride: 25 Tales of Self-Love and Community" is a commendable addition to Rebel Girls' anthology series. Its compact size, diverse representation, and engaging content make it a standout publication. This book succeeds in celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and providing young readers with inspiring role models and a platform for self-expression. It is an invaluable resource that beautifully captures the essence of Pride and serves as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of its readers.

Another success from the Rebel Girls series! Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is a book filled with colourful pictures, inspiring quotes, and incredible stories. This collection is worthy of a space on your bookshelf!

Readers meet 25 LGBTQ+ artists, activists, athletes, and more, ranging from notables to the lesser-known. I consider this book (and the Rebel Girls series) an exceptional resource for home libraries and classrooms that want an introduction to some notable LGBTQ+ individuals. The stories are engaging, easy to read, and teeming with self-love.

In true Rebel Girls fashion, readers will find activities in the back of the book. The activities were inspired by the stories told in the book. Included is a list of relevant terms, a two-page spread for your story, a self-portrait, and more! This book is perfect for persons ages 8 and up.

Thank you NetGalley and Rebel Girls for a copy of this gorgeous book!

"This collection features 25 inspiring tales of proud members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Read about how these women, girls, and nonbinary people broke down barriers, honored their identities, and lived authentically no matter what anyone else said. Find your voice with Janelle Monae. Play for equality with Billie Jean King. Protect your community with Marcia P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. And organize joyful celebrations with Dr. Lady Phyll and Molly Pinta."

Rebel Girls never disappoint! They just do everything right--I mean talk about these GORGEOUS illustrations and additional resources/information?!? Plus, talk about diversity! And when all the portraits were done, I love that they added a "Terms to Know" section (they really do think about everything!).

I highly recommend picking this up for your office, classroom, home library, little free libraries, etc!
