This was the third book in the series, luckily I was familiar with the first two books, so I was able to enjoy the third book also!
This definitely was an exciting and interesting read, and I will be recommending the series of those three books to any middle-grade and YA reader who loves graphic novels.
Also, I would like to point out how much I loved the diversity of the characters! I also loved the drawings and the mood the drawings set. The drawings and the text actually were perfect for each other in this book, just the right amount of each.
This was a solid five-star read!

Thank you to Netgalley and Oni Press for the ARC.

- I really enjoyed this one! It felt like such a good combination of the major themes and vibes of books 1 and 2.
- The growth that all three characters (Marjorie, Eliza, and Wendell) was incredible. Marjorie's development at the end of the book was incredibly powerful. I loved all the scenes with Eliza and her family. They're so accepting of her, while also trying to help her grow in a way that she retains who she is. Wendell's story is developed so much throughout this book, and it was stunning to see the flashbacks throughout.
- The conflict of how to have a best friend and make new friends at the same time is such a classic MG plot line, but I loved how this one was done.
- As always, the illustrations for this book are fantastic. I love the use of color, which is so powerful during Wendell's flashbacks.

So, I'm a massive fan of Sheets and Delicates, I think they are wonderful and thought provoking and illustrated so beautifully. Lights? I think this one was even more for me.

Let me just say, Wendell has my heart - and I love that we find out more about him in this finale to the Sheets series. I think that all our characters we have met have had sufficient development that has shaped each story, but this one has been my favourite.

Its such a wholesome story, with such strong messages. We cope with so many different trials and tribulations through life and this story just envelopes you in a warm hug that is Wendell and reminds you of what's important in life and how we can overcome things and find new paths. Lots of lights makes our world shine brighter after all...

Another stunning addition to this series by Brenna Thummler! While I enjoyed this one the least of the three it was still wonderful in so many ways - I just personally felt it dragged on a bit more than the previous two. Thummler tackles very deep human issues and the artwork is beautiful. I am so glad we learned more about Wendell's background and that Marjorie was left in a great place. Though the ending made me cry, so be prepared for feels.

Prior to this year, I had seen the Sheets graphic novels around but I was never really interested in picking them up until a few close friends recommended the first book to me. I was taking part in a reading challenge in February and I needed some graphic novels, so I decided to give these a try, and I absolutely fell in love with Marjorie and Wendell. So much so that I've now finished the trilogy in just a couple of months!

Lights is the perfect ending to this slow and dreamlike trilogy. I'm very pleased that we got to learn about what happened to Wendell, as I feel both he and the readers needed closure to move on.

The ending to this trilogy is heartfelt and lovely. I even teared up a bit at the end because I had become so invested in the relationships between all these characters.

I'm very pleased with how everything wrapped up with these characters, and I'm pleased that I discovered this heartwarming story about friendship, loyalty, and love.

Thankyou NetGalley and Oni Press for a free e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

What a perfect way to end the series! This book really tied up all ends and questions and really brings the series full circle. I think its a great series that really looks into some very relatable topics. Ill definitely be getting copies of these to have at work (i work in a secondary school setting and have a lot of students that sometimes struggle to verbalise how theyre feeling and they take comfort in relating to graphic novels!). Great little tools to open up discussion!

Beautiful artwork and colour scheme- Highly recommend!

The third and I think final entry in the Sheets series finds Brenna Thummler picking up with Marjorie Glatt's life not too far after the events of Delicates (Sheets #2).

I was absolutely over the moon when I got accepted to read this as I loved sheets, read Delicates a couple of days ago when I knew this was coming out. I was not disappointed.

I absolutely adored this series, throughout we got to explore depression, premature death, grief, friendship, loss and so much more. The illustrations and colours are absolutely stunning giving these autumn vibes and the stunning winter snowy scenes as well are amazing. I got so attached to Marjorie and Wendell that I was so sad to let them go but their story ends perfectly and you definitely get closure.
Lights looks into solving Wendall’s death as he starts to get flashbacks and memories of his past, this so heartbreaking as well as a really good read. Along side this we have the struggling friendship between Marj and Eliza as Marj is wanting to befriend the people who use to bully Eliza. I loved the mystery side to this one and also the growing friendships and how they evolve and mature throughout.

This series will stick with me for many years and I will 100% recommend. I cannot wait to see what the author writes next as I definitely want another series from her.

This was a mix of heartbreaking and beautiful and I loved how this story navigated friendship as well as grief. I loved that we learned more about the little boy ghost and I was in love with this story.

In the theatre there is the tradition, when all other lights are turned off, to keep one light onstage on. That is called the ghostlight, and it is never supposed to be turned off. That is what the light is, referred to in the title of the third book in the series about Wendell, the ghost, and Marjorie, the living human. The first two books were about Marjorie grieving foe her mother and the second of her making friends with a human.

In this third book we finally find out what led to the death of the little boy ghost. Apparently he was the young son of a dancer and her husband, who were very busy dancing, and running their school. Marjorie has found that he drowned, but there seems to be more to the story than that. How did he drwon. Why was he there? Why was no one watching who could have saved him.

At first I thought it odd that we might want to learn the story behind Wendell, but as the story progressed I realized that we very much did want to know how he died, and what the circumstances were, especially since some of the people involved were still alive.

It is a good ending to the trilogy. I would have never thought it would go out the way it did. You can probably read this third book on its own, without knowing the backstory, but you would miss so much.

I sat down to read just a little of this, and once again got sucked in, and we learn more and more about Wendell.

THanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest raeveiw. It is coming out from Oni Press the 5th of September 2023.

Beautiful and heartbreaking graphic novel exploring friendship and grief as Eliza, Marjorie, and Wendell solve the mystery of his life and death. The illustrations are gorgeous, and I especially loved the color change for Wendell's memories. The pacing on how these flashback panels are interspersed throughout the story build suspense perfectly and had me a crying wreck by the time we learn what happened to Wendell. Also teared up when Marjorie and her dad were talking about friendship. Highly recommend the entire series with this heartfelt conclusion. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read early.

Brenna Thummler's work is always award-worthy and so powerful for a wide range of readers. This third entry in Thummler's vision of this ghost-infused world is another triumph and delight -- sure to please and keep readers wanting more. I love the linking of supernatural and realism, and Thummler's style is impressive.

This final book in the Sheets series is such an absolute perfect end. It was so great to be back in this cute ghost world of Wendell, Marjorie and Eliza. Gosh, this was just so good and they finally uncovered what happened to Wendell in a murder mystery but is it? And I absolutely dig it! This book just hit me the hardest as it was so bittersweet. This series is really amazing and wholesome and I'm so glad I picked it up. I love this series so much and highly recommend everyone to read it.

This was such a cute read, that really got me emotional at the end. An absolutely perfect way to round off the trilogy.

#netgalleyarc I really enjoyed this final book of the series. The illustrations are as awesome and beautiful as ever and the story was well written. The underlying theme/morale was written and handled well. A definite future purchase for my HS library.

Concluding the Sheets trilogy, not that I'm sure I ever knew it was a trilogy until I saw this. Mysteries dominate here: the classic one is what happened to Wendell that he ended up as a sheet ghost in the first place, but then there are knottier ones, like how far can you forgive the bully's sidekicks once they part ways with the ringleader and start mostly playing nice? And what even is friendship anyway? For me the main attraction remains the less peopled scenes, the snowy graveyards, remembered childhood rooms and empty theatres, rendered on the page with just the right sense of poignant possibility. Though I did get a little distracted when the leads join an organised ghost hunt (well, the living leads - understandably, the ghost stays home) and one person in attendance doesn't really seem to be on everyone else's wavelength when it comes to the mood of the event. Yeah, it's not quite an I Think You Should Leave crossover, but it could have been, which was enough to set me off. I'm not sure it ever quite gets around the dreadful truth of the line "It's much harder to create light than it is to extinguish it", but it tries, which is the best one can do with that. And I feel very seen by Eliza's "My lowered expectations are still higher than the human standard".

"Lights" by Brenna Thummler is the third in the sheets duology continues from the first two following Marjorie and Wendell after everything that has happened.

I would give "Lights" by Brenna Thummler a 3-star review because, this is a cute story but it feels more meant for younger readers.

What a great ending to this series!
The whole series is more emotional than I expected but this last book was a tender hug of a conclusion.

I loved that we got to see more about Wendell’s past and watch Marjorie figure out her social circle.
And the art! I love the style.

Thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press for an eARC.

This was such a great finish to the series. It didn't quite have the emotional impact that the first two did but still tugged on the heart strings. I really liked where all of the characters ended things.

As always the artwork was wonderful!

I would definitely recommend this book to any fans of the series and overall I would recommend this series to readers of all ages!
