Thanks @putnambooks for the gifted copy!

This was a sweet book that focused on rekindling the relationships between three sisters after their father died and left them his shop of curiosities and a will that had some very interesting instructions to follow in order to carry out his wishes. It wasn’t my favorite of hers, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit!

Last year A Season of Second Chances was my favorite holiday read so I knew I wanted to read more by Jenny Bayliss. She really knows how to paint a festive picture and capture those magical festive feelings. I couldn't get enough so I also read Meet Me Under the Mistletoe! Season of Second Chances is still my favorite but it has been solidified that I will read whatever Jenny writes!

After their father’s death, half-sisters Maggit, Simone, and Star are reunited with a surprise. Despite not having seen each other since their summers together as children, their father has issued a challenge for them in his will - and the three sisters will have to work together to unlock their inheritance.

This was the perfect feel-good family story to listen to over my holiday travels. I loved the sisters and the entire community of Rowan Thorpe. This book gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings and it got me in the best mood to visit family for the holidays!

The audiobook is narrated by Elizabeth Sastre and I loved listening to her voice! She brought the characters and story to life and it was so easy to listen to the audiobook over a long drive.

Thank you to Putnam Books and NetGalley for the advance copy. Thank you to PRH Audio for the audiobook.

This book was adorable! It’s a Christmassy romance, but mostly it’s a tale of sisterhood, strong women, and found family. I loved the sisters growing in their relationship and the romances (although we did have the classic miscommunication and third act breakup), and it was so cute and perfect for the holidays! I feel like Jenny Bayliss’s books are hit or miss for me, but this one was definitely a hit!

Such a sweet sister story from Jenny Bayliss. Her winter books always hit the spot for me, and I think this is my second favorite by her (Second Chances is first)! I loved the small community, the sister dynamics, and the winter solstice celebration.

I so wanted to post this review a couple days ago on the Winter Solstice, but sometimes life throws you a big curveball and you just have to pivot ❤️

I adore @jennibayliss for her cozy, comforting, and family-centered stories, and this year, I cherished her newest book, A December to Remember, even more because it brought me peace, comfort and hope when I’ve desperately needed it.

This story of estranged sisters was full of magic, love, forgiveness, and holiday cheer in a charming English village, and knowing I could listen to it on my drives to and from the hospital brought me some much-needed hygge and joy. Narrator Elizabeth Sastre was wonderful, and I couldn’t help rooting for all three of the North sisters as they came together to reinstate a Winter Solstice festival, and to also recognize just how much they need one another.

This was a wonderful holiday read, and it found me when I needed it ❤️ Thank you so much to @jennibayliss @prhaudio @netgalley and @putnambooks for my gifted e-book and audiobook!

Thank you to Netgalley and PRHAdudio for the ebook and ALC!

This honestly moved pretty slow for me. I almost decided to DNF, but because it was my treadmill book, I decided to keep with it.

It wasn’t for me, but a lot of people have said they loved it. I loved the 12 dates and others didn’t, so maybe you’ll love this one!

What a sweet and heartwarming book! The story centers on three estranged sisters Simone, Maggie, and Star. They had a well-known and loved father who they spent summers at his home in Rowan Thorpe. After reading their father's will they discover they must go through a series of hurdles to receive their inheritance.
The book has a great blend of family and romance. The town of Rowan Thorpe is very vividly described as charming.
The book gives you the warm Hallmark feels but there's so much more substance to the characters and story itself. It's fun, light in places, and deep in place, which is a good blend.
I highly recommend this book and this author! Her other books are just as charming!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the chance to read this!

Unfortunately, I did not finish this book. This was simply a miss for me. There were so many characters and storylines that I had difficulty keeping everything together. I also did not feel connected to the main characters. I may give this book another try at a later time.

Augustus North left his daughters a bit of a riddle when he died. In order for them to claim his inheritance, they have to complete two tasks. They have to find all the little Monopoly houses he hid in his curiosity shop and they have to have a winter solstice party for the whole town.

Maggie, Simone and Star are half-sisters. All daughters of August and all raised by their mothers. They were “summer sisters” who spent a month together with Augustus every summer. As adults they’ve drifted apart. You can tell that Augustus wants them to reconnect after his passing. So his challenges are likely intended to bring them closer together.

I liked each of the sisters and their stories.
Maggie is the oldest. She has kids of her own. She’s worried about committing to a new relationship and about her house.
Simone is worried about whether having kids, or not having kids, will change her marriage.
Star is a big adrift. She’s trying to get away from a toxic ex that she dumped years ago.

All three need the inheritance but they need each other more,

My only constructive criticism of this book was that it felt a bit too long. I think I would have appreciated it more if it had been a bit shorter, I guess some of the dialogue and storylines felt a bit too in depth for me. But I did absolutely love the storyline with the winter solstice party.

I got to read an early ebook edition on NetGalley. Thank you!

Jenny Bayliss is a go to for me when it comes to holiday reads. A December to Remember sadly did not give me all the holiday feels I was hoping for. Winter feels... nailed it! I loved the quant town with its quirky townsfolk. I loved when they finally started prepping for the towns Winter Solstice celebration. The book overall was just way too long for what it was.

I would say if you go into this knowing its not going to be christmasy , you might enjoy it more.

Thank you to Netgalley and GP Putnam Sons Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Every time I pick up a new Jenny Bayliss book, I hope that it will capture the holiday fun, magic, and charm that was so prevalent in her debut, The Twelve Dates of Christmas. Every year, I find myself sorely disappointed with this year's read, A December to Remember, being the most monumental let-down of all.

I could unfortunately tell from the very first page that A December to Remember was not going to be it for me. We are immediately thrown into the disorder and melee following a small-town's strange, and now dead, Lothario. He leaves three semi-estranged daughters in his wake, all birthed by different mothers, who grew up only spending their summers together. Thus, their relationship isn't the best, but in order to receive their inheritance, they must work together to follow a trail of clues that their father has left them to revive the town's Winter Solstice Festival.

While this novel did not work for me due to its detached writing style and superfluous amount of supporting characters, it will be right up the alley of those who enjoy quirky reads that feature eccentric people and places. Readers who love books with small town vibes and all manner of personalities among the townfolk will appreciate what Bayliss was going for in this holiday-lite read.

I loved this book!!! perfect for the holiday season and to make you understand the real meaning of the holiday season.

3 sisters that only used to see each other for a month during summer. 3 sisters that haven't seen each other in a while and get together after their dad died. 3 sisters that have to work together to fulfill their father's last wish and bring together the winter solstice festival for one last time. 3 sisters with different problems: scared of loosing people and about to be evicted from her home, infertility and not knowing her path and purpose in life. 3 sisters that learn from each other and become real sisters.

3 beautiful stories about 3 strong woman, different but linked by their love for their family, for each other and for their father.

I just couldn’t get through it. It had soo many characters, storylines, that I just couldn’t keep it straight. The dialogue was off for me as well. I will try something else from this author in the future maybe since so many love her, this just wasn’t for me.

Read for Winter Solstice, Small town, sisterly relationships, family dynamics, cozy vibes.

Jenny Bayliss is the queen of winter cozy British books. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her newest and then waited to read until December and I wish I read earlier. You could read this anytime during the winter, not just in December.

This story focuses on estranged ‘summer’ sisters – who all have the same dad but only saw each other growing up in the summer in the small town of Rowan Thorp.

There is some romance, but it takes a backseat to the storytelling of family dynamics between the sisters.

This was a sweet story from one of my favorite holiday story tellers. I loved that the story focused on the relationship between the three sisters and the Winter Solstice. As usual, Bayliss created a very cozy setting with the town of Rowan Thorp.

I would have loved to had more back story on the sisters. Their relationship with each other and with their father felt a bit thin at times.

A cute holiday book that isn’t solely a romance! The whole book felt like a warm hug and the characters very lovable. Having 3 sisters as the main characters did mean having a lot of storylines going at once, but they consistently came back to the main thread of the book, getting them to be better sisters than they were.

A December to Remember was a heartwarming story about estranged sisters reuniting with a little help from their deceased father. I enjoyed getting to jump into the lives of each sister and see how they are able to reconnect. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a sweet holiday read that does not focus heavily on Christmas.

A December to Remember by Jenny Bayliss is a holiday themed story. The wintertime setting will definitely put you in the holiday spirit. I loved the premise of this book, but I found that it started pretty slowly and was hard to get into. Overall, it was a good read. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
