My Thoughts:
Good Morning Sunshine 😊
The story behind the Worthington’s and Kneaders Bakery and Cafe is an interesting story which they write about in this book including their family and how they helped create this legacy. But I have to say the pictures of their food and recipes are what will have to coming back to this cookbook often. I always have to make at least two recipes before I review a cook book for you all and although I didn’t bake or make all the receipts in this book I can say you will not be disappointed with most of them. Next on the list is Dave’s BLT
I listed their website so if you’re in the states listed below you can stop by and try one.
Thank you so much @shadowmountainpub #KneadersBakeryCafe #NetGalley

This establishment was started by Colleen and Gary Worthington in their home during their retirement years! They opened one store and did all of their baking at night with the kids help!
There are so many delicious and different meal choices in this book - you could do one a day and not run out for a year!
The first one is Blueberry - Lemon Muffin Tope, which uses blueberries, lemon, salt, flour and sugar and powdered sugar, lemon and vanilla for the topping.
The recipes run from simple to complicated, so choose a recipes that you are comfortable with and go from there.
The Berry Delight Salad is full of fruit, lettuce, walnuts and homemade Blueberry - Pomegranate Dressing and it looks scrumptious and easy to fix!
The smoothies are full of fruit, sherbet, and nuts, and they would be a welcome treat on a hot day!
There are sandwiches made with cheese and fresh meat that are simmered slowly in the slow cooker until they are tender - such as the French Dip Sandwich, there is a Pumpkin Curry recipe that uses pumpkin seeds, puree and half and half, and Jalapeño Cheddar Bagels that will take some practice to put together!
Enjoy these recipes and the family stories that go along with them!

I'm in Canada, so have never heard of this kneaders place, though the next time I'm in Utah, I'd check it out. Side point, Utah is beautiful and everyone should try to go. I digress, I'm also not a Mormon, so I had very little interest in the personal aspects of this book, I'm a jump to the recipe kind of girl. The recipes I do feel I can comment on with authority however having been in the food industry at the beginning of my career, and these are excellent recipes (once you bypass the lengthy prose). I wouldn't say the recipes are simple, rather approachable, as they use accessible ingredients and no methods or instructions are unusual or complicated. I even learned you can use mayo to enhance a boxed cake. Who knew? Of course I haven't bought a boxed cake mix for about 25 years, but whatever. I prefer my cookbooks to be recipes and pictures only, but that's just me. The recipes look great though! I received an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley for an honest review

As someone who used to work at Kneaders and knows some of the recipes, thought you’d like to know they are legit. And if there’s anything I learned about Colleen Worthington (the author and co-owner/founder of Kneaders) it’s that she does everything with her heart. She put her heart into Kneaders and I can see that in this cookbook as well.

It’s a weird feeling reading through the book and seeing photos of people I worked with and learning more interesting facts into their history and how recipes came about. Weird but also interesting.

Some favorites that I think are must-tries:

Blueberry Lemon Muffin Tops
Cinnamon Rolls
Buttermilk Caramel Syrup
James’s Chunky Cinnamon French Toast
Southwest BBQ Chicken Salad
Irish Stew
And all of the yummy breads

Loved that with most recipes, there was a tasty tip section that you can get even more creative on what sounds good to you.

Also…I thought that was a good tip how to make your own buttermilk if you don’t have it on hand since that’s not a regular thing in my kitchen.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Wow...what a book! An incredible and beautiful cookbook with so many amazing looking meals it really was hard to pick a first to try. I must of bookmarked half the book on the first go through. I so want a copy of this book! It was amazing. From the salads, to the sandwiches I was salivating!

What did I like? The book is broken down in sections which appeal to me and the it branches off. The salads drew me in but it was the breads that truly sold me. Southwest barbecue chicken salad will my first trial in this book. The pictures were fantastic. I’ve had chicken salad but you had me at barbecue! There are some homemade salad dressings also which I will also be including with my salad. The book includes some in depth to the family and various stories about the actual restaurant which I find charming!

Would I buy or recommend? I can’t gush enough about the pictures and recipes in this book. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and types of desserts and bread. It’s a great lunch book! I received a complimentary copy to look at and give my opinion. You won’t be sorry you grabbed a copy of this gorgeous book! Five huge stars!

This book has recipes that are easy to do with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry or cupboard. I like the personal touch of why someone likes the recipe or the memory associated with the recipe. I definitely will be giving some of these recipes a try!

I’ve grown up with Kneaders Bakery. I was thrilled to see the cookbook. Now that I love far away from Kneaders I can make the classic recipes on my own. Beautiful pictures. Loved the stories in between about the family and the ideas for recipes. Definitely a treasure of a cookbook. Very well done.

This is a beautiful cookbook for a wonderful local to my area bakery and cafe. (Kneaders is currently in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Texas and Utah.) Full disclosure, I’ve eaten at Kneaders many times enjoying sandwiches, soups, pastries and their Saturday all you can eat french toast. This cookbook includes includes those items and more like salads, breads, cakes etc. Some recipes have been retired from the cafe and others are family favorites no longer used. I like that color photos are included as well as tasty tips, substitutions and personalized comments. I like that they include cake recipes that are made from scratch and ones where you can use a box mix with add ins. I’m not a huge baker but there is more than one recipe that I am going to give a try. This is lovely cookbook that is well laid out and feels personalized. It would please any baker or cook especially if they already are familiar with Kneaders Bakery and Cafe.

Thank you to Shadow Mountain Publishing for the ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This recipe book is full of mouthwatering pictures and enticing recipes. I personally loved all the Salads in this book as they're simple, delicious, and include recipes for the dressings.
I loved reading the stories in this book as it was sweet to see how their family influenced their restaurant and their food. It's fun to see the influence the good food has on the community as well and the stories were very touching.

One of the drawbacks for me personally was the fact that for a lot of the recipes they say to use a specific type of Kneaders bread. As there isn't a Kneaders near me I can't get the bread easily. There also wasn't a recommended substitute for the bread if you couldn't get it from Kneaders. It made it hard to feel like I made the French toast right, or could even replicate it, because I didn't have the very specific type of bread. The sandwich recipes I could find ciabattas for at the grocery store, but once again they recommended very specific breads that aren't readily available. This making those recipes feel too complicated for a mom of two kids trying to make yummy sandwiches for lunch.
I was also a little taken aback that for a recipe book for a restaurant that uses lots of breads there wasn't any bread recipes included in the book. I guess I figured in a Kneaders recipe book I'd learn to make the bread that Kneaders is famous for.

The recipes are really delicious and it's fun to be able to replicate them. I love the variety of dishes for each meal of the day and the variety of flavors.

There are so many recipes packed into this book! From breads to breakfast to dessert this book had it all. From soups to drinks there is something for you in here. I loved the added details of stories behind the recipes and restaurant.

I love cookbooks so I was so excited to see this one available to review. This cookbook is amazing (especially if you already love Kneaders). The photography is gorgeous. There are so many recipes and they are easy to follow.

Interspersed with the recipes are stories about all the people who played a role in making Kneaders what it is. These stories are interesting and touching and I appreciated learning more about everyone behind the scenes.

Recipe-wise, there are so many delicious things to make for any occasion. And they provide so many helpful tips so even new bakers should be able to replicate these recipes. I am so excited to make so many things in this cookbook.

Thank you to Netgalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an e-ARC an exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was such a great cookbook. I love how along with the recipes there are stories about how the bakery was started and all the people that have been a part of it for the past 25 years. I think some of the recipes sound amazing and I can try to make.

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is a beautiful cookbook that offers unique recipes that anyone you are cooking for will enjoy. One of the things I love about this cookbook is that it focuses on the sweet side and gives recipes for any meal/occasion that make it acceptable to eat dessert anytime. It includes sections for breakfast, smoothies, salads, soups, breads, dips, cakes, trifles, cookies, bars, pies, and then a miscellaneous “sweets” section. I am so excited to make numerous recipes from this cookbook. I always appreciate when a cookbook has a photo for each recipe and this one does that well, beautiful and delicious photos. It is very easy to navigate because of the layout but also the detailed index in the back of the book, which I appreciate.

I enjoyed reading about the people who were family members or employees or people who were connected in some way to the restaurant. It is nice to see how the owners of a restaurant are so involved with their customers and community. I also enjoyed the intro about the author and how she and her husband opened their own restaurant. It always helps you appreciate recipes better if you can have some background on where they come from.

Overall this is a lovely cookbook!

Kneader’s Bakery & Cafe book is the story of the Worthington’s journey to their first Kneader’s to where they are now, along with stories of the people and events along the way. To top it off, there are recipes with beautiful photos that make you want to start cooking and baking immediately. They are absolutely inspiring! This would also make a great gift.

Thanks to NerGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for this ARC.

Kneaders is my favorite sandwich shop, so I was thrilled about a cookbook. I found the recipes easy to make and many had ingredients that I already had on hand. This is a collection I’ll use again and again!

I have never been to Kneaders, but I found the stories behind the essential people involved very interesting and a great addition to the cookbook.

The pictures were great (I always love cookbooks with plenty of pictures) and the recipes weren't too complicated.

I really enjoyed the stories throughout, not only about the families and people involved, but about the recipes themselves and how they came to be.

The Tasty Tips were also a nice little addition.

Something I think needs to be known before hand so no one is disappointed is there are some of the recipes you can't try if you don't have access to a Kneaders because they call for the Kneaders bread (which I don't have near me), so those would be good for people near a Kneaders, but the others I could try were great. I suppose they need to keep some secrets, but including the bread recipes might be nice. Or at least list an alternative when you can't get their specialty bread or a recipe.

Overall, it's a good cookbook with nice stories interweaved throughout.

I love Kneaders. I eat there fairly regularly and love their food. When I saw there was a cookbook I KNEW I had to have it. The recipes are delicious and the pictures are beautiful. There were a few key food items missing from the cookbook (I’m sure for a reason, being it is their key item) but I was REALLY hoping it would be in here. So I was a smidge disappointed. But overall had great recipes.

I’ve tried multiple recipes in this cookbook and have loved them all! It says something when a new recipe replaces a time honored, tried and true family favorite!
