Sheryl Browne never fails to come up with a new addictive read, and her latest book is no exception. My Husband’s House, written from multiple viewpoints, is a definite page turner. When Ben and Naomi move to a new home, it’s not quite what she imagined. Pregnant with her second child, she plans to spend her time renovating this run down property. It seemed odd to me that her husband had purchased this place, especially as he didn’t appear to be very interested in giving her any help with the work, nor did they appear to have much money with which to carry it out. As a medical photographer, he always appears to be on call and stressed out, which begins to cause friction within the marriage. Added to this, Naomi is superstitious and when unexplained events begin to happen it makes their relationship even more tense.
It’s a journey where things aren’t what they seem, and you the reader, begin to have your suspicions. There are many false trails laid in this story and it’s difficult at times to work out who’s the hero and who’s the villain. It’s a tale of tragedy, family trauma, secrets and lies. And, as usual with Sheryl’s books, the characters are given a pretty tough time before the story finally comes to an end. Recommended.
I would like to thank Netgalley, Bookouture and Sheryl Browne for an ARC of My Husband’s House in exchange for an honest review.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘My Husband’s House’ by Sheryl Browne in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Naomi Felton and her husband Ben move to another house in a new area and she’s worried that she and their children Liam and Maya won’t make friends. She’s pleased when she meets their new neighbour Sara who’s friendly and welcoming but as soon as Sara meets Ben she makes it clear she doesn’t like him and tells Naomi he’s controlling her. For some reason Sara’s boyfriend Paul doesn’t like Ben either and appears to have a grudge against him. When Naomi learns the history of their house she wonders if Ben is keeping secrets from her and fears that moving there could be a big mistake.

‘My Husband’s House’ is an exciting thriller of secrets and lies that’s kept me immersed in the characters’ lives from the beginning. The plot is well described and becomes increasingly chilling as Naomi learns the history of their house and it becomes clear that Ben isn’t being truthful. This novel is one of those page-turners that has an abundance of tension, suspense and intrigue so you have no alternative but to keep reading for fear of missing one of the many twists or turns. It’s an exciting thriller that’s easy to read and I can recommend.

This book was creepy, twisty, and full of suspense.
At first, you read it and it all seems normal. Just a story, no big deal. But then it picks up speed and some unexpected twists and turns show up, and it gets weirder and creepier with each page. There was so much nerve-racking suspense! And in the very end, it feels like a huge fountain of truth bombs going off all at once.

Complex and complicated thriller, who is the bad guy? Lots of twists, an intriguing take but a bit drawn out.

This is a well-written, entertaining, intense and gripping, psychological thriller. It is fast paced with a likable female protagonist, murder, mystery, suspense, tragedy, twists and turns, and an unexpected ending. Many thanks to Ms. Sheryl Browne, NetGalley, and the publisher, Bookouture, who kindly provided me with an ARC of this outstanding novel. This is my honest opinion.

A family moves to a new town and the wife discovers her husband has been keeping secrets from her.

I wanted to love this book, and did in fact love much of the plot and especially the twist towards the end. However, all the good parts of the story did not equal to a good book. The main issue is the dialogue between anybody and everybody. Almost none of it felt real or even plausible at times, too much conversing with the small children who are not a pivotal part in most of the drama, Naomi and Ben seemed bi-polar and nonsensical most of the time, and Joan appeared senile at times, completely lucid at other times. A more developed and intricate plot and less talking would have worked better for me.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Wow what a book loved it, very addictive. It makes you think, do you really know someone who you love and have put your complete trust in, obviously not. The characters were brilliant which makes the book so good.

This is the first book I have read of this author and now can’t wait to read more.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC

This is the very definition of PAGE TURNER. I blasted through My Husband's House in less than 24 hours because I could not stop.

A new family moves into their dream home, but one of the homeowners starts finding mysterious....things. Are they being haunted or is it something more sinister?

Sheryl Browne seems to be a master at world building and I'm now on the hunt for everything else she's written.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review.

This is another great book by Sheryl Browne. It’s full of unexpected twists. The ending left me with a lot of questions since it’s open to interpretation. Throughout the book I felt like I knew what was going to happen only to find myself wrong. Overall this is a great book.

This story gripped me from the beginning. It entails a family moving to a new house with a dark history. A lot of dark, twisty twists in this story that maintain your interest throughout. A theme of the story is "Do you really know people?", and "Can you trust people you think you know?" A great read. Highly recommend.

I quite enjoyed this book and there were lots of twists and turns . I must admit I am a fan of this author but I didn’t think this was the best I’ve read . Very interesting story and great characters and definitely worth a read though . I would still recommend it but I’d only give it 4 stars

‘My Husband’s Secret,’ instantly gripped me. I loved the premise of a family moving into their dream home, only for superstitious new home owner, Naomi, to start finding things to feel uncomfortable with. Some of the descriptions were almost haunting to the point I got a shiver up my spine. I enjoyed the introduction of Little Buttons. The toy brought with it as much intrigue as the house’s past did.

The children added to the layers and I loved their interactions with the neighbour, Sara’s children. Then the two families, entwined by their proximity and at similar life stages brought the drama. So many questions popped up and the answers were coming at a high price for the characters. There were tragedy, tears, danger and twists - everything needed to make a great psych thriller.

I found this book to be a real nail biter with a WOW ending. Another cracker and definitely a must read!

3.5/5, rounded up | Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love a good mystery/thriller so I was excited to dive into this. My Husband’s House was a fast paced, quick read that kept you sucked in thanks to the multiple POVs and cliffhangers. There were plenty of twists and turns, some that I predicted and others that were a surprise.

Pros:
- page turner
- suspense building
- quick read

Cons:
- it felt a bit jumbled - I was anticipating the reveal to unanswered questions, which I got, but it all kind of poured out at once as opposed to a slower reveal which I personally would’ve appreciated more
- the ending (literally the last page) wasn’t as satisfying as the rest of the book

Minor, but I don’t think the cover or blurb match the story as well as it could’ve.

This was my first read by Browne and I’m excited to check out her other works!

Told from a few different perspectives, Naomi has recently moved into a new house with her family, when things don’t go as smoothly as one would hope. As a superstitious person, too many things happen which don’t sit well with Naomi and sadly things start to unravel with her suspecting many of those close to her. With challenging times ahead, who can she trust?…

A slow burner from the start, a few twists along the way, overall a good read.

Moving to a new house in a new location should be a happy thing. But, to Natalie and Ben everything changes for their family. Is the change for the good?
Talk about creepiness going on in the new house! Just reading about what was going on had me thoroughly spooked!
Be ready to go on a twisty, ominous and eerie ride while reading My Husband’s House.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was one of those books which is hard to put down! Told from a few POV but mainly from Sara and Naomi - it starts with a family moving into a run down house. Sarah is the next door neighbour and Naomi is pregnant with her 3rd child!
But the house has a secret - which superstitious Naomi starts to worry about!
There is the usual neighbourhood problems, with Sarah not liking Naomi’s husband Ben, and Ben not liking anyone!
But the secrets don’t stay secret for long and it’s not just the house that holds some dark secrets!!
I really enjoyed it.
