Wow this book is amazing.
Returning to Wales after their honeymoon James dissapears at a service station, his body washes up on a local beach a while later.
This is a great story ,with wonderful characters and is extremely well written. If you enjoy a whodunnits, with lots of twists and turns and misdirections then you will not be dissapointed reading this book.
Did not expect that ending.

I have read every book John has written and have loved them all! This latest book has everything a reader expects from an accomplished writer - mystery, suspense, well developed characters and plenty of twists and turns. The writing is clear and concise, and the plot is immersive, and whilst the chapters flow seamlessly as Daisy tells her story in flashbacks - both before and after her husband’s murder, we must question if she’s a reliable narrator… I don’t want to detail any spoilers, but I can say that I certainly wasn't expecting the direction the story took in more than one place - it kept me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages at a rapid rate.

All in all, a brilliant read with a fluid storyline, which is excellently written, and that ending - wow!

Thank You Boldwood books and NetGalley for my ARC of this . I recommend going in blind and just enjoying. The twists are many and the ending is a jaw dropper. If you like SE Lynes give this one a try!

Brilliant read. It is an intriguing novel about losing love and its consequences. I don't want to say too much as I don't want to give away the plot, but even though you may feel that you have it figured out, the author still leaves something to surprise you with.

John Nicholl is a brilliant writer of the dark side. The Bride kept me gripped from the start. Fantastic story line that will not disappoint. A National Treasure of Wales

I have read most of this authors work with mixed success. Some were big hits and fewer not so good but they are always guaranteed to be fast paced page turners. ‘The Bride’ is a gripping thriller in the usual vivid style of ex police officer turned author John Nicholl.

Daisy is accused of murdering her husband James and is now sharing her side of the story. We are told the story of their relationship from the beginning hearing of love and betrayal. This is a quick read and due to the fast paced suspenseful writing I once again read in one sitting. This is one of the better novels by John Nicholl and I found it a very good read.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Boldwood Books for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

A slow paced story being told by a mother to her unborn child.
It starts with growing up in Wales where two teens fall in love and get married right after graduating from college.
.
The book doesn’t pick up much until about 60% in but at that point it does get much more interesting. It’s quite a twisted and unpredictable ending, just how you love a good psychological thriller to end, keeping you thinking well afterwards bravo!
3.5 stars

The major mystery in The Bride by John Nicholl is why I continued reading this book to the end. The book is written as a narrative by a pregnant woman to her unborn child. She is in jail awaiting her trial for a murder and wants her child to know the truth. There is somewhat of a surprise ending when the reader discovers who was murdered but by that time it is too late to salvage this dull book.

Firstly I would like to thank netgalley, and Boldwood books, and the great author John Nicholl for an early copy of his book.

I've read a few of this authors books, which are a fantastic reads.he writes great crime books, This is a psychological read.started of great it was abit slower paced.Daisy story shes in love with James they get married and she finds out she expecting a baby, she breaks the news on honeymoon, she doesnt get the greatest reaction to the news.on there way home they stop for a break James disappeared, where did he go ?I found this book abit repetitive in parts wanting the story to move on.so my rating is 3.5 rounded to four.the second half of this book I enjoyed more but wanted more excitement..looking forward to reading more of his books on my kindle.

This book will be reviewed on Amazon and goodreads.

She's on trial for murder-but the truth is she loved James with all her whole heart, they were soul mates together forever,on their wedding day she found out she was expecting their 1st child. But now she needs to tell her side of the story about what really happened on their wedding day, honeymoon and on the last drive they took together. Its time people knew the threat that hung over their marriage and who really killed James..She needs everyone to know she's not a killer because if they don't her baby will have no mother as well as no father.
It's time to tell her story.
Another winner from John Nicholl, pulled me in from the very first page and gripped me till the last, with an ending I really didn't expect WOW
thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC.

This was a real page-turner, with lots of twists and turns! When we meet Daisy, she's pregnant and in prison, and we know her husband, James, was killed shortly after they returned from her honeymoon. Has she been accused of his murder, or is there something else going on? We don't find out for quite some time, as Daisy tells her story in flashbacks, both before and after James' murder. But is she a reliable narrator? A very enjoyable read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Holy Wow!! I devoured this book!! I was hooked from the start, and finished it in less than 24 hours!

John Nicholl did an amazing job with this book! I loved his writing style! In this book, we follow Daisy, who has lost her husband in a tragic murder! It is written from the perspective of Daisy writing in a diary of sorts! Genius!

Definitely add this to your TBR!!! It is a must read!

Daisy is pregnant and in jail, and tells the story of how her beloved husband James disappeared without trace after their honeymoon.
She was very much in love with him, but drifted into a relationship with another man from James's past.

The police officer in charge of James's case warns her about her new man, but she feels he is being over protective and ignores good advice.

I battled to get into this book. It was a good story, but something about the way it was written didn't grab me.
The characters, including Daisy, just did not give a sense of being real. They had no substance, I did not feel a sense of connection to Daisy at all.
Some novels draw you to the characters, and you feel as though you are actually part of the cast, so to speak. I didn't feel that in this book.

I liked the plot, but that is about it. It wasn't rivetting.

I am giving a 2.5 rounded up to a 3 for this book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This author has written a novel of fiction that reads like nonfiction at times. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. The characters are not truly likable, but that is part of this genre. The story is difficult to get through, it that is also because of this genre. This author is talented and gifted at writing a cannot put down novel, a real page turner. The imagery is fantastic. Thanks to the publisher and the author for this copy.

Daisy is a newlywed and pregnant. However, her husband, James is now dead and Daisy is now on trial for murder. How has Daisy’s life spiralled into this crazy situation? Daisy tells her story of how she met James, the wedding and honeymoon, getting their first home and all the events that has led to her sitting in a prison cell.
An engrossing tale that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of Daisy’s young life so far. With only a few characters, you get to know them quite well and twists keep you reading. A short story but well thought out and an engaging plot.

I can honestly say that by page one i was hooked!
Great story line and written in a way that forces you on desperate to find out why the main character ended up where she did.
I thought i understood a lot more than i did but the twists told me differently.
Terrific read which i got through over a couple of sittings.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

This tells the story of Daisy , written in the first person, beginning with how she met her husband James and what happened when they came back from their honeymoon and he disappeared without trace. We know she is incarcerated as she is writing this but not her whole story until it slowly unfolds as she tells it. They stopped at a services for a break on the way home and James went to get some air to relieve a headache whilst Daisy went to the loo and got coffee. She waited and waited and no James. Where has he gone and why?

I found myself quickly engrossed in this. There’s a clever tension and intrigue even though the first part begins as a story of domesticity whilst the reader knows there is just something more. It's brilliantly written to give that sense of “what on earth has happened” which kept the pages turning and I didn’t want to put it down. There’s only a few characters which made me think about the who’s and why’s and at times I still couldn't quite work out what had happened and when I thought I could- was I right?. It's a proficiently thought out plot-line leading to a compelling read. There's a twist and another and another to keep the reader guessing and a spectacular finish-I won’t spoil anything. A stunning read I couldn’t put down and left me reeling. Wow! Just Wow!
