This is a great devotional to read with your children. It was easy to follow and the kids really enjoyed it. I really liked the Know and Do section where we could continue in the Bible. The kids started to look forward to that section and had their bibles ready.

My daughter and I really enjoyed doing this devotional book together!! It is perfect to use with your kids as it opens up a lot of great discussion and creates time for reflection. It is also great for them to do alone too because they are easy to understand and digest. These devotions are the perfect length, and very relatable for kids. These are wonderful to start their morning off with or to end their day as a bedtime devotional to grow their faith.

Thank you, NetGalley,. and Barbour publishing for an ARC in return for my honest review,

This devotional is a great book for kids, easy to read, applicable, and enjoyable devotions each day without watering down truth. I appreciated the different segments in each day's devotion, giving structure and expectations to each day's quiet time.

Know Your Bible Devotions for Kids is listed for 8-12 year olds. These devotions are simple and minimal. Eight-year-olds are capable of much deeper understanding. Each entry is 1 verse, some commentary on an application in devotional style writing, and 2-3 points or questions. This could be used for early readers but should definitely be used only as something additional to deeper study.

*I received this digital ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

"Read God's story... the main character loves you."
This Barbour Publishing devotional written for "kids" by A.L. Rogers has a good, strong Biblical base for Christian readers. I received an advanced readers copy via NetGalley and this is my own personal opinion about the book.
Each devotional opens with a scripture verse, continues with a paragraph about a situation the reader should be able to relate to and then leads to a Biblical event or situation. Each devotion opens with a theme such as, Worship, Respond to God, Give God Your Worries, etc. It ends with a "Know and Do!" section that gives the child questions to answer, scripture references to read and an action he or she might choose to do. The action may include asking the child to pick someone to be kind to or pray for that day, for example.
I appreciated that the author used language such as "Mom or Dad in a sentence. This respects the fact that the child may have only one parent. (Or only one parent or guardian that shares the faith.)
Personally, I feel that an adult should be involved in this devotional time for younger children. I have two 8-year-olds in my life and a third child who is nearly 8 and of the three, maybe one could read and connect with some of these offerings. I feel the writing itself is more geared to 9- to 14-year-olds. Younger readers may benefit from guidance. These devotions would be good for a family or group where an adult could help some children understand some of the words or share in a way to make the work more interesting to some children. I also think a new Christian of any age could find this book helpful as they learn more about the Bible. The devotions deal with many subjects such as honesty, bullying, compassion, judgement/appearance, just to name a few. I particularly liked the reference to a 12-year-old Jesus who stayed behind in Jerusalem, ready to learn, but also needing to obey and respect (frightened) parents.
