A little book to say the least interesting and useful for those who are not familiar with spells.

In the book there are several protection spells that anyone, even those like me who are "ignorant" on the subject, can safely put into practice.

It is also an instructive, interesting read and a great pastime. I can't wait to test some of these spells.

If you’ve been wanting to start protection spell work but were never sure where to start, this is the book for you! Inside, you will find everything from how to do protection spells for yourself to how to do protection spells for others if they wish. There’s also a variety of ways to do that and the spells cover water, amulets, candle spells, and more.

The opening of the book is pretty good and covers the basics everyone new to spell work should know, such as practicing ethically, how to ground and center yourself, and how to cleanse a space or object. One of the things covered that I really like is that the author gives many alternatives to using white sage due to its cultural appropriation as well as how it is now also an endangered plant. There are eight other alternatives listed as well as some tips on where to look for the ingredients listed throughout the book.

Overall, the spells are pretty straightforward and not overwhelming for anyone new to spell work. While the book is aimed at people just starting out with practicing their own spells, it’s also a great book for more seasoned folks to have on hand. It also makes sure readers know that they should be realistic in their expectations since magic doesn’t work the way it does on a fictional level. It doesn’t make the spells any less powerful, but caution should always be exercised with and without protection spells.

This book would make a great gift for a new witch or someone interested in learning more about witchcraft. Plenty of guidelines to get you started, with details about different ritual instruments and what they are used for.

I really liked this book a lot! It's got a bevy of helpful information about protection magic. PROTECTION SPELLS FOR NEW WITCHES explains what protective magic is, and the different types. This book has spells, spells, and more spells, but what's more important it explains how to do the spells, as well as how to use them in your daily life. A lot of "Witchy books" don't give you the information in this book. This is a great resource for all witches to have, and it's a must have for new/newish witches!

A well organized collection of protections for anyone new to witchcraft or in need of a little reminder and inspiration! The author clearly has a background in the subject and I appreciated that part 1 was dedicated to the necessary information required before beginning your practice. This book set out to do exactly what it intended and would be a great tool to refer back to when needed.

Wow. This book is great. It's very comprehensive and I had a great time learning about being a new witch and casting spells safely. I highly recommend it.

What a refreshing book of this style. It’s original with new protection rituals I’ve never seen before but absolutely working rituals. The author made this so easy for beginners I would recommend it to everyone starting out. Even elders, may find something they want to add to their practice.

A Must Have for Beginners

Jess Carlson divides this book into two parts, stating that:
1. The first two chapters of the book will act as your foundation, providing a bit of a crash course in magic and protection work.
2. The second part of the book is where we dive into spells and rituals.

In Part One of this book, the author discusses how protection magic works and why it isn’t a guaranteed cure-all for every possible source of harm in your life. She states that no matter where you live, the safe and practical thing to do is to lock your doors as well as cast protection over your space and home, because the two work hand in hand. She furtherstatesthat like all types of magic, protection magic has ethics and rules that we should follow if we want to see our magic work.

The author defines protection magic, gives a brief history of it, discusses some way to possibly minimize negative or harmful situations you might encounter, and she outlines some points to keep in mind when when practicing magic, such as:
1. Protection magic can be proactive or reactive.
2. Harm is anything that may cause mental, physical, or spiritual damage to us.
3. If your intuition tells you that you’re not feeling safe and something isn’t right energetically, protection magic may be warranted.
4. If you want to work protection magic for someone else, ask them for permission.

In Part Two of this book, the author discusses various types of protection spells. She how protection magic works, some helpful practices for protection spellwork, and using protection objects.

The author provides many spells on protection, ranging from smoke cleansing rituals, using protection oils, bath rituals to using house blessing ritual, protecting your money rituals, and many other types of protection spells and rituals.

I found this book highly useful, and highly recommend it for beginners.

this book was so helpful! i’m only getting into witchcraft and it’s so worth picking this book up. everything is explained in great detail!

This is an excellent resource - thoroughly practical and down to earth without a host of false promises. I really felt the author was a full practicing witch who believed every word she wrote. It was well written and easy to explore. I particularly liked the section that encouraged e book readers to make notes and outlined how to do that.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found Jess about a year ago, and have loved everything she's done. These are easy to follow, well explained spells. I look forward to more of her work!

I really liked this amazing book. It is full of ways to get into a positive mindset and protect yourself when you are feeling vulnerable magically. The recipes are well thought out and the ingredients are not all that hard to obtain. Just reading this book I saw that it was the real deal and the author knows the hows and whys of protection. You will not be dissapointed buying this and trying the many spells given to bring light into a worried situation.

Inclusive are rituals of protection spells, elements of each spell and the materials you will need. This is a must read for all witches no matter what your level of practice.
