I've been reading this manhwa on Webtoon for quite a while so it was amazing to have a physical copy to put on my shelf. The art is beautiful, the pacing is excellent, and the characters are interesting and engaging. What more could you ask for?

It is awesome that WebToon is publishing books of their comics! Noblesse is a supernatural story featuring vampires and monsters as well as four seemingly normal high school kids. Overall, this comic sets up very little world building. It's unclear if Frankenstein's Master is going to be Dracula or someone else. It's great for fans of slow world building, high school students, fantasy, and dark vampire stories. The first volume is pretty self contained, but does leave room for sequels.

Are you looking for mildly nonsensical vampire action wherein a powerful paranormal Noble awakens after an 800 year slumber and immediately enrolls in a South Korean high school? Do you enjoy characters with the slimmest of motives doing ridiculous things? Would you like to see the world's hottest version of Dr. Frankenstein? (Or Frankenstein's monster? I'm actually not sure. He may also just be a dude named Frankenstein.) If those are things you're keen on, then this is the book for you - it's insane, ridiculous, and I read the whole thing in about forty-five minutes despite not necessarily enjoying it, and I will absolutely pick up volume two if the library gets it. It's not great literature or even a particularly good webtoon, but it is a way to shut your brain off for a little while, and sometimes that's all you need a book to be.

A big thanks to Netgalley and WEBTOON book group for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this story when it was being updated on Webtoons, and now I'm glad I can add it to my collection.

Noblesse by Jeho Son is a graphic novel about Cadis Etrama Di Raizel or Rai, as he is known, who awakens after 820 years, and discovers a modern world he simply doesn't understand. Once an extremely powerful member of the Nobles, a race of nearly immortal and powerful creatures, Rai decides to start again as a high school student at Ye Ran High School, founded by his former servant Frankenstein, who is somehow still alive after all these centuries. Frankenstein’s goal—to help his powerful, vampire-like master learn about human life and culture as he protects him from the modern forces Rai cannot fathom. Rai's somewhat peaceful new life is about to be disturbed by The Union, a secret organization interested in using his powers to further their own malicious goals. When past clashes with present in this innovative take on familiar dark fantasy tropes, Rai must do everything in his power to ensure the Union doesn’t control his destiny, and that he can continue to integrate himself into this new, confusing modern world . . .

I just need more people to read this book. Because I will forever be recommending it. Please read it, if you ever decide to pick up a Webtoons comic, let it be this one.

I was iffy about this when I first started reading it because of the art style, it's just not my favorite. But the story was interesting and nicely paced. I am curious enough to read another volume to see where the story is going.

I felt disappointed with this; the art seemed odd and nothing like the cover art, which is gorgeous. The storyline had promise but it turned out to be confusing and hard to follow. The main character barely speaks anything so connecting with him, or anyone else, was impossible for me. Overall the idea that over eight hundred year old vampire goes to a high school needs to be developed properly but here it felt disjointed because the vampire barely spoke anything at the high school and people still seemed to gravitate towards him. Noblesse had promise but the storyline and art were not developed enough to reach the full potential.

Whoa, volume 1 was good good and had me itching to read more by the end. I recently say that this title was adapted into an anime and couldn't wait to pick it up. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

Initially, I thought the story was going to go a completely different way with the characters, but I like where it went without being too cringey (at least, not yet). I can't say much without spoiling anything, but I was invested by the end of vol 1 and will be reading more!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an eArc in exchange for review.

It's been over 800 years since Rai has graced the mortal plane with his presence. He finds himself waking up from his long slumber to his abandoned casket and no one around him. Quickly, he leaves the empty apartment he woke up in and camouflages himself in the most common clothing he sees: a school uniform.

Rai is quick to find himself immersed inside Ye Ran High School. A man of a few words, he's assigned to an unlikely group of friends that watch over the "new foreign exchange student." But he's in luck, the chairman of this school just so happens to be Frankenstein, a loyal servant waiting for the day his Master would wake up. Frankenstein and Rai embark on an adventure of finetuning Rai to the modern world. However, something is amiss in this busy city. What happens when Rai's group of friends get dragged into the drama of his immortal world?

This was originally posted as a webtoon, now released as a graphic novel. Overall I loved the baseline of this story, however I felt that parts of it fell short to my liking. I definitely see the draw, and many paranormal readers will enjoy this story. However, it wasn't really for me as I found it to be dry in certain sections, and the dialogue stagnant. 2.5 stars rounded up.

WEBTOON IS POPPING OFF WITH THESE GRAPHIC NOVELS! Noblesse stole my heart on my WEBTOON app and now it is being printed just to hop onto my bookshelf. I am so excited to eat only PB&Js for a while after all these book-shopping trips I am going to go on. I love me a modern-day vampire man. Especially these ones. TOP TIER STORYTELLING. Also, the anime is good too.

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I thought this was an interesting start to a series. I read the first part of the webtoon years ago but never finished it. The story itself is funny to me as this is supposed to be about, essentially, the most powerful vampire-esque character, but he goes about his life as a student because he finds it interesting after being asleep for centuries. He plays video games and eats ramyeon for the first time. His "servant" Frankenstein even makes him how to guides to help him survive school and learn about video games. It's a good combination of serious action and not so serious reactions to situations.

The art was hard to see on the digital version I received, but from what I remember of the webtoon, it was pretty good. Hard to see some of the actions, but I could not tell if that was just my digital copy or the art style.

I felt lost as a I read this and confused at times to what was going on. I really like webtoons, webnovels, indie comics, etc yet this felt like a chore to read. I think there needs to be a little more development for Noblesse to really set itself apart from other vampire comics out there. I really wanted to like this but it just wasn't for me.

Beautiful art and fascinating characters. I want to know more about each of them. There is a vampire vibe. The plot needs to be developed more for me to care about the characters.

I love to see Webtoons/webcomics getting published "traditionally". Really excited for this author/illustrator and the avenues it will open up for them! I enjoyed this a lot as a webcomic and I enjoyed it in it's graphic novel form, too. I always worry that certain things that are cool in the webcomic (that you, like, website-style scroll through) won't translate well into a print medium but this seemed to work well and I didn't find my enjoyment hindered at all because of the change in format!

The moment I finished Noblesse Volume 1, I immediately rewatched the anime. This is a vampire story with a loyal servant named Frankenstein, ability driven enemy vampires, and high school students. Anyone whose a fan of the Webtoons, or has watched the anime, needs to pick up this physical/digital copy. The characters are unique (my personal favourite being M21 *swoon), serious, and drawn in a simple yet expressive way. Remember that this isn’t a manga, so don’t read right to left.

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, WEBTOON Unscrolled for the eARC.

I wanted to love this graphic novel, as the concept is super intriguing, but the execution just wasn't it for me. I know it's just an intro to the story, but zero things are explained, zero questions are answered, and the protagonist is a passive character the plot happens around, not to.

The three stars are for what the concept could have been and for the sidekicks -- both Shinwu and Frankenstein -- who did the heavy lifting for the plot.

Slow read, but the story is very intriguing that I had to keep going to see what happens. I'm slowly getting into reading Webtoons and this will be one that I will continue to read. I love Rai and I'm very curious to know about his backstory and his dynamic with Frankenstein. I hope the story goes more into details about Rai and what led him to fall asleep, but disappear that no one could find him. I'm also curious in finding out more about Frankenstein and how he came to be what he is

Great beginning to this story. Artwork was a little odd though, but I guess that type of artwork isn't my favorite. However, the characters were all brought into the story nicely and I understand what's happening so far.

The premise of this was very interesting, but overall it wasn't that gripping to read. I like the idea of the "noblesse" and there are some interesting characters, especially the main character's friends, but the main character himself hardly says anything and we learn very little about who he is or what's happening to him, and it was difficult to feel connected to his story. The full-colour panels are lovely, and I thought the action scenes were well drawn and engaging, but some of the pages were so crowded with speech bubbles that it was difficult to tell who was saying what. There was a lot of telling, instead of showing. I found myself skimming through some of these speech-heavy pages. I probably wouldn't continue reading this series as the story didn't pull me in, but it would probably appeal to fans of vampires-in-the-modern-world stories.

Noblesse Vol. 1 was a quick read with an interesting storyline. The book starts off with the reader meeting one of the main characters without any type of background or text about the character. It’s intriguing and makes readers stick around to see what’s going on. The main character, who ends up going by Rai, has the least amount of talking which is very interesting. The book doesn’t get into the backstories of any of the characters in this volume, but I’m sure it will be covered in future volumes.

The layout was smooth and the reader can easily go from one frame to another without much confusion. However, there are some frames that you can’t always tell who is saying what, but it doesn’t take away from the story at all. Since this is a vampire story with some violence I was pleased to see that the images weren’t overly graphic, which makes this an good book to put on shelves for students at the middle and high school levels.
