This was a well crafted workbook for teens struggling with anxiety.
I think it would be best used in conjunction with therapy, or at the very least with the assistance of a teacher or parent rather than for teens to use independently, but it is none the less a great resource. In fact a therapist friend of mine said she was interested in using this workbook with some of her teen patients.

This is a great tool for teens, with short readings on key areas that result in limitations on the adolescent life experiences. Examples and explanations apply to teen life, but concepts are applicable to adults too. Activities are short but powerful and deftly apply the ideas explained in the chapter. Activities in later chapters also make connections to previous chapters to help show the relationship between concepts. I will definitely be recommending this to the social workers at my school.

Thank you to New Harbinger Publications, Inc., the authors, and Netgalley for early access to a digital copy of this exceptional workbook.

I chose this book because I have two teenage boys and wanted to see if this would be a good resource for them. I liked the format, although it wasn't fully formatted due to this being an advanced copy. I could see teens (and adults) benefiting from learning about an action mindset. It's relatable, gave good examples for kids, and I think it would be great for schools to use this work book during a health or social class. I'm hoping to get my teens to read it or use it for talking points together. Recommend!

The Action Mindset Workbook for Teens is a great resource for special education teachers and therapists working with teens who need help with executive function. However, it’s very wordy. No teen who needs this particular help is going to seek it out and complete this workbook independently. As a teacher, I can see myself using this book in addition to other resources, and focusing on pages with fewer words.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

I thought this workbook was fantastic. I think it’s perfect for teens and can help a lot of them who don’t have the language to understand anxiety and depression. Honestly, it can also help adults who don’t have the language or tools. As an educator, I would totally recommend this to students and parents. I would even take some of this and do it together as a class.

I think it’s a great introduction to CBT and gives people basic tools to better handle emotions, struggles, and just everyday occurrences.

Overall, it was great and information that was important was there. With the ARC, I didn’t get the full experience because some of the images were not included yet, so I am hoping the stuff that will be added in, will be just as good!
