this was so fun. I love a mature romance!

Sara and her group of friends are living THE LIFE. Traveling around Europe and living their best lives.
I loved the forced proximity between Chris and Sara and the mutual pining that was going on between them from notes to longing looks.

I am so glad this book was dual POV because it added a level of fun and understanding you wouldn’t have gotten from first person.

I adored how clueless Sara was with she found out Chris was famous. Zoe was so cute and the group of girlfriends is just goals. Sisterhood of the traveling broken hearted friend is what we all need.

I would def recommend this book / series and will be visiting this author again in the future!

This is the first read from Liz Alden for me and it’s such a cute novella!

Sara is a widowed single mom and yoga/vegan who moved to Germany to be close to her daughter who is there to attend college. But when her living arrangements turn out to be her worst nightmare a chance encounter with a handsome stranger in a cafe provides her with a once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in a sprawling mansion for the duration of her stay. Little does she know that her new roommate is actually a famous rockstar…. Talk about lucky!

This book was so sweet and Chris was considerate and adorable with Sara as they struggled with time differences and trying to be together despite the distance.

This showed the struggle with moms when their kids move out and can now focus on themselves and it felt very real.

This was such a cute novella and now I need to read the rest!

I thought this was going to be about wine or a vineyard but she literally drank wine like twice. It should've been called something else.

I truly enjoy the globetrotting that takes place while reading Liz Adlen's stories! Her stories are fun, creative, and steamy. And this Aged Like Fine Wine series is no exception! Each of the stories in this series follows a friend from a friend group as they travel around Europe. Riesling with My Roommate, book 2 in the series, is set in Germany. The character we follow, Sara, is a widowed single mom who has moved to Germany to follow her daughter. But she soon ends up following a rock star when she finds that she has no place to stay. I loved the relationship that Sara and Chris formed. I think he's one of my favorite males in any of Liz Alden's stories! Also, this cover is everything! My biggest complaint with this series is that they're novellas...and I just always want more by the end of the book!

When Sara’s daughter comes to visit his secret is out the window and she’s finding it even harder to keep her attraction to him at bay knowing he can sing and play guitar. This slow burn has some super steamy scenes followed by some super-hot spicy scenes once the tension peaks and they hide their relationship from the public… can these opposites stay together through competing lifestyles?

I loved "Rosé with My Fake Fiancé" by Liz Alden, so I was stoked to get my hands on an ARC of the next novella in this series. I enjoyed "Riesling with My Roommate," but I have to admit, I preferred "Rosé with My Fake Fiancé.

I love the "Aged Like Fine Wine" foursome friend group Sara is in with Emma, Jade, and Tessa (the protagonist from "Rosé"). Their easy friendship, humor, and loyalty to one another make these stories believable. It's fun to read about their individual adventures, as well as their misadventures and shenanigans when they all get together once a month. I love how they are all "mature" 40-somethings getting into sexcapades, having fun, exploring themselves after heartbreak/death/being single for a long time/their kids grew up and moved away, etc. I have enjoyed the European settings quite a bit, though it doesn't seem like Baden-Baden, Germany is a character of this story like Paris was in Tessa and Luc's novella. Sara and Chris, the main male character in this book, spend a lot of time in his massive mansion (though there is a good reason for that... unbeknownst to her, he's a famous rock star whose band just won Eurovision)! Chris intervenes when Sara booked a bad apartment that was covered in mushrooms, offering her a room in his vast property without a moment's hesitation. They couldn't be more different (opposites attract for the win!!), but still, they become roommates, then they become friends, then they become lovers... sign me up! I loved the slowly mounting tension between Chris and Sara. Liz Alden takes her time to let the two characters melange together (like flavors in wine do!) and get to know each other before any hanky-panky happens, leading to a slooooooow burn before even their first kiss. This is a good thing in this instance because what a helluva first kiss! It only gets better from there. Liz Alden is a fabulous smut-writer, and she goes above and beyond here (interesting positions because Sara does yoga and is veeeeeery flexible *wink wink*). Being that Chris is a famous musician, expect a lot of guitar playing, song singing, and band discussions and drama. Unfortunately, I think Tessa was a much more interesting main character than Sara. Sara is a yogi and uploads video content online. She does yoga, films yoga content, and talks about yoga... she does SO MUCH YOGA that I wanted to scream, "DO SOMETHING ELSE, LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE!!" As far as main characters go, she's pretty boring, in my opinion. I also think this story is surprisingly a little too long (even for a novella).
All in all, I have loved this series, and I cannot wait for Liz Alden's next entries featuring Jade and Emma's stories.

The main character, Sarah, often refers to herself as boring… I must say I am inclined to agree with her. I really liked the first book in the series and read it in one day. This took me two weeks to slog through. Nothing technically bad about it, but also nothing that was gripping or interesting.
There was continuously far too much detail that often felt included to meet a word count.

I loved the first book in this series, Rosé with my Fake Fiancé and the second book didn’t disappoint. Dare I say it was even better than the first.


Sara finds herself in a European country with an unliveable apartment. When telling her friendship group about her situation a stranger overhears her predicament and offers her a place to stay. Reluctant at first, Sara finally agrees to his offer. Unbeknown to yoga instructor, Sara, Chris is a famous Rockstar.

I couldn’t get enough of Chris and Sara’s sizzling chemistry; the slow burn was just faultless.

I absolutely adore this group of women and I can’t wait to read Emma and Jade’s stories

Sara's new apartment turns out to be a dud and she ends up living with a famous musician. They don't seem to be compatible at all... but then that all changes.

Spicy romance isn't my go to genre but to be honest, I will always make an exception for Liz Alden books as I'm guaranteed a travel themed read, which is my weakness! I loved this story, it featured three of my favourite topics to read about: travel, music and yoga. It was super easy to read and I finished it in one day. I felt it was very well paced and the sexual tension built up slowly and was fun, with just the right dollop of spice. I didn't love that Sara moved in with a rando to be honest... but the pay off was worth it. Also overlooked that as 40+ romance is a very under represented market in books. Older romance tends to be 60+ characters with second marriages/grown children, so this was a nice change (even with Sara wanting to be nearer to her daughter at uni).
The only (minor) plot point I couldn't get on with was the band being so huge after winning Eurovision that the singer featured on the front cover of Vogue. Eurovision is such a kitsch event in Europe, its not taken seriously at all so I took that with a pinch of salt!

I'd 100% recommend this book for a flight or a great holiday read!

Well written and I loved both characters.

I enjoyed this follow up to Rose With My Fake Fiancé, the first book in the series. A group of friends in their 40s decides to go to Europe to live. Some of them are following children, either way they’re each in a different city and get together monthly.

This book focuses on Sarah, a vegan yoga teacher for Austin whose daughter is in school in Germany. She’s rented an apartment but it turns out to be disgusting. While she relates the story to a friend, a good looking guy named Chris offers her a room in his house and she takes it.

What Sarah doesn’t know is that Chris in the guitarist for a famous band that just won Eurovision. His stage persona is lots of hair and eyeliner, but he’s trying to be inconspicuous. Sarah and Chris have hot chemistry, but she doesn’t know who is he until her daughter comes to stay and recognizes him.

This is a fun opposites attract story with some very spicy sex scenes, 4.5 stars.

Absolutely adored the second book in the series! We got to see some of Sara and Chris in the previous book and I was already super excited to read about them. Loved reading about the friend group, it adds to so much of the series! I loved the details the author gave to the relationship between Sara and her daughter as well. The book was, just like the other books i read from Liz, very well written, had great dialogue and a great storyline.

2.5 stars. Sara moves to Germany to follow her daughter and upon arrival finds her rental to be full of mold and uninhabitable. Chris, a total stranger who happens to be Europe’s biggest rockstar, overhears her struggle and offers her a place to stay. She moves in and the two are total opposites but form a bond that leads to attraction.

I love rockstar romances so I really loved the idea of one set against the beauty of Germany but it fell flat for me. I’m used to Liz’s books being filled with travel whereas most of this one takes place in a house and while the characters did travel, it almost all occurred off page. I really liked Chris and found him to be a wonderful hero. However I could not stand Sara. The fact that she followed her daughter on a study abroad is absolutely red flag insane behavior. I am the only child of helicopter parents who managed to send 19-year-old me off to Argentina for a year and half and then send me on two studies abroad to the U.K. and Tanzania without it ever crossing their minds to move there. In fact all of my close friends studied abroad in Europe and none of our parents though they should follow us. We were adults, and Sara’s daughter is 21, an adult, who is allowed to have her own experiences. Sara having a full meltdown that her daughter would chose to go to a festival with friends rather than go swimming with her was just bizarre. On top of that she was so judgmental of Chris. He is literally giving you a free place to stay in a massive house, you do not get to judge him because he would rather eat a frozen pizza than vegetables. Her passive aggressiveness drove me up the wall. By the end of the book Chris had changed to fit her lifestyle while she made zero concessions and showed no growth. Okay, i think i’m done ranting. I think this was just not the book for me. I have enjoyed other books by Liz in the past and will be happy to read her future books.

I love Sara's story. This is the second book in this series and I love following along with these characters. There's friendship, love, sex, and adventure. Definitely recommend!

I was honestly surprised how much I loved this book! I read plenty of books in this genre, but none specifically like this and I was a little worried I would crawl through it. Thankfully that was not the case! I found the characters and their relationships to be meaningful and believable. Plus, Chris was adorable in how he turned around to care for his roommate. This book made my heart happy.
