Liv's an interior decorator who's business is just taking off, and she's getting married to her childhood sweetheart, Josh, in two months. He's ready to settle down and have children, while she'd rather focus on her blossoming business and traveling the world. Her case of cold feet leads to an accidental fall, and Liv wakes up in a different timeline, where nothing's the same. Liv must decide whether she wants to make a new life for herself, or return to the one she had.

The whole different timelines concept was so interesting, especially since Liv didn't wake up in a magically perfect world. I can't imagine what it would be like to suddenly have no identity, and I thought the setting really amplified this, as it wasn't a big city where Liv could have had a cash-only existence somewhat easier. I enjoyed the "It's a Wonderful Life" aspect of Liv discovering everything that had changed in her friends' and family's lives without her in them.

Josh's POV gave off serious Nick Dunne in "Gone Girl" vibes for the first part, and I just kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never did, which was slightly disappointing. I also don't know if I would really classify this as a romance, as Liv and Josh are already engaged when we meet them, and apart from Liv's disappearance in the main timeline, they don't have any major conflicts. In Liv's new timeline, Josh is with someone else, but we don't really see that relationship, and Liv has minor flirty interactions with a detective on her case, but nothing serious enough to be called a romance.

Breathtakingly unique and beautiful multi universe love story. Reminded me of the film sliding doors which has always resonated with me as I have often pondered "what if?" and how the choices we make affect our future. A cascading domino effector people's lives and choices which was brilliantly told in this book. How one tragedy can also lead to something wonderful. Absolutely recommend this book.
"(Time)...It slows enough for me to send my thanks to the universe for showing me what another life might be like and how extraordinarily lucky I've been to have mine".

The Vanishing of Will Byers but it's a romance? I genuinely enjoyed this read and the characters in it. They were believable, not cheesy, and the emotions read.
So Olivia's getting married to her childhood sweetheart, but she wonders if she's missed out on anything by only being with one guy. Then she gets the opportunity for a fresh start except it's hell for both her and the people she's left behind.
I flew through this one. I'd definitely recommend it if you like contemporary romance but want a fresh plot.
I also have to say I appreciate the references to locations in Wilmington. Having been to the area before, I could visualize exactly where the characters all were throughout the story.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for this honest review.

I almost never DNF a book, but this was the first of the year. The premise sounded really intriguing! However, it fell really flat for me in delivery. It could have been so much more, but just dragged on and on and around and around...I made it to about 40% and then cut my losses.

When I first read the description of this book, I was really intrigued. I love the idea of exploring what would happen if x had made a different decision. However what’s most intriguing is the fact that the main female character, Olivia, is aware of this alternate timeline she’s been thrust into. She had this perfect life with her fiancé and after slipping off of a cliff into a lake, she wakes up in the hospital and her parents, friends, and fiancé have no clue who she is and she has absolutely nothing.

I read this book in one day, not one sitting, but it was really engaging. What I loved most was the back-and-forth between the timelines. It begins with the normal timeline but after the cliff incident, it alternates between Olivia’s point of view from the alternate timeline and her fiancé’s point of view from her original timeline.

Overall, this was a great beach day read. It wasn’t too heavy, but it does have some suicidal thoughts if that is something that may have an impact on you. It was brief but thought I would mention it.  It didn’t have many sex scenes and they were fairly mild, in my opinion. The ending was a HEA (Happily ever after), and it was satisfying, but it did leave me wanting just a little more.

Just FYI, I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for this honest review.

Have you ever thought about how your life would play out if you had made different choices? Liv has been with Jake forever, but what would happen in another life? This book reminded me of Sliding Doors with two different timelines- one where Liv died and her family must deal with the aftermath and one where Jake saves her.

This book was really good- it sucks you down the rabbit hole so you need to know how Liv's life will play out! I devoured it in 2 days. I kept rooting for Liv and Jake to get together in both worlds. The story line was great, as were the side characters. This book was a thought provoking, well written depiction of how everyone reacts to grief (and love) differently.

A different kind of book from the one I usually read . Olivia is engaged to Jake and is going to marry him in a couple months before the accident happens ahd she wakes up and her loved ones think she is trying to scam them . Their Olivia had been dead for sixteen years and her Jake is engaged with another woman . She is trying to win her family back but her father and sister are hard to believe her . Her new life as no-person is not what she wants so she will try to get back to her old life . Will she make it back to her Jake ?
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .

I read 25% of the book and DNFd. It just didn’t grab me like I was hoping it would. It was boring and just felt like it was dragging on.

Loved reading the engaging and enthralling story. When Olivia and her fiance, Jake, celebrate their anniversary, Olivia takes a walk, falls off a cliff into the water, and ends up in an alternate universe where no one knows her, and Jake's in love with someone else. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story.

BLURB:
What if you could do all the things you never did . . .

Meet Olivia. Her life is just about perfect. She has a great job, a close-knit family — and she’s going to marry the love of her life this summer.

So what’s missing? She’s twenty-eight years old and she’s never left her hometown. And Jake is the only boyfriend she’s ever had. Her friends tell her how lucky she is — and Liv believes them. But there’s still something bugging her.

After a romantic lakeside picnic to celebrate their one-year engagement, Liv takes a stroll to clear her head. She slips and loses her balance, plunging into the cold lake water . . .

When Liv wakes up, she’s in a hospital bed. The nurse tells her she was brought in by a dog walker who found her unconscious.

But Liv has no scratches or bruises. And there’s no engagement ring on her finger.

Her family, her fiancé and everyone else she thought she knew don’t know who she is. And Jake is about to propose to somebody else.

So now Liv has a chance to do all the things she never did. But maybe she doesn’t want to. Maybe she wants Jake to fall in love with her all over again . .

MY REVIEW:
I loved the premise for this book, after all, who hasn’t wished at one point or another that they could go back and change something, or have a different life altogether?

Although the plot of this book is a common one, and there are a number of movies and books using the same ideas and themes, I still enjoyed this read.

The characters were likeable enough to hold my interest, and the pacing was good.

A sweet, lightweight read easily finished in an hour.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Once I was able to tell my scientific brain that rips in the time continuum can occur this was a really enjoyable read with likeable characters which I read in one day

A fascinating premise for a novel. This wonderful beach read will touch your heart and make you want to share this book with others. Wonderful characters, a fabulous plot and a great ending means that I will recommend it far and wide to friends, family, book clubs and patrons alike. Take it to the neach, backyard or porch and enjoy the hours you spend with it: I certainly did. #shortbutsweetreviews
