This is one wild ride! I never knew if I should be rooting for Emma or booing her. Is Sam her true love or just someone she is using? Is Faith the friend she makes herself out to be? And then Zach pops up in the story. Wow. This book kept me engaged the entire time. The ending was not at all what I expected. I will definitely looking for more books by Rona Halsall.

This is a story about Emma. After the death of her husband Emma is struggling and decides to join a bereavement group. There she meets Faith, one of the speakers and they soon become friends. She also meets Sam, Faith’s brother, who has recently lost his wife and they soon become a couple. They marry and Emma is amazed to find herself pregnant straight away. Emma and Sam are making plans for Sam to build their dream house which will be funded by the insurance money left to Emma from her late husband. Sam works away all week returning on a weekend. But Emma is stunned when she sees an article in a magazine which questions whether Sam is telling her the truth. One day when ringing him another woman answers the phone and claims that she is his wife. Emma starts to realise that Sam is leading a double life. Is Emma being delusional, can Faith be trusted? And what dark secrets is an Emma hiding herself? I throughly enjoyed this book with its gripping plot and interesting characters and so any twists and turns. A recommended read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book,

I enjoyed reading this book, however I felt it was over the top and unrealistic. The predictability of it affected my rating as well.

𝙄𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙍𝙤𝙣𝙖’𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚?

A million per cent yes. I was instantly pulled into this one. Halsall hooked me, held my attention hostage and kept me on edge until the very last page.

This is a book that is tense and completely unpredictable. The characters are mixed, you don’t know who to trust or what to think on occasions.

My heart has been thudding as I’ve read this one. I found myself completely pulled in and engrossed.

I’ve read many books by this author and this is my favourite. I have loved it. This is a book I’ve been completely unwilling to put down.

The Bigamist by Rona Halsall is a psych thriller that catches the reader thoroughly by surprise multiple times. And it’s one of my favorite books that I have read this year.
Emma attends a bereavement group and meets Sam. Their relationship proceeds quickly, they get married, and Emma finds herself pregnant (not necessarily in that order). But when she calls Sam about something, a woman answers saying that SHE is Sam’s wife.
What is going on? Who is lying? Why is Emma paranoid? And what’s with the cryptic text messages she starts receiving and sending.
There is so much more than meets the eye in this psych thriller that I’m afraid this is going to be a short review, because I REALLY don’t want to give anything away. You have to experience these twists for yourself.
And boy, there are a LOT of twists.
I actually guessed a couple of them, but that’s only because (as I’ve mentioned before) I like to try to think of the craziest things I can to see if the author actually “goes there.”
And Rona Halsall most definitely “goes there” in this book!
As I was reading, I had an opinion about Emma that changed several times as secrets were revealed. But it wasn’t until I was writing this review that I realized how clever the author is in Emma’s character development.
It really is a case of the reader being psyched out more than the characters themselves. I’m here for that kind of writing every single time!
I know this is a cagey review, but just trust me when I say that if you think you understand everything in The Bigamist, you probably don’t. It’s a psych thriller that will keep you thinking long after you finish the book. And with that ending, I would love to see Rona Halsall write a sequel!

The Bigamist by Rona Halsall is a dark psychological read . It's well written twisty plot which is made even more interesting due to the unlikable characters and a surprise ending that I didn't see coming.

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Sam seems like the perfect guy, but is he?

Emma meets Sam at a bereavement group and there is an instant attraction between them. She soon finds out she's pregnant and looks forward to building the perfect life with Sam.

But it's not what it seems.

Sam works long hours, takes frequent trips out of town, and is always taking private phone calls. And then there’s another woman claiming to be Sam's wife.

And then the real secrets start to come out.

This was so much fun to read. It starts out quickly and increases in tension at a rapid pace.

It kept me entertained, on the edge of my seat, and wanting to know what happens next.

There were so many unexpected twists and turns that kept me completely hooked. This book is fast paced and a complete rollercoaster ride from start to finish.

Unbelievable twists and turns in this story! Kept me on my toes the entire book!!! Wow!! Loved it!

Emma is grieving the loss of her husband and decides to attend a bereavement group. She makes friends with a counselor named Faith. They become close and Faith introduces Emma to her brother, Sam. Emma and Sam start a relationship and help each other grieve their losses and move forward together.

But someone is lying and without spoiling it....you have to read this book! Wow!!!

If you are looking for a thriller that will keep you up all night, look no further than Rona Halsall’s latest, The Bigamist.

Emma is the happiest she has been in a long while. She is married to a wonderful man called Sam and is expecting their first child. Emma is desperate for her family to work and is willing not to ask too many questions when Sam goes on long business trips or money goes missing from their bank account. Emma cannot imagine her life without her husband – until one day she calls his phone and a woman answers. Confused, Emma asks her what she is doing answering Sam’s phone and gets the shock of her life when from the other end of the line the woman announces that she’s his wife!

Emma cannot believe her ears. Her husband has been leading a double life and the more she digs into his sordid existence, the more shocking secrets she uncovers. Just who is the stranger she married? What other secrets is he keeping from her? Emma knows that she must tread carefully and not reveal any of the aces up her sleeve – because she has dark secrets of her own she would hate to get out…

Rona Halsall knows how to hook her readers and keep them up all the night turning the pages of her books and with The Bigamist she continues to prove to be an extraordinarily talented writer. Shocking, twisted, disturbing and unpredictable, The Bigamist is a dark and sinister page-turner by Rona Halsall you will want to devour in one sitting.

When I saw that Rona Halsall had written a story about a bigamist, I requested it immediately! When my request was granted, I knew I was in for a treat!
But little did I know how emotionally gripping this one would be. At first, the story progressed as I expected it would, but then it didn't and I felt momentarily disappointed, but twist after twist, the story kept me hooked until the end. And what an ending that was...
I highly recommend The Bigamist to readers who enjoy domestic thrillers with a twist. You're in for a treat with this one!

Thanks to Rona Halsall, Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Obviously, my review is in the minority but I really wish I would’ve DNF’d this one. Unbelievable plot, very slow build, unlikable characters. This just didn’t work for me.

At first I was a bit confused about what was happening in the first chapter or so but if you feel similarly stick with this book because it got really good really quick with an ending I didn’t see coming.

The Bigamist by Rona Hall was a quick read with alternating POV chapters. While I enjoy this writing format, I had a hard time connecting with the characters as portrayed. I found the storylines a little too far-fetched and the ending left me shaking my head, looking for another page. Perhaps the author plans a sequel and purposefully left the hanger, but I was left feeling mostly disappointed in this book.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this electronic ARC. All opinions expressed are authentically my own.
