Edit: I bumped my review from a 4 star to a 5 star because Celestine Martin in one of few authors who are writing BIPOC Romantasy books for adults. Most of these books are considered Young Adult and/'or are not considered Romance.

This was cutest little book. The burn was SLOWWW! I have never read a book with this concept of a Witch and a Fae Prince so I thought that was very interesting. I too did not realize this was the second book in the series but I didn't feel like I needed to read book 1. I didn't feel confused, I felt like it was easy to figure out things that I was unsure of. I would have loved more magic in the book though especially from the main characters. Also would have loved an Epilogue to let us know how their relationship turned out, if she applied for the job and how Xavier found work and living in the Grove. That being said this was a fun read.

Favorite Quote: "This kiss broke curses and saved princesses from towers. Kissing him felt hot and expectant, like volcanic lightning hitting the ground before her and electrifying everything. This. Was. It."

I am so happy that I read Witchful Thinking first before this read and it didnt disappoint. Are there any Fae men laying around here?? I am a sucker for a fairytale type of love and this might be one of my favorite fantasy reads. I didn't want it to end.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

After being stood up on the day of her wedding, Ursula has to rebuild her life. Not only does she have to deal with fallout from that debacle, and helpful serving of humble pie, she also has to reconcile with her family because of her previous atrocious behavior - something that occurred in the first book she was featured in. She feels her intuition is off, but sparks fly a little when she meets fey prince Xavier. He claims he’s living under a curse (it’s really an enchantment) that can only be lifted when he experiences the perfect kiss. Ursula offers to help him find that perfect person with whom he can share that special moment.

If you’re looking for an adorable, cozy romance, this is it! The town of Freya Grove is delightful. How special that magic folk and regular folk coexist harmoniously. If you read the first book, and didn’t like Ursula then, take heart that she does atone for her behavior. Xavier is as you expect, a suave gentleman who’s cynical about true love. And we all love when a cynic turns true believer!

I thought this was a pleasant read with both characters maturing, and opening their hearts and minds by the end. As I said, a romance to get cozy with when you need that vibe.

Many thanks to @readforeverpub for my gifted review copy in exchange for an honest review.

I am not usually a fan of witchy reads, but this one interested me. I liked the setting, the trouble with her craft, and of course the romantic interests. Working with Ursula to rediscover her belief in magic was a fun and light trip through Freya Grove.

Kiss and Spell was a cute, fairy tale-filled story about a witch and a fae prince. The fantasy and story book elements were adorable. Watching Ursula figure out who she truly wanted to be and Xavier realize that true love could exist and thrive was so sweet. There was a bit of a lull in the middle, but the second half picked back up and kept my interest. Overall, a fun read.

Kiss and Spell by Celestine Martin is the definition of warm & cozy with this witchy romance that is perfect for this time of year. It gives the best kind of whimsical vibes combined with small town along with family, growth, healing, spice, humor & so much love.

This is book #2 in the Elemental Love series, but it could be read as a standalone. Although, I highly recommend the entire series! I always love a growth/comeback moment for a wonderfully flawed, strong & lovely character & this has that.

Kiss and Spell is perfect for fans of…
✨ Paranormal Romance
✨ Whimsical Storybook
✨ Witch Meets Enchanted Fae Prince

I am completely enchanted by Celestine Martin’s writing & this wonderful world she has created where there’s all kinds of magic. This story simply feels like magic & a storybook romance brought to life. I’ve loved this entire series & I can’t wait to see where it goes next.

If you enjoy cozy, witchy romances with humor, heart & spice, I highly recommend reading Kiss & Spell as well as Witchful Thinking by Celestine Martin!

Massive thanks to NetGalley & Forever Publishing for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

Due to terrible health around this publishing date, I apologize for posting this late. I am always grateful to be approved such incredible books & will be sharing this to social media this week.

Story wise, this still had the small town, magical vibe that made Witchful Thinking unique but it didn't quite flow or grab you in like Witchful thinking did. I think Lucy was easier to root for and I was immediately rooting for her & Alex to get together. That chemistry and passion was lacking just a taste here for me. I wasn't super invested on Ursula and Xavier getting together. However, once they did, I was intrigued enough to see it through. A respectable followup but not quite as Magical as the one before it.

A good read for spooky season, or anytime really. It's kind of enemies to lovers, opposites attract, it's cozy and charming and a good escape. The chemistry was palpable from the start. Ursula is still nursing a little bit of a broken heart and longs for more. Xavier is cursed and hoping to find the right person to help him break it. What they don't count on is falling for each other. Kiss and Spell is cute and magical.

Celestine Martín has done it again! Kiss and spell is a small-town romance between a fae Prince who is cursed and a witch who is trying to get her magical groove back. Ursula wants to make amends with her family, but only after she rediscovers/explores her magic, learn to make wishes again, all while giving up on the fairy tale ending she had dreamed for herself. Ursula needed time to rediscover herself. the first half of the book was slow, but things picked up in the second half. I hope there's a third book in this cozy romance series.

Please give me all the witchy romance books! I liked book 1 of this series, but I loved book 2! I'm not usually a redemption arc fan, but this book did it so well. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Thank you so much to Forever for giving me an advanced physical copy of this book at Steamy Lit Con. I'm sure I squealed when Dana took it out of her bag.

Also, this cover is one of my favorites this year. Did you see the ORANGE spine? Gorgeous.

Im going to be totally honest here, I started this book back in August, it’s now December and I have no motivation to finish this.

I really just think it’s a case of this book not being right for me, not this being a bad book.

I received this book for free for an honest unbiased review from Netgalley.

I wish more books were this well written. Characters were witty and the setting fantastic.

I love Celestine Martin's worldbuilding so much. This was an adorable romance that was partly inspired by the frog prince (except he's not actually frog). The character development in this book is really well done and the characters feel so loveable that you want to wrap them in blankets and protect them at all costs... although sometimes I always wanted to whack Xavier over the head and shout YOU LOVE HER YOU MORON. The first half of the book does move somewhat slowly and it's a little repetitive at times, but for those of us wary of Ursula after the first book, it does establish her as a loveable character working through her mistakes - like all of us - and makes us swoon for Xavier as well. I also really appreciated all the details Celestine Martin put into her book - the uses and meanings behind crystals, flowers, and family traditions especially. I can't wait to read more of this series. It's a really cozy romance and it always makes me wish I could move to The Grove.

Thank you to netgalley and Celestine Martin for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It was great to read another character from this world and series. Although I love a witchy story and a witchy world - I did feel like there were way too many fantastical characters in one book - now, while most didn't have anything to say - the mention of all these. mystical characters I felt was a little overkill, especially for a love story that was being developed.

I loved the Fea part of the story, but Xavier needed clarification. And the almost instant love that is happening between him and Urseualla

It is a great concept, and I love the ending, but I was a little confused and turned around in the beginning and a bit in the middle.

This book was adorable. I love the "Prince charming" and the "no more fairy tales" heroine that was happening here. Both of our leads were relatable with their situations, and their relationship was everything I wanted it to be and more. Why don't I hear more people talking about these books and this author?? It's a shame! Had a great time with this one, and will continue to read in this series as long as the author wants to write in it.

Another winner from Celestine Martin. I loved the inclusion of the fairytale aspect and the HEA throughout the entire book. But more than that I loved how Ursula grew as a person and made leaps and bounds in her development throughout the book. After knowning how she acted in the first book in this series I think I was happier for her character development than her HEA. This is a book I will be recommending to others.

I loved this book! It was a fun and witchy rom-com. I enjoy the world building that Martin has created in Freya Grove. I would be happy to keep reading more titles in this universe.

Loved this little witchy romance. Perfect book to spark off fall season or if you’re into witchy paranormal romances. I read the first installment of the series but it’s not required. This story work perfectly as a standalone. It was cozy, charming, and cute. It was a slow burn but I enjoyed seeing the couple fall in love and grow over time. I think the book had just enough of everything from magic to the humor and lastly the romance. I look forward to the stories for the other Carraway witches. Thank you for the ARC! Forever’s dedication to centering diversity in their publishing always makes series like this a must read for me.

Matchmaker to Mate is by far one of my favorite romantic tropes, partially because it how my own failed love story started. As such I was really excited when Netgalley selected me to receive an ARC for Kiss and Spell. Paranormal matchmaking with POC Fae characters. This novel hit all the hot points that make me adore romance novels.

Ursula and Xavier are my favorite type of main characters, flawed individuals just trying to figure out life and how to live it. Xavier, an enchanted fae prince starts the novel just trying to break the "curse" placed upon him by the Queen of the Fae. Ursula on the other hand is a broken hearted which trying to pick up the pieces after being left at the alter on her wedding day. Add in a match making town, a plan to help each other out and you have the perfect recipe for two magical being to find their own happily ever after.

Without giving to much more away understand that this is a sweet romance novel with an amazingly adorable Happily Ever After moment featuring a Witch and her Fae Prince
