I’m a huge fan of Micalea and her work so when I saw that she had a surprise pregnancy book coming out, I knew I needed to read it asap and I loved it!

This book has some of my favourite tropes:
* Brothers best friend
* Second chance romance
* Accidental pregnancy
* Friends to enemies to lovers
* Workplace romance

I personally loved that Lennon and Beckham didn’t instantly stop hating each other once they found out that she was pregnant. I’ve read quite a few enemies to lovers and it feels like the enemies part stops pretty quickly, but it was the theme for most of this book. Their banter was top tier and the nickname Beckham gave to Lennon was so cute 🥹 I did wish that we saw more of Beckhams relationship with his biological dad. That part did seem a little rushed.

Overall, another home run for Micalea!

I definitely finished this book in almost one sitting and yes it is 3.20 am and I just finished it because I couldn't put it down. So I guess this goes to say that this book is absolutely adorable and not all that I was expecting in the best way possible.
Lennon comes from a rich family where her parents put a lot of effort into their image in society. But she is nothing like her family, she wanted to become her own self and has dedicated her education to become in journalist. So when she finally gets the job of her dreams and moves to New York everything seems to be perfect. Well, she thought wrong, on her first they of work she found out the one guy who broke her heart when she was a teenager, is the photographer for the magazine she works for. Beckham comes from a wealthy family as well the only difference is that he was adopted into wealth and not born with it. Therefore he thinks he views having wealth differently than Lennon. To him, it was also ver much a surprise that the one day he runs into the meeting a bit late is also when he saw the woman he thought he would never see again.
I think this book was very good and very light there is a bit of spicy this book needs. The only thing I have is I think it could have been a tick shorter. Don't get me wrong every chapter is worth reading but I do feel like it could have been a bit shorter. I really love the banter the two of them have and I had a lot of moments where I had a laugh and I couldn't hold a smile back. This is a book to cheer me up for sure!

Getting a second chance!

Lennon Wells never thought she would see her brother’s best friend Beckham Sullivan again after he broke her heart never expecting to see him again but now they had to deal with each other working for the same magazine. But everything changed when they were assigned a project together in a competition to be the lead article in the stand-alone spring issue for Real Point leading to some interesting changes to their lives after Lennon gets pregnant. Now they get a second chance to make a family.

I should remember to never start any book by Micalea Smeltzer thinking that I’ll just read a little bit while I’m on my treadmill because I have to read the next chapter and the next thing I know I’ve walked several miles.

This is a fast burn enemies to lovers/workplace lovers romance. I went into it blind and was not expecting the story to focus on surprise pregnancy (my least favorite trope). Up until the accidental pregnancy I was loving the tension, the brutal heartbreaking history of the two main characters, and the general vibe of the book. Once FMC found out she was pregnant, everything else fell to the side and the entire story became about how she felt in her pregnancy and her stubbornness with respect to NOT dating the MMC. I think the book would have benefitted from another 50-100 pages to hash out more of the issues- like getting some closure with FMCS family, maybe a little longer time where MMC and FMC were enemies, etc. it was a fast and enjoyable read, but I struggle with the main trope. I think a lot of readers will love this story, and Micaela is a fantastic writer.

"it's weird, having a baby, and how you want to show them off. It's basically a crying trophy that says 'I had sex'"

I'm honestly so surprised by how good that was. The writing was really good, I didn't expect much because of the cover and the usual low standards for pregnancy trope romance books but this was a great surprise.

I wasn't a fan of the pet name and the guy talking with his cat but it's quickly forgiven with the great smut, protectiveness and family drama subplot.

I'm ashamed to say that I have books in my Kindle by Micalea Smeltzer that I've planned on reading and just haven't had the opportunity to do so, but after reading Pretty Little Mistake, I will most definitely be pulling those up and diving into them because I really enjoyed this read. I found it to be quite emotionally charged because it brought out all the "feels" for me which actually surprised me because I didn't really like Beckham at first glance. Let me just say that he really redeemed himself throughout the book! Their second-chance romance was fraught with previous disappointments and heartbreak, most especially with Lennon's family. So it was not surprising that I found myself rooting for them right away. Their connection and chemistry was palpable but so was the complexity of their relationship. I really enjoyed how Ms. Smeltzer's writing flowed and allowed their relationship to develop organically. This was a very enjoyable second-chance contemporary romance that I would definitely recommend. I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.

Second chance romances have been my jam as of late and Pretty Little Mistake was no exception! Going into this book, I knew that it had my least favorite trope - the accidental pregnancy trope, however this author did it well and I was able to enjoy the story!

Beckham was a fantastic MMC - he was the ideal book boyfriend for Lennon! Both of these characters have gone through it emotionally and they are able to bring them hurt that draws them together. Even though it took them a bit to accept and admit their feelings, once they did, their story really blew up and became absolutely beautiful!

This author always brings out the emotions in everything that I have read by her and this was no exception. Can't wait to see what she writes next!

The surprise pregnancy twist, though unexpected, added a layer of complexity that was intriguing.

This story is filled with emotion, growth, and the possibility of second chances. Whether you're drawn to the banter, the character development, or the unique twists, there's something in this book for every romance lover.

In the end, it's a 4-star read for me. A tale that's both engaging and thoughtful, with a touch of magic that only romance can provide.

I really liked this one. I like Lennon. She was strong and independent. Growing up she didn't have the parents that she should have. Even now they were rude and cared more about their image than about her. But she showed them that she was so much better than them and I loved that. Beckham was a grump but I loved how much he loved Cheddar. How he talked to him and how he even threw him a birthday party. It was so sweet.

The chemistry between Lennon and Beckham was there and it was spicy. They were each other's first everything and it showed. Even though he was grumpy, he still cared for Lennon. The banter was amazing, as was the character growth.

I wanted more when it came to the reason why Beckham just upped and left when they were teenagers. I felt like it was only touched upon. I wanted more of a reaction from Lennon.

But let's take a minute to appreciate the cover!

I really liked Beckham in this book because after a while, he really did everything for her.

The story starts with one of our main characters, Lennon. She got a new job at a lifestyle magazine but never expected to see the person that broke her heart there, after all those years.

Beckham was her brother's best friend and after they got together, he disapeared out of their lifes…

This personally wasn’t a book for me but I advise you to form your own opinion.

I didn’t like the female main character and it really made me cringe when she was talking about “lady farts”.

Lennon and Beckham knew each other has children, Beckham was her brothers friend growing up. Until Beckham broke her heart and left. Now, years and years later they are face to face again and forced to work together.
Their chemistry is off the charts from the start. You can feel that spark between them when they meet again. However, there is not short of dislike towards each other. But they ride that fine line between love and hate and life decides to give them both a little surprise.
This story was cute, it was sweet, and I did enjoy both Lennon and Beckham’s relationship. They both had a lot they needed to work through when it comes from things have their past and I love that they found each other for the much needed support they needed at times.
If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, second chance, surprise baby, workplace romance check this one out.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I went into this after reading a dark romance hoping for a lighthearted easy to read romance with great characters and that is exactly what I got!

I loved seeing the progression in the relationship between Beckham and Lennon. Seeing them go from 2 people who disliked one another but had a lot of sexual tension to 2 people who were head over heels for the other was so heartwarming!

Beckham’s support of Lennon after Chicago - IYKYK - was so swoonworthy, I enjoyed seeing him go from the grumpy colleague who was a mystery to everyone to him being the complete opposite towards Lennon was amazing!!

Pretty Little Mistake was written so well also, I absolutely flew through it! I highly recommend this book to anyone who was looking for the same thing I was!

I really enjoyed this one! It is my first book by this author and I had a great time reading. Her writing style was so good and easy to read. I read this in one day that’s how into it I was!

Usually the pregnancy trope is not my jam. But I actually really enjoyed this one. Beckett is such a grumpy asshole but also so freaking sweet and swoony. I really liked Lennon and how she was so determined to succeed on her own. And THE BANTER between them?! Top tier.

Overall this was a great read I would definitely recommend! I will also be reading more by this author.

THIS BOOK🥹 Accidental pregnancy is a trope that everyone bashes, but I am here to tell you: GIVE THIS BOOK A TRY. I absolutely loved it. Micalea Smeltzer has such a talent of writing such real and raw characters. They are funny and smart and honest and so human it makes your heart hurt. Beckham and Lennon were childhood friends turned lovers turned enemies. The angst these two had, the TENSION. Not to mention the growth both Beckham and Lennon experienced throughout the course of this book. I laughed, I cried, I pined, I wanted to beat up Lennon’s parents. Just everything. Also, the fact that he calls her honeybee is just so sweet to me. The way he loves her, even when he doesn’t allow himself to call it love, is so pure. These two just wrecked me in the best of ways!!

I absolutely adored The Wildflower Duet in 2022. I had high expectations for this book. I enjoyed this one almost as much! I couldn’t stop reading!

I loved the banter between the main characters and the character growth along the way. There is a part of this story that left me thinking OMG she’s going to rip my heart out of my chest again.

My only complaint was the two cupcake sugar coma comment. Seemed out of character for Lennon.

I was interested in this book after reading the blurb. Accidental pregnancy is one of my favorite tropes, and I thought I should give this one a try. I am really glad I did because this book was quite enjoyable and entertaining. I liked seeing the pregnancy evolving and the way the main characters fell closer to each other. Beckham was my favorite, for sure. Seeing him getting all soft for Lennon and the baby was so cute. I also liked the diverse family dynamics. They felt realistic. Overall, I had a good time reading this one.

So when I saw this I just knew I needed to read it.

It's got the second chance romance which I always love, Office Romance, witty banter which is always fun to read and a certain suprise.

I'm a huge fan of Micalea Smeltzer's work. Her writing style has always been a favorite of mine. She has an amazing talent; that's for sure. The friends to lovers trope is always a classic too. Toss in a touch of accidental pregnancy, and we got a great, emotional storyline here.

The characters in this book are so likeable & relatable. I loved the main character's names as well - Beckham and Lennon.
The character development is great, and I even enjoyed the side characters here.
I found myself relating to both character's trauma and experiences. which made me enjoy the book that much more.

read this book if you enjoy romance. You won't regret it.
