Not sure how many others in the series I've read, but either way didn't seem to matter reading this one. Liked the story and characters, and would recommend this one. Fun read of rich girl and mechanic/race car driver. Would recommend for a quick summer read.

This is book 5 in the series of Kincaids of Pine Harbour. I have previously read books 2-4. This time we get to read all about Josh and his secret wife, Monica. Josh spent time in the US working for a racing team but when he get approached by the owner’s only daughter to teach her about racing, he realizes that one lesson just won’t be enough! Fast forward 3 years and we get to live all the angst in the minds and hearts of a Josh and Monica when they realize they can’t live without each other.

There’s an awesome teaser for the next book and it has me very eager for the next release date!

Three years ago, racing heiress, Monica, had a whirlwind romance with mechanic, Josh Kincaid, leading to a wedding in Las Vegas and a subsequent annulment. When Monica learns their marriage wasn’t actually dissolved she goes to Pine Harbour and reunites with Josh who is not thrilled to see her. The pair get snowed in in Josh’s small apartment and rekindle their romance.

I really like this series. The books move quickly and there is lots of fun drama. This book had the perfect level of angst for me. I loved both Monica and Josh. They both had strong personalities and clear motivations. The connection between the two was electric. I am seeing other reviewers mention editing errors, but I didn’t read closely enough for those things to bother me, I was just enjoying the story. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books in this series.

Thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing Co-Op for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Instagram post to come.

This is a steamy angsty read. I enjoyed the dynamics between Monica and Josh. I loved the princess and the pauper trope. I wished there was more heart to heart discussions about their relationship and its future. Afterall, some of the misunderstandings could have been resolved if Monica and Josh had aired their feelings. Most of the book seemed to be focused on the sexy times. Monica's character needed more development since she still came across as naive but less immature by the end of the story. It was fun to revisit with Josh’s brothers, sister-in-laws and residents of Pine Harbor. Wonder whose story is next? I’m not ready to leave Pine Harbor!

My copy had some editing errors but that might be because I was issued an ARC.

This is a great small town romance that hits all the right beats and warms the heart with a satisfying HEA.

Monica Fisher has found out that she is still married to Josh Kincaid. She now must fly to his town and tell him that she has new papers drawn up for him to sign for their divorce since they were married three years ago. If it would only be that easy. She ends up being stuck in Pine Harbor because of a storm and that means stuck with Josh. who wants to hate her but can’t. The author takes you back on the journey that has gotten to this point and that really makes the story. Once they are together you wonder what will happen. This is a really good book with good characters and a really good ending as well.

Josh had his whole life planned out and it all went to hell the moment he met his boss’s daughter, Monica. Monica was fresh out of college and determined to learn the ropes of the business. She didn’t expect to fall for Josh and Josh didn’t expect to be head over heels in love with her. They secretly get married in Vegas and spend the best two weeks together on their honeymoon. Once they returned, things exploded. They end up going separate ways and moved on after the annulment or are they?

Rebel at Heart (The Kincaid Brothers Book 5) is a second chance at marriage for Josh Kincaid and Monica Fischer. By Zoe York expect drama, angst, and explicit open bedroom doors. This provides plenty of all.

A marriage thought to be annulled before it had much of a chance Josh and Monica find out that never happened. Now for the divorce. However, what brought them together is still there between the two of them. Josh had his heart broken three years ago so he is wary to say the least. Monica is still somewhat under her parents’ control so there are problems there too. A intriguing story, reading to see if what stopped them years ago could be overcome in the present.

Told from dual perspectives with flashbacks the plot is interesting and complex. Reads well as a stand-alone though all the Kincaids are acknowledged and accounted for in this story. Even little Charlie Kincaid is old enough to talk now.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The final Kinkaid! This book had a great build up to it, and I rooted for Monica and Josh from the start. The plot was great with love, family, and second chances, with a few twists thrown in. Absolute must read.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This one is stunning in how beautifully it is executed, with all the layers to the characters, the twists and turns in all its various subplots. I loved so much about it - so so so good! I will write more when my book hangover lets up. It is AMAZING!!.

Rebel at Heart is the final book in the Kincaids of Pine Harbour series. It's an insta-lust turning to love, loosing each other then having a second chance at love story that can easily be read as a stand-alone, although we do get to meet up with all the brothers and their partners. Josh is a very likeable character, nursing a broken heart while pretending to be fine - until he comes face to face with his past - and is forced to work through this feelings. Monica is very young and impetuous in the beginning and it took me a while to warm to her. The chemistry is explosive so there are lots of spicy sexy times, along with some angst. I would have liked to have seen more of the coming to love part and there were elements of their first break-up that remained unexplained, but it is a very entertaining read ending in a tongue-in-cheek HEA.

Married, not married, married?

Josh is a mechanic in a small town, avoiding women, except when he gets into online trouble on social media...and word gets out that he's married to Monica, a racing car heiress.
Monica is trying to manage the fall out from said social media debacle on Josh's part.
Which means a possible second chance with the mechanic she married.
So, married, not married?
Recommend.

Monica and Josh had spent a two week honeymoon together but her father put a spanner in the works when he threatens their relationship. Monica succumbs and allows her dad to get the marriage annulled, yet due to a mix up it wasn’t done and three yrs later she has to tell Josh. Feelings are reunited and this second chance for the couple form the basis of this book, I enjoyed the storyline but felt there were too many explicit bedroom scenes which were not needed.

It was a nice and flowing reading.;a second chance romance with two protagonists with explosive chemistry... perhaps there is a lack of greater depth in the story.

I am a fan of Zoe York and was excited to read Rebel at Heart as I've read several of the books in this series. I love Monica and Josh as a couple and am so sad about the time they lost together. Even when Josh was still hurt and angry and Monica, you could feel the love he still felt for her and Monica never stopped loving him. I really enjoyed the development of this book and the way Josh and Monica came back together. Well thought you story development. Thank you NetGalley and Zoe York for and advanced copy for this totally honest review.

Title: Rebel at Heart
Author: Zoe York
Status: Available Now on KU
Reading Method: @netgalley eARC

Initial Thoughts: LOVED! Instalove is tricky because it’s hard to get the right chemistry but I thought York executed it perfectly. I was a little nervous when the “3 years earlier” section started but I love how this one is as structured (as opposed to the chapter by chapter flashing back and forth that I’m a little burnt out on at the moment). Monica and Josh were just so perfect for one another.

Reader Awareness: This is pretty instalove (which I feel like is a less popular trope), but as previously stated I thought it was well done. This is part of a series of interconnected standalones, but read perfectly fine alone. My dad boy complaint is now I have to prioritize meeting the rest of the Kincaid brothers STAT 😂

Recommended For: Small Town lovers, racing/car buffs, enjoyers of a good Romcom (it wasn’t “crack up” funny per se, but loads of great one liners)

One of my favorite Kincaid brothers gets his story. Josh is not former military, as his brothers, but cars and racing were always his passion. His other passion became Monica Fischer, daughter of the chairman of Fischer Racing. The two weeks they spent together were amazing as he taught her what she wanted to learn about racing and about him. Monica had never felt so free, but circumstances forced her to return to the life that was chosen for her. Josh had only wanted her love, not her wealth and when she learns that their Vegas wedding had not been annulled, she leaves for Pine Harbour to notify Josh; hopefully without her parents’ interference. When a freak storm hits the town, she has no choice but to stay with him and the feelings between them ignite once again. Enjoying this time with Josh and the Kincaid’s, she realizes that for years she has considered everyone’s needs, but now it is her turn to have what she needs, a life with Josh. A beautiful love story with hot romance! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Josh Kincaid is sort of the outsider of the family. He didn't go into the military, he left right after high school and moved to America, and didn't come back for six years. Monica Fischer is a force of nature, sweet kind and caring and when she comes into his life, as much as he doesn't want to, he can't resist her. Their journey broke my heart and put it back together so much better.
The fact they even tried to contain their chemistry, before or now, is absolutely insane! Their hearts though, those sensitive, sweet, protective, hearts they have, that is what will make you fall in love with them, root for them, cry with them, and celebrate with them. These two should have lived out their dream three years ago.

Although I did enjoy the overall storyline and ending, I felt the numerous explicit sex scenes detracted from the emotional side of the story, and just cheapened it all. I must admit to skipping quite a bit of it when the sex scenes started taking up several pages as they were tiresome and pulled the reader away from the developing story. I wouldn’t recommend due to this and also there was quite a lot of explicit language also, but done in a way that seemed juvenile, so the whole story came across as a teenager writing a story about how they thought older people would act

What a perfect love story!

Josh and Monica went their separate ways after the end of their very short marriage, and now three years later it appears that all isn't as resolved as they thought. Monica owes Josh an explanation, in person, face to face. Right before an unexpected snow storm traps her in his apartment for a couple days. A couple glorious days.

I loved that the author took us back to the beginning and gave us their entire love story from day one. And what a story it was! These two have an almost instant chemistry, despite an age gap of close to a decade, and by the end of their first day together I was in love with both of them. But the powers-that-be sought to break them up, and nearly succeeded.

This is, as expected from this author, a very steamy, sensuous book. And I loved every dirty bit of it. These two deserve every minute of their time together after all they went through while they were apart. And their time wasn't just spent on physical activities; they bravely faced their broken hearts and shattered feelings to lay bare all their emotional baggage, which allowed the truth to come out and gave them both a HEA that was far more than either one could have hoped for.

It's an outstanding way to finish up a stellar series. As much as I loved each and every one of the earlier books, I think this one is my absolute favorite. Highly recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
