A good short story. I like that this couple cross social classes in the end. Great characters and a heartwarming romance. It’s great to see some of the other story lines and characters crossing paths again, tying the series together.

Keeping track of the soon bride to be is a full time job. Keeping his heart gets harder and harder as time goes on.
I found this book engaging and interesting. A lot of times you see the women in the books just submitting and the men just stand by. I was so glad when he stood up and said NO. I did take me a little while to get into the book which is why its 4 stars.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.

Chasing the Bride is the sixth book in the Lords in Love series.

Two families have been at odds for decades. To end this feud Lady Tabitha Kerr was promised at birth to be the Viscount Oldfield’s bride. Tabitha's father is dying and wants this marriage to unite the families to happen before he dies. Tabitha wants to be a dutiful daughter, but she doesn’t want to marry the Duke. She dreams of a love match, or at least one night of true love. Even if she has to run away to find it!

As Viscount Oldfield’s trusted man of business, Mr. Hudson Frampton is his lordship’s right-hand man. When a nervous bride jilts the viscount at the altar, Hudson is determined to find and return her in order to marry the Duke. Hudson has feelings for Tabitha, but he has a job to do. But will he give in to a request from the bride to be or will he do his job.

I loved this book. The characters were entertaining and very likeable. Hudson has no title, but he is smart and wealthy in his own right. Tabitha is sweet and wants to do as she is expected, but just can't follow through. Hoping to have an adventure for one week which she hopes will satisfy her in order to marry the horrible Duke. Predictable as it may have been it was still a fun adventure to enjoy as Hudson and Tabitha get closer to each other.

More Marrywell merriment! This book made delightful use of the only one bed trope as well as class difference. Both Hudson and Tabitha are extremely likeable characters and reading about their shenanigans was truly a joy.

These books put me on an emotional rollercoaster, and I always end up sighing happily at the end.

Both main characters were sweet and they made an adorable and well balanced couple. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to read the ARC,

Lady Tabitha Kerr has known all of her life that she was to marry Viscount Oldfield, a man who was her father's age in an attempt to repair a centuries old rift between their families. She felt as if she would be disgracing her dying father if she didn't honor the betrothal agreement he arranged prior to her birth. Hudson Frampton, is the Viscount's man of business and has admired Lady Tabitha from afar, despite him being a commoner. Lady Tabitha plans to attend the annual May Day festival in Marrywell for the last time as an unmarried woman and is dismayed to learn that Viscount Oldfield also plans to attend. After spending the first couple of days at the festival with only her maid, Mary Frances and Hudson, she takes the opportunity to enjoy herself knowing that she wouldn't have the chance once Viscount Oldfield joined them. Tabitha comes up with an idea that she and Hudson could marry in lieu of her wedding the Viscount. Though he would love nothing but to marry Tabitha, Hudson knows that it would be a stretch for her to adjust to life married to a commoner as opposed to the life she is currently accustomed to. He tells Tabitha that the choice she is having to make in marrying Viscount Oldfield is not a choice a parent should require of their child. As the date for the marriage arrives, both Tabitha and Hudson will have to examine who they are and what they will do for the life they want.

I received the book as an ARC from NetGalley and I am an voluntarily leaving a review

It was a short but sweet story.
We have Lady Tabitha who is only 22, but already spoken for by her father best friend because of some family feud (which we don't know about).
When she become runaway bride, Hudson (man-of-bussines) runs after her to bring her back.

But....

They fall in love 🥰

Will they be together?

Find out :)

Another fun book by Erica Ridley. Her books tend to be fairly short but always very entertaining. This one was no exception. A range of characters designed to an enhance the story which in itself was easy to read.

I was extremely fortunate to receive an ARC of Chasing The Bride from Netgalley. This is another masterpiece by Erica Ridley.
Lady Tabitha Kerr has been engaged to marry an old lecherous man since before she was born. On her wedding day, she runs away and Mr. Hudson Frampton, her fiancé's man of business is tasked with the job of finding her and bringing her back within a week to continue the nuptials. Hudson finds her within a day but doesn't take her back and when the two spend time together and enjoy every moment of their togetherness, a whole new relationship develops. This is a beautifully written story of how children sometimes sacrifice themselves for the love and adoration of their parents.

Tabitha has been betrothed since before she was born. An obedient and dutiful daughter who will marry a man as old as her father to heal a century old rift between two families. However when Tabitha learns that the rift could be over without the wedding and her betrothed is really just after her dowry, she begins to think that maybe she doesn't need to marry this dreadful man. So she runs.

Hudson is a man of business for Viscount Oldfield the man betrothed to Tabitha, but Hudson has loved Tabitha since he met her. When Hudson is sent to track down the runway bride, he can't help but give her time to enjoy there little things before she has to marry that odious old man.

Where does Tabitha run to? Will Hudson be able to admit his feelings to Tabitha? What do they do in their week together? Will Tabitha marry Oldfield??

I think this might almost be the best in the 'Lords in love' series I've read so far. This is a delightful story full of dreams, hopes and love. Both Hudson and Tabitha are gorgeous characters. The author has done a fabulous job describing the angst and feelings. The spice is good too. Just a great read!

If you live Bridgerton then this novel is for you, likeable characters, historical setting and a plot with plenty of twists and turns along the way:

I felt that even though this book was short, it could have gone into much more detail about feelings, interactions and chemistry. It was very surface level which led to me rating it lowly. It would have been much better if we understood more about the characters, why they fell in love, thought they were a good fit, and why Hudson decided to intervine in the end but not before.

This didn’t have enough depth, for me. The stakes were low and the relationship development was weak, but I Iiked Hudson and their flirty banter. This was my first Erica Ridley and I’ll seek out another, but probably not from this series.

I’m so glad I wasn’t born during the time of arranged marriages. A scary thought this was, especially with the intended betrothed. The adventure that ensued with Tabitha and Hudson was whimsical and over-the-top romantic. I loved how it was another installment, yet with totally different characters. A mere mention of the other characters during the same time period was genius! I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

Yet another amazing and great Erica Ridley book. Really enjoyed reading this one.

The Heiress Bride by Erica Ridley is the newest book (#6) in the Lords in Love Series. We even get to spend time in Marrywell again! We are introduced to Tabitha and how she is being pressured by her father into marrying the odious Viscount Oldfield. She does not want to, but she is trying to be a good daughter.

Tabitha only wants to be a good daughter. Her father is dying and she is trying to give him his last wish. She does not want to marry the old, lecherous man. Tabitha leaves to go to the Marrywell Celebration, but his man of business Hudson Frampton is sent to watch her.

Hudson and Tabitha have a good time but know that she needs to go back and marry. The time comes for the wedding and Tabitha runs away and Hudson is sent to find her. This time, they begin a relationship pretending to be married. The closer to the second wedding, the more Tabitha is conflicted. Will Tabitha and Hudson have their happily ever after ending?

The Heiress Bride by Erica Ridley is a good read.

Chasing the Bride uses the bodyguard trope as Mr. Hudson Frampton has to watch over and then retrieve his employer's runaway fiance.
Delightful characters. A fun escapist Regency romance

Thank you NetGalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I can't imagine being promised to marry from the time she is a baby. And to an old sleazy friend of your dad. That is just wrong. I don't have that much loyalty. I totally understand Tabitha running away. How controlling is it to have her fiancé's man a business track her down. No one knows he has feelings for her so he helps her have a few days of freedom. The story is fun to read as she finds space to breath and be herself. I like the happy ending!

3 stars

I'm sure I used to like this authors work but since the Bridgerton woke apocalypse a couple of writers, IMO have gone off the boil. I assume this is supposed to be set in England. Elephants aren't that common here. Badgers aren't cuddly black and white fluff balls but snarly biting nocturnal flea ridden omnivores. The weather here isn't that brilliant only perhaps half a dozen really warm days, not enough for our couple to fling themselves into a river fully dressed up to their arm pits and don't get me started on the contrast of historical mores and the "I'll do what I like" scenarios. In those days a woman going into a public house on her own would have been more than frowned on. I'm starting to build a 'don't bother with this author list' which I find sad.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A short sweet story, perfect for when you're looking to read on a lazy afternoon or travel! Travelling is when I read the most.

Our story revolves around Tabitha, the daughter of a marquess, who has been bethroed to a much much older man - Viscount Oldfield (just in case you miss that he's old). She does not wish to marry him, because he's old, spends his time gambling and tupping women young enough to be his grandaughters, and has a habit of looking down her bodice every single time they meet. But, she's a dutiful daughter and must marry him to bring peace between the two familes that have been at odds for centuries apparently.

Why, don't ask because the author doesn't exactly expand on that. Just accept it and move on.

Our hero, Hudson Frampton has been in the employ of the lecher viscount for a decade now, and has been sweet on Tabitha for at least half that time. He doesn't envy her position knowing what a horrible marraige awaits her, but as a man not born in this world he keeps his thoughts - and hands - to himself. For a while.

Our heroine sets out to explore a week of freedom before her life is unwittingly tied down to the old dude, and Hudson joins in to protect her. Well, you can see where this is going.

I enjoyed the conversation and banter between the MC's, and Hudson was actually quite a fun, flirty, and yet honorable hero. I would have enjoyed seeing a bit more information about his history and his story, but alas these stories are usually quite small in length. Which would be my next criticism; things happen too fast and resolve too fast. It's more a novella than a full fledged book, which means the plot moving forward becomes more vital than emotional or character depth.

If you're looking for something quick, fun with cute banter to read then give this a shot!
