First thought: You had me hooked at the first woof! The dogs captured my heart about the time Brad and Maisie felt that instant connection. Loved it!

Maisie is a down to earth pet photographer that loves dogs. She inherited her grandparents beach house that is in disarray and is working to keep it upright while giving everything to her fur-babies which is a pack of misfit senior dogs that she has rescued.

Brad is the hunky A list movie star that has a bad rap with women due to a fallout with a pop star over 10yrs ago. This has lead to imagine problems and he has one last chance with his current movie to change the minds of his followers.

So how do Maisie and Brad even meet you ask? As they live totally different lives in basically different universes, now that is where the magic happens.

Thank to the help of the furry friends and an accidental social media mishap, a random encounter went viral that sets these character on a road to love or heartbreak. What starts as fake dating to help with Maisie‘a financial situation and Brad’s image problem quickly escalates thanks to the help of the furry family.

This is a book for any animal lover who likes a romance as you will find yourself going along on this journey with them. The personalities of the dogs in Maisie‘s pack and the relationship that develop between Brad and all of them is just so well written.

I won’t give any spoilers but this is a must read book if you like: romance, dogs, fake dating and just wholesome cuteness.

She’s dog’s best friend. He trusts no one. When opportunity knocks, will they allow love to run off the leash?

This is a sweet- sometimes maybe too sweet- romance. Maisie is the financially struggling champion of shelter dogs, who falls quickly in love (real? fake?) with the billionaire actor next door, Brad. The love story is a bit lacking in tension, and also a bit hard to believe due to the imbalance. If both characters held the idea of celebrity with great skepticism, it could have worked better, but as it stood, they both- Maisie and Brad- seemed to be in awe of his celebrity and net worth, which was a bit hard to take.

But, there were lots of adorable dogs, who of course deserve all the cuteness points.

Overall, a nice pup-filled breezy, if slightly forgettable, summer read.

* I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and Elewyn Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

“How’s that chemistry between us working for you, Miss Jones?”
“I’m not so sure,” I say shakily. “I think we may need to work on it some more.”
“Anything for the craft,” he agrees. And he pulls me into his arms.

I received this ARC through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are

Rom-coms that include resuscue animals have become my favorite sub-genre. Jennifer S-James did an excellent job this this book.

I was hooked right away and fell in love with all the characters (except Jillian)

I greatly look forward to reading My Billionaire Fake Ex and finding out what happens to Ayla and her nameless pup.

I really enjoyed this book and how much the dogs were mentioned. They were truly the stars of the book.

With Maisie living next door to the billionaire Brad, her and her dogs end up accidentally crashing his party. Brad is wanting to see her again and you can bet fate made it happen.

While they end up fake dating, they realize that they are both helping each other out. I liked the impact Maisie was making in the world with her dogs and how much interest Brad took to them.

The doggie limo sounded amazing. Is that even a thing? Watching Brads love for Jupiter grow was so beautiful. Some people don’t realize how much support and love dogs truly can bring to your life.

Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot and can’t wait to fully read the next one! If you enjoy fake dating that ends with HEA then you will love this!

Thank you to NetGalley for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts.

It was a cute, rom-com book, perfect for a summer read. I was smiling as I read it. Maisie and Brad "fake date" so that he can benefit from the good publicity of a dog-loving girlfriend, and she can increase her following to help rescue dogs and survive the debt left to her. I enjoyed the fact that Brad had feelings for Maisie throughout the book, and we saw both leads explore how they felt without massive amounts of miscommunication. It made me wish to be at a beach house in Malibu and made me miss my own pets!

The timeline was rushed but pretty standard for a romance book. As a big Taylor Swift fan, I am not sure I liked the hate on Glenna, but it all worked out in the end. I think worst part of the book is the title, which is at odds with many romance books where the title is the wittiest part of the book.

I want to thank Jennifer St.James and Elewyn Publishing for this ARC. This is my honest opinion.

Do you say billionaire/ celebrity, romance, and dogs? Here I am!

This book is the perfect little summer romance with beachfront, dogs, and Los Angeles. The romance is very cute, the dogs are very present in the story and I loved this detail that was really developed and inserted into the story.

This is a short book, so be warned that the romance moves very, very fast, but it's still believable.
I also really liked the dual point of view, which really helps to make the story interesting and emotional.

So if you're looking for a cute, no-holds-barred romance with a message about animal adoptions and all the tropes we love, I recommend this book

I. Adored. This. Book.

My first read by Jennifer St. James, My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend was a refreshing take on a common trope. Our two main characters, Maisie and Brad, were such kind souls who I found myself pulling for throughout the entire book and the supporting cast of canine characters just had my heart melting from first page to last.

While I tend to gravitate toward heavier/steamier books, My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend was the perfect palette cleanser for between super angsty reads.

Just a hint of steam, major beach vibes, and the perfect book to read while sitting poolside this summer.

I absolutely ADORED Maisie, Brad, Jupiter, and everyone else. The book was heartwarming without a too-sweet aftertaste. After an accidental photo-bomb, Maisie and Brad are matched together with the goal of a new reputation for him and a potential windfall for the things Maisie cares about. Throughout their fake relationship, they learn about each other through the relationships they have with the senior dogs in Maisie's care. While there was a lot of opportunity to go a little deeper in some of the underlying emotions and themes, My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend is a comforting romanctic comedy without much angst.

Thanks to NetGalley and Elewyn Publishing for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
2.5 stars (all for the dogs)
As a golden retriever mom, If there's one involved in the story, sign me up. Better still, this one's on the cover, and he's the best part of the book. The dogs made the story. Other than that, nothing really happened, it was kind of boring, and they were definitely not FAKE dating as the title says. There wasn't even chemistry between them. There were two odd plot points - the singer, the plot of which could have been removed entirely, and the movie that went nowhere. We never find out what happens with the new ending. And speaking of ending, this one was ridiculous. I mean, this all takes place in two weeks, and that's what happens? Not bad writing, but I was expecting more.

If you love romance and dogs, this is the book for you! My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend covers both the romance and fur babies! I have to admit any love story involving a dog grabs my attention. The fake dating situation is always a plus too! You will fall in love with Maisie, Brad, and the many pups that are featured in this book! It's a great summer read to read while at the beach, sitting in the sun, or on a comfortable chair during a rainy day!
Enjoy!

Good beach read but only three stars because it all happened too quickly and easily. There was no true tension or deep character development. But overall, entertaining and I would recommend it to someone who needed a vacation read. Love the added element of the dogs to the mix.

My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend by Jennifer St. James

I have to say I was all over the place with this one. At times, I laughed and others I skimmed through the pages slightly bored. I love animals and senior animals have a special place in my heart a I too rescue them only. I found this to be a quirky and cute rom com and really rooted for the protagonist in this one to find love. I just felt like there was more to be told here. I am not really sure if it is more background or more interaction with Maise and Brad. But overall it was a hit for me as the plot was well written with characters that were lovely and close to well developed.

4.5 out of 5 stars on this one rounded to 5

I really wish I liked this book. It felt too much like insta-love and it was, frankly, boring. Especially the beginning with all the info dumping. As much as I love dogs… I didn’t care. I didn’t care about any characters or the plot. Towards the end I skimmed the book.

2.5/5
I really had very different expectations from this book. Maybe it wasn't just my time to read it but I had to skim at times cause I was bored.
It didn't even feel like a fake-dating trope. That's probably where the main issue is. Since it's clearly marketed as that, and nope, definitely not a fake-dating book, at all.
I did like our main two characters, that was definitely the highlight of the book. They were sweet, I liked their honesty and how supportive they were of each other. I also liked the writing of the author.
But it felt too insta-love. I don't know where their feelings came from, I wish the relationship had better development.
The dogs were a nice touch, and a hot guy loving dogs is definitely swoon-worthy.
I also had a huge issue with the very obvious dig at Taylor Swift through this one-dimensional singer character that seemed like a cartoon villain only to end up being a boring not-villain. Why? Cause that whole storyline was cringy and boring.
I went in thinking I would love the book, I really did. And it was just not my cup of tea.

Thank you Netgalley for gifting me a copy of this book.

This was a very cute and easy to read romance. I wasn't sure I would like the dogs or pay much attention to them (even though the book is centered on them), but I loved this aspect of the book as the dogs were just the cutest.
Maisie has such a lovely soul and I loved how genuine she was.
Fake dating is a trope that I love and this book didn't disappoint.

I loved it and I think I'll read the next book in the hope that it will be as good as this one.
