Maisie Jones has recently moved to Malibu Beach after inheriting her grandparent's run-down house. She makes a living taking pet portraits and volunteers at a dog rescue. Trying to raise her profile by posting on social media, she accidentally captures her neighbor when taking a video of her own dogs. It just so happens her neighbor is the extremely wealthy and extremely famous Brad Zander.

They both soon realize that they can use each other to help their careers - Brad and Maisie will pretend to be a couple so Maisie can raise her profile in the dog rescue world, and Brad, who has a reputation of being a jerk, can counteract his image and help get his movie launched.

My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend by Jennifer St. James, is entertaining and fun. It's a fast read and won't change the world, but it's enjoyable to read.

A fun and sweet read, not much goes on in it though. Would've liked more depth or maybe for some more bumps in the plot.

This is my first title by this author and I found it to be a hit or miss.

Things that worked for me:

Maisie and Brad had a great friendship. I did believe they were friends. And I liked both of them even though I was never really sold on them as a couple.

The dogs. They were funny and I did enjoy their antics and the parts of the book they were in.

Things that didn't:

Their relationship being fake. It really never was. They were attracted to one another and pretty much flirting with being a couple the whole time. The only people who kept saying it was fake was the publicist, which oddly made it feel forced.

The relationship itself never felt more than surface. I think too much was going on. The dogs, the movie, the friend that was a director, Maisie and the issues with her house, the Taylor Swift modeled pop star causing him issues...I felt like the 8 dogs with Maisie were sort of synonymous with the 8 plot lines in the book.

All of the things happening meant nothing feels resolved. How did the movie do? Ok...I think. It was barely a blip after everything being all about it.

The reaction to the apology from the singer? Meh.

Their relationship? Sure, you know where they end up but by that point my feelings toward them were so lukewarm I was only barely engaged with them.

The dogs? Probably all fine.

This book is seemingly part of a loosely connected series and I may give the author another shot as there were parts of the book that had potential, but I'm unable to recommend this title.

2 stars - It honestly was so hard for me to finish this book. I did not really connect with the characters at all. The romance was lukewarm. There were a lot of things happening but at the same time, it felt like nothing was happening at all. Any issues or problems were only discussed but nothing was resolved.

Fun easy beach read. Loved the banter and fun relationship between Maisie and Brad. The story was super cute and easy to read in one sitting. Would definitely read other books in this series

great romcom to read in an afternoon with fake dating, billionaire hollywood actor, and dogs. the dogs were standouts, I enjoyed each one of their personalities. Maise and Brad fake relationship was fun and enjoyable.

My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend. is a story about Brad, a famous movie star and Maisie, a photographer who rescues senior dogs who start a relationship to help both of their careers. I liked the characters and they had good chemistry. Also, the dog personalities were great and they are very cutes so if you are an animal lover this is a good book for you.

This is a cute little funny book. I loved the cover of it (it's what stuck out and made me want to read it lol). I loved the characters. Maisie is a sweet kind and loving person. Brad really grew on me. Now their relationship is completely undeniable. I will highly recommend this book! Especially if you need a fun quick read.

Ok, to start, this is your quick read romantic comedy. I don't know if I was in a head space where I needed a quick, light read, but I really enjoyed this book. If you are looking for depth in characters, then this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a predictable fake dating, hot billionaire movie star meets sweet, hard working, dog loving girl next door, then this is for you. The dogs play a big role in this book. In some ways, the personalities of the dogs were developed as much as Maise and Brad. I wanted to adopt everyone of Maise's dogs!

This really is a cute romcom! I loved Maisie, she’s a really sweet, kind person, and while he starts out a bit prickly, Brad definitely develops some soft edges as well. But honestly, I think my favorite characters were the dogs! This book is full of romance for any one of us who like this genre, a touch of drama to make you feel the story and lots of laugh to keep light as a feather! I really enjoyed this story and if you’re a romcom fan, a dog fan, a fan of the author, or someone just looking for a fun, feel good read, I highly recommend this book!

Maisie is a new California transplant from Ohio She is a dog portrait photographer who is living in her grandparents beach house. Her biggest love is the adorable crew of dogs who live with her. Mr Symmes, a chihuahua, starts Maisie onto a life path she never expected to experience.

Brad is a bad boy and bad attitude A-list actor who lives next door to Maisie. He is busy hosting a party when a chihuahua “attacks” Sweetie, his housekeepers poodle. After taking care of “Curly” and her motley lot of dogs he continues to party and wakes up the next day to a dog licking him. When a video of the two of them go viral they agree to fake date. He gets to clean up his image a bit and she is able to help out the shelter dogs. It’s only a couple of weeks what’s the worst that could happen.

I really enjoyed this book. I actually liked Brad, even with his short temper and inability to have a relationship. When Jupiter was introduced I kept reading it as Juniper and therefore the loveable dog is now known as Juniper to me. Brad’s shoes and the love that developed between Brad and Jupiter was adorable. He seemed like a non-dog person but he warmed up and helped Maisie when she needed it WITHOUT being told or asked. Maisie was an easy going character that got along with people even though she preferred animals. Catherine, Ayla, and Jeremy were good friends to have. Jeremy was a bit clueless but his life did revolve around the movie. Catherine must be able to organize her way out of everything and I would really like to see her in a future book and be able to sit still and relax

This is a semi close door cute romance with very little drama and a HEA. This is a good book to unwind with and enjoy Maisie and Brad’s journey.

A sweet and charming little romance. The chemistry between Maisie and Brad was undeniable. The fake dating trope is one of the best tropes. The book also included furry friends which is always a plus!

First off, I want to say that I was given an electronic ARC from the publisher through Netgalley for free, in return for an honest review.

This was a 4.5 star read, but I'm rounding up to 5 stars. First, lets cover the amazing things about this book that warranted high praise for me. I love the fake dating trope, and I believe the set up that brought the hero and heroine together made sense for the story and wasn't too unbelievable like some set-ups can be (but typically that is par for the course in the trope genre). I loved the hero, though I didn't completely remember his physical description, I filled in my husbands attributes. I love the way his POV is written specifically, as it shows a man that is just simply enamoured by a woman and kinda obsessed. My favorite thing is when a guy just sees the women as some beautiful treasure. I enjoyed the wholesome nature of Maisie, but sometimes she didn't strike me as terribly dynamic (maybe she is just genuinely so sunshine that very little troubles her). For instance, she is tunneling her way through fixing up her grandparents estate that they left to her, fixing things as she goes, in a way tackling the debt of neverending repairs, and forgotten taxes. The dogs were adorable, but sometimes they were given far more humanization in their actions and understanding than I thought was realistic (but again it is fiction). My dogs personally are incredibly dumb, bless their souls. Back to the romantic dynamic, I genuinely got butterflies and foot kicking joy when reading their scenes together whether it was the hero or heroines perspective.

Now to what I hate, Jillian is genuinely despicable (but I'm sure we are meant to hate her). I think the Glenna Dare is kinda a satire of Taylor Swift (hilarious, but the character was insufferable, and idk if TSwift truly needed this, lol).

Overall, I'm so happy that I got a chance to read this book and review it. It was so much fun that I finished it in one sitting minus a break to grab a midnight coffee.

fun and nice read, not enough depth or things happening for my liking but still sweet. now that I'm looking at the cover I'm a bit confused at the guy's hair color, it was described as blonde in the beginning but it's dark on the cover 🧍‍♀️ nevermind. I really enjoyed it but maybe because I wasn't expecting much, looking back the characters feel a bit two dimensional and the plot might be too smooth and linear, I wish there had been more bumps in the road tbh😢

As a dog lover myself, I couldn't resist the charm of Maisie and her pack of senior shelter dogs. The chemistry between Maisie and Brad is undeniable, and their fake relationship turned real had me swooning.

While the premise was cute and the characters were endearing, I did feel like there could have been more depth to their connection. Despite this, I couldn't help but root for them to find their happily ever after. The author's writing style is engaging and the story flows effortlessly, making it a perfect escape after a long day.

If you're a fan of rom-coms, fake dating tropes, and furry friends, "My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend" is a heartwarming read that will leave you with a smile on your face. Jennifer St. James brings humor, romance, and a touch of steam to this charming story.

This is a super cute and swoony romance.. I liked it very much.. It is sweet and charming, with lovely characters. Definitely a relaxing read after stressful day.

First of all, I LOVED this book. Once I read the first chapter, I was sucked in and couldn't stop, mainly because I am a dog mom of 4 mixed rescued dogs. ( 2 huskies, 1 lab, and 1 mixed terrier.) And a KITTY! I also love doing charities for rescue and was previously a foster mom for puppies without a doggy momma.

Anyways back to the book. I really enjoyed the rescue dog part with an actor entering into the mix of trying to help out while avoiding his ex-girlfriend, who is a singer and song rider who gives off a TOXIC version of Taylor Swift. (Genna writes and sings songs about Brad - her now ex. Huge Swifty fan, but Glenna is 😬) lol

Not only do you get to know the main characters of the story, each dog also has their own unique quirk, which as a dog mom, is soooo 100% true! Loved everyone's personality; it fit them pretty well!

If you love a good rom-com, dogs! (You must love dogs! 😉) Or even a quick, fun read, this is for you!

I typically love fake dating but “My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend” was just slightly off the mark for me! I thought the premise was incredibly cute and I loved Maisie but there was just something about her relationship with Brad that I couldn’t make myself feel invested in them! Aside from the cuteness of Maisie’s pack of senior dogs, I didn’t really see them bond over much but I wanted to root for them so badly and I was disappointed that I couldn’t.

There was nothing bad whatsoever but there wasn’t much that set it apart from the rest of the genre! I would still recommend giving the book a shot, especially if you love fake dating, celebrity romances, and dogs.
