This was a holiday novella featuring one Allie's sleuthing partners, Carol Tunison. Carol finds a body of a man in the Mackinac Island senior center and quickly gets her fellow seniors involved in solving the mystery of his death. I loved Carol, the main character of this book. She is a spunky strong woman, determined to solve the murder. This was a fun quick read. My thanks to netgalley for giving me this ARC to read and review.

I knew I was back on Mackinac Island when the first responders pulled up on snowmobiles. I've fallen in love with this place via this series. We only get a novella this go-round, but it was a fun, quick read. Although the usual main character in this series, Addie, does pop into a few scenes, her only role this time is to offer guidance and good wishes to Carol, who's the main character here. A feisty senior sleuth, Carol is determined to find out who killed Martin Oxford. He's found dead in the senior center and his tale is rather a sad one.

Despite that, the overall focus of the book is the humor of the senior citizen members of the town book club's occasionally impractical, silly, even dangerous plans to lure out the killer. Addie's boyfriend, Officer Rex Manning, only thought he had problems keeping Addie out of his cases. This seniors are willing if not the most able sleuths in town. Unfortunately, as they learn, sleuthing can be not only dangerous to those involved but their friends and associates. Carol is getting threatening phone calls and prowlers and, then, her next-door neighbor is attacked. Was it connected to the crime? Their investigation? Why doesn't Carol share what info of possible use she gets with Rex immediately?

Will that reluctance to share prove hazardous to Carol? What do you think? Her husband is out of town and she has only herself to rely on. Who...oh, never mind. Enough teasers. While I always seem to be left wanting more where novellas are involved, this was a fun, quick read and although, bad me, I didn't recall Carol from previous reads of the series, she is one tough lady. Thanks #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks - #KensingtonCozies for introducing me to her. I'll be on the lookout for her in the next book. In the meantime, I think I may go check out those mouthwatering recipes included. What can I say? I'm a sucker for chocolate.

I've read a few of the other books in this series and really enjoyed them. I knew going in I would enjoy this one and I was disappointed!

This was a nice short story that is written from the perspective of one of the Senior members of the community. Even though this was a short story it had some exciting parts and the story didn't feel rushed. I enjoyed the investigations that seniors took on and even though I wasn't completely surprised by the ending, I felt the author did a good job pulling the story together. This is a Christmas themed book and would be a great quick read any time you need some Christmas Cheer!

I received a free E-ARC from Kensington Books, Kensington Cozies and Net Galley for my honest review.

What’s better than fudge? A sweet novella to tide you over between books! Rather than letting a murder dampen the Christmas spirit, the ladies try to solve the murder and get the celebration back on track!

A novella that's as delicious as fudge! Great for holiday reading or anytime you need a quick chocolate cozy fix. An interesting mystery starring Allie's friend Carol. Another bit from author Nancy Coco! Thanks #Netgalley and #Kensington for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

Allie takes a sideline in this Christmas cozy novella in which Carol and her fellow senior citizens attempt to solve a murder.

Christmas Novella starring Carol and the book club ladies.... Allie has a cameo appearance.

It's a nice short story told from Carols POV as she and the bookclub/senior citizens solve the case.

I had some difficulty not having Allie lead the detecting, hence my 3 stars, but it was nice and fun book as Carol is one of my favorite characters in the book.

I have loved every other book I have read in the Fudgy series, so just as expected I also very much enjoyed this one.
I love Carol! I love the whole “old people solving mysteries” trope! I really don’t know what it is I love about it but I just automatically love the character when it’s a sweet old person 🤪
I really enjoy the fact that it takes place on Mackinac island. I was obsessed with all the small town scenery/events described in the book and I really felt like I was living on a beautiful small town island. It was a very lovely escapist book.
The only thing I dislike about cozy mysteries is that they make me hungry while I’m reading 😭🤪
I really appreciated the writing style: it was simple and easy to follow so I didn’t some out while reading some complicated word jargon.
One thing that makes these Fudgy books so great and different from others is that the murder happens within the very first few pages. It’s literally impossible for me to not be sucked in immediately when the drama happens right at the beginning. I just couldn’t put it down after that!
I love love loveeeee when cozy mysteries have recipes in between the chapters!! It just feels like the author put all this extra work into making a truly enjoyable reading experience 🩷
A truly delightful reading experience! I really enjoyed reading this cozy mystery, and I can’t wait for many more Fudgy books in the future 💕

“‘Honey, we’re all capable of murder under the right circumstances,’ Irma said as she wiped down my countertops.” This is the theme of Nancy Coco’s new novella. In this holiday-themed cozy, we get a glimpse into the mind of one of Allie’s partners-in-crime, Carol Tunisian. The mystery is interesting and I enjoyed the exploits of the senior citizen book club members/amateur detectives.

It was a good use of a novella to have the main character be Carol instead of Allie. I've read all the books in this series, but only once and I honestly didn't remember Carol. There are enough reminders to be helpful, but not be tedious.

The story was OK, but didn't do much for me. If you looking for a mystery read with a string Christmas theme, this probably isn't what you are looking for.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Wonderful continuation of the series. Glad to see the seniors having the spotlight in this holiday novella.

Carol Tunisian is getting the Senior Center ready for the Christmas Ball when she discovers the body of a local man who was camping out in the center rather than wintering in Texas as everyone had believed. Why was he there? And what happened to him? Was he the one who trashed the Senior Center or had his killer done the deed?

Early on, I found the switch in main characters for the novellas to be a bit confusing but after reading 11 books in the series it's actually kind of fun to have a new perspective. It's also fun that Allie is now staying on the island year-round and we get to see a glimpse of the setting during the winter time when us tourists can't get there. The investigation in this story was fun, though a few of the things that happened seemed to be recycled from previous books (though if it ain't broke maybe it doesn't need fixin'?) This is a great series and I absolutely love the setting. Definitely one to read if you haven't already!

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

This book is different from the others in the series. It’s from the viewpoint of one of the seniors and not Allie. I enjoyed although it’s shorter than the previous books. I did miss Allie and the fudge. It has a little more violence in it. #HavingaFudgyChristmasTime #NetGalley.

I love this series and really enjoy reading from the perceptive of another character. Carol Tunisian stumbles upon a break in and murder. Her and her "book club" follow the clues to solve the mystery. It was a fun and quick read.

A delightful short story in the Candy-Coated Mystery series by Nancy Coco! Allie’s friend, Carol Tunison, takes the lead in the murder solving this time, and fear doesn’t seem to be a factor for her. Along with the senior book club members, Carol endures threats to her life in order to solve the whodunnit before Christmas. Allie McMurphy, the regular protagonist appears briefly in this novella. Great characters, great mystery!

I honestly reviewed an unedited digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. All opinions are my own.

What a great book with a mystery that kept me guessing. When senior sleuth Carol discovers a dead body, she's determined to find out what happened at the Mackinac Senior Center. With help from Allie, Jen and Rex along with a savvy group of seniors, she is on the case!

I enjoyable older sleuths and this book didn't disapoint. It was fun to see Allie advising Carol on how to solve the mystery. We are introduced to a whole new group of characters and it was the perfect Christmas mystery for a hot June day!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

#HavingaFudgyChristmasTime #NetGalley is told through the point of view of Carol, A friend of Allie and her staff.
Carol becomes involved in a murder investigation and she uses the tips and advice from Allie, who has found herself in this position several times.
Carol had me laughing and her friends added color to the story.
It was a fun twist on this already fantastic book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.
I'm always happy to recommend this series to other people.
