Kid Ventura is an excellent book that's a perfect fit for any classroom looking to blend literacy with STEAM education. Its unique approach, structured around the engineering design process—identifying and solving problems—makes it not just a book, but a tool for inspiring innovation. Featuring a diverse cast of young inventors, the content is presented in an easy-to-read format, enriched with engaging graphics. Each segment is bite-sized, ideal for incorporating into single lessons. 'Kidventors' doesn't just teach students about science and engineering; it builds crucial background knowledge and reading skills.

Kid-ventors is a collection of stories about kids who faced a problem and went off to find a solution for it. There are a variety of stories within this book, some well-known people and others I have never heard of. All the stories are well written and focus on the same theme: never give up and you can solve a problem if you put your heart into it. I believe this would be a great read for children of all ages.

▪️I loved books like this when I was younger. I respected and admired creative kids who used their imagination and intelligence to invent new things! Of course, having parents who were able to financially help made a huge difference in getting their inventions out into the world. When I read books like this, I always wonder about the other kid inventions that never got patents or were never available to the general public because of lack of money. I’m sure there were many. But I digress…

▪️I enjoyed reading this book. I liked how each inventor had their own section that described how they got their idea and how they created, manufactured, patented, and sold their ideas. I also appreciated the info included at the end of each section that lets the reader know what the kid inventor went on to do with their life and their invention.

▪️There is also information interspersed between the inventions that provides specific info about patents, trademarks, prototypes, production, and marketing. This part may be a little dry for casual readers, but helpful if you are interested in how to develop an idea.

▪️There is a detailed glossary at the end. I love glossaries!

▪️If you have a creative inventor in your house, or even just an admirer of creative kids like I was, then this book is a must-have.

Thank you @NetGalley and @macmillanusa #Feiwelandfriends for an eArc of this book, which I have read and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book is fun and informative. I loved how there was practical advice about things like obtaining patents and building prototypes woven in through the stories of kid inventors. There was also an impressive level of diversity represented! There was a wide variety of ages, genders and nationalities in the kids' stories. One of my focuses in my classroom is to show my students that history is made by ordinary people who do extraordinary things and that even kids can change the world. This book will fit nicely with that and I can't wait to share some of the stories with them!

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing for this ARC to review.

Loved this title! KID-VENTORS is a perfect addition to an upper elementary or middle school library. Some of the featured inventors are well-known (Braille, Franklin, etc), but many are lesser known, and all entires are explained with a kid-audience in mind. Detailed without getting too boring, strikes a perfect balance!

This book focuses on kids who looked at problems and invented a solution. It could be inspirational for kids who like to invent and problem solve. However, it is very long and could be boring for some readers.

This is a very unique, unusual publication that is suitable for middle and high schoolers and all adults in their orbit. Each chapter focuses on a specific child or teen who has invented something of interest. The chapters are brief, concise, and thorough, providing sufficient information to justify the person's inclusion in the book. A few are famous, like Ben Franklin and Louis Braille, but most are unknowns with giant ideas. The inventions are loosely grouped together by subjects, like environment, technology, fun, solving daily problems, etc. Related information about patents, prototypes, marketing, STEM, and other useful topics are also included. A glossary and reference list provide additional valuable help. The book is well-organized, informative, entertaining, and extremely readable. Thanks to NetGalley, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, and Feiwel & Friends for providing an ARC.
