Force of Nature is my first of Kate T. Parker's book's I have read. I heard of her first book and was really looking forward to this volume. And I get it, this book is about voice, (and photos) but it seems like most of the voices in the book are loud and sometimes come across as disrespectful. Where are the quiet, gentle voices? Those can be powerful as well.

There are some really stunning images in this book. Images that tell the voice/story of the person. Most of the images are just portraits; while good portraits, nothing exceptional. I was expecting more phenomenal photographic work.

And I am not sure if it was just the digital version of this book I read, but there seemed to be images missing, as there were many blank pages where it seemed like images should go with the caption.

Overall, this book was okay, but I expected more. I guess this book just wasn't for me.

This book is divided into four chapters..find your voice, use your voice, amplify your voice and sustain your voice. The pictures & essays will help you feel better about this insane world we are raising our kiddos in! They are incredibly uplifting & so real! I am also obsessed with the fact that this book is square! I love its size & shape & it’s gonna look so cute on my coffee table! Thanks to @katetparker @workmanpub for my advanced copy!

"If you can make something better by using your voice or speaking up, why wouldn't you?" This book is full of beautiful, strong, brilliant girls and women who know they have power and they use it for good. Even very young girls recognize that they can help situations and help others feel better. The photos are amazing -- candid shots of very different ladies. I recommend that anyone who wants a pick-me-up or who needs some faith in humanity pick up this book.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
